Nope. I'm taking the QB. Already got a Cavs title. QB gives you the chance to win 4 or 5 rings. I'm talking about Brady/Rodgers/Roethlisberger type QB's. Not Wentz or Watson. I'd sacrifice the WS for 15 years of excellent football after the Cavs won.

Give me the WS. Titles are never guaranteed.

As Cleveland fans, which would you rather have, a Tribe World Series victory or a healthy franchise QB (ala Brady, Manning, Rapistberger (minus the rapeyness), Rodgers, etc) for the next 15 years? And for S&L, a Reds WS victory or the QB?
I love the reds and have always said a reds WS run would be incredible. But I’m taking the franchise QB on the browns.

1 championship year for my favorite baseball team or 15+ good years (possibly a few championship years) of the Browns? I’m taking the browns.

i follow like that's logic. A WS would be a given title. Even with a franchise qb, it's not a given. It would be nice to watch high level football though, I have to admit.

This is my take. Baseball was my first love, as a kid, but it morphed into football as I got older. A lot of you guys are too young to have seen watchable/meaningful football by a Browns teams. I've seen one excellent QB (Sipe) and one very good QB (Kosar) play in my life. Sunday's were worth getting up for. Now, it's pretty much apathy.

Pretty much this. I will always take a title over guaranteed years of competitive play. Look at the Colts right now. They got their franchise QB, but they are currently nowhere near a SB title.

High level football for 15+ years would be a good consolation prize though.

I just spend way more time and energy on the browns than I do on the reds. So 15 years of winning for the team I am most vested in sounds goood to me.

Exactly. I also figured the franchise QB would be your answer before asking. :D

On a completely different note, doesn't it piss you off to watch the Jets last night? Prior to this season, everyone was saying the Jets were the worst team in the league in full on "tank" mode having gotten rid of a lot of their talent and bringing in Josh McCown, who 'sucked and couldn't win in Cleveland." Their roster was supposedly the worst in the league.

Now, apparently McCown can win and the Jets aren't as bad as predicted?

Their coach has done a damn good job coaching them up and getting them to 4 wins. You'd think Hue could at least fall face first into a win or two? Says something for coaching, I guess.

    IDGAF about the jets.

Yeah, I also dgaf. They played their way out of he QB sweepstakes. Fine by me.
  • BR1986FB
My point was that Hue seems to be so bad, as a head coach, they can't even "luck" into a win, with what was supposed to be a better roster. At this point, they might as well lose them all. Just pointing out he must be really bad if the Jets coach can get 4 wins with that roster/QB.
  • Commander of Awesome
Yea Hue sucks, is that even debatable at this point?

I only get jealous of teams with franchise QBs. Jets don’t have that, so I’m not annoyed watching them at all. It’d be nice to be 4-4 right now, sure. But it’ll also be nice to have the first overall pick and our choice of the best QB in the draft.

    But....a man's gotta eat!

BR: Going back to the 1960's, Frank Ryan was a very good QB and at the helm for our last championship.

Or Trevor matich’s first overall choice, Mason “Weeden” Rudolph. Lol

Are you all in on Baker Mayfield or is it an inside joke I don't get?
  • SportsAndLady
I don’t think anyone here likes baker mayfield.

I’m starting to like the idea of josh rosen.

I'm leaning toward Rosen in this early race as well.

I noticed COA said him a couple times. I didn't know if he was joking or really wanted him.

I know he and Graham were studs but that was a tad before my time. I just turned fiddy a couple of weeks ago. :D

Congrats. Now you can join AARP!

Question to all: Who would you pick as the best qb for the Browns in that long list of sadness since 1998?

I guess I would go with Derek Anderson.

Sad, but true. It was DA. Couch had a decent run too then I guess the next would be Hoyer. That's a pretty pathetic list.
