I would try to give Kirk cousins what ever he wants and then some

If you are a metrics person, according to Neilsen ratings, Cleveland is no longer "Brownstown." Tribe is first, Cavs a close second and Browns a distant third in viewer ratings. Coupled with the fact the stadium is essentially empty and half the food vendors are closed = better do something Haslam's.

This is one of those "yeah, no shit" type of revelations. If all teams are contending for a title, the Browns would easily be #1.

Yep. If Washington doesn't tag him again, which I've heard they would, he'd be the target....not a QB at #1. Fans aren't going to buy into the "process" any more with a rookie QB likely struggling. They are already losing fans in bunches. Have to do something to get this team on a winning path.

1-15 last year and I'm pretty sure they were first. Fact of the matter is, the franchise is losing a ton of their fan base, mostly the younger ones, and even some of the older/diehards are finding it hard to be interested in them.

No clue why the Redskins have been fucking around with Kirk. They should pay the man, he has proven he deserves it. He is better than a good amount of QBs who get all the praise, because they are on better teams. Fucking Dalton has a better contract than him for fucks sake. Not to mention with this current landscape of the NFL, every time a QB is up for a contract extension he is going to be the highest paid QB (see Stafford). There really isn't much you can do about it. The NFL has made the QB position that valuable. It's hilarious the redskins haven't figured that out.

Hell, why can't the Browns sign him AND draft a QB? Unfortunately, if they don't pay him, I still don't see Kirk choosing the Browns. There are plenty of teams who have enough of a foundation where Kirk could come in and they could be a playoff team or better immediately. Denver, Miami, Jew York Giants (lol eli), Minnesota (if they gave up on bridgewater), Arizona, Jax (they won't give up on Bortles, but they should for Kirk), Jew York Jets and Buffalo are all teams that I would pick over the Browns if they gave me a call right now.

I don't recall that. I believe it was the Cavs #1 coming off winning a title. You and I both know if the Browns were 8-2 right now they would be #1, especially if they were #1 during a 1-15 season lol.

Unless Bortles takes the Jags to the AFC Title game, that would be my landing spot for Cousins.

This past weekend was a perfect example of the importance of the QB position in the NFL. Wouldn't be a major shock if the ratings were down. Teams starting guys like Tom Savage, Nathan Peterman, Case Keenum, etc, etc....just not watchable football.

And as far as Cousins to the Browns goes, if they were somehow fortunate enough to lure him here, there's no way I'm burning a high draft pick on another QB. I'd take a developmental one but not the #1 overall pick (I know you didn't say that). Cousins is actually a proven commodity so they wouldn't need their backup plan for likely another 5 years. Hell, by then Kizer might even be developed, lol. If they were to sign some stiff like Tyrod Taylor or AJ McCarron, I'd be all for still using the #1 pick on a QB but Cousins is a franchise QB....no need to do that. Get him weapons.

Yeah, I wouldn't use the #1 pick lol.

If all the teams I listed are realistic, I would probably pick Minnesota over Jax if I were Kirk. Although going to the AFC might not be a bad idea. In a couple years rapistberger and brady might be gone and thus where does that leave the AFC in terms of good QBs? Andrew Luck if he returns to form and Carr. Other than that it would be those three vs a lot of young or average QBs.

I think Minny is still pretty high on Bridgewater, even after the injury. I think it's just a matter of time before he's back under center. Zimmer's a helluva coach but I think even he realizes they aren't riding the Case Keenum Train to the Super Bowl.

Washington can't tag him. They have tagged him 2 years in a row so he's a free agent. He's definitely leaving Washington. They fucked that all up. I'm giving him the biggest contract ever in the NFL I don't care

You guys are very high on cousins lol

I think he’s a very good QB and definitely someone that can QB your team for the next 5 years. But I’d be a little worried about his lack of success in Washington. To me, I’d rather take a QB at #1 and hope he turns into a Carson Wentz than give cousins the largest contract in NFL history. But I wouldn’t QQ about the latter at all.

Looks like they can but the price tag would be $35M for one year....

I want wins NOW...not having to wait for a QB to develop. In a perfect world, you get a Wentz and he sets the world on fire. Seems like we're (as a fan base) never that lucky.

It doesn't matter. Cousins is a pipe dream.

This is most likely the case but if they are in a position to do it, they'd better be the highest bidder.

This, I really DGAF about Cousins. Get the young guy, Mayfield/Rosen. DGAF, just get the best one.

Browns in last 6 games against the Benagls, 0-6 with an avg loss of 20.7 points. Expecting this is to be over by halftime.

Can this be the game thread? Does it matter?

That's Myles' 5th sack of the year and he has only played 6 games. BR, I don't know what you were expecting, but that is pretty good for a rookie who has had limited action and missed a good portion of training camp.

    Coleman, clutch.

Well at least Kizer hasn't thrown a pick today yet lol

How was that defenseless? He had 2 feet down going forward.

Fucking terrible call. Game over now
