Nah. F1's black sheep is making a good transition to the tin tops. He is the fastest open wheeler in the field and without a pseudo-Hendrick entry either.

I see Milk and Donuts and Leilani Munter made the race too. Munter is pretty hot too.

Mark Martin and JR on the front row for the 500!

    Good start for Hendrick Motorsports!
  • GoChiefs
Sure..but it's not about where you start the race..it's all about where u finish the race ! :D
  • GoChiefs
Green flag getting ready to drop on Danica's debut in the Arca race. Let's see how she does.
  • pkebker
    Is it on tv?
  • Eric Taylor
Why am I not surprised that Hendrick guys are on the front row?

I am happy though that Martin is on the pole, if anyone in NASCAR right now deserves a 500 W it is him.

Yes..it's on the SPEED channel. Lap 45 of 80. Mostly caution laps though. 3 of the 6 women have wrecked. Lol Danica is in 6th right now. Not doing too bad. She's been too afraid so far though.
  • GoChiefs
She just brought out the caution..impressed me too. Piquet forced her down..she got into the grass..slid around..kept the car under control..didn't hit anything. Great car control.
  • GoChiefs
Barry Fitzgerald just took a nasty ride...rolled it 6 or 7 times.
  • GoChiefs
Gerhart pretty much dominates the race. Pulling out the victory. Danica was very impressive in her first run...finished 7th. I admit..I was very surprised. She handled the car very well. She fell back to 23rd when she slid into the grass...still managed to come up towards the front. She ran a very solid race. Looks like she'll probably run in the Nationwide race now since she had a good run in this one.
  • pkebker
The shootout has been pretty good so far! It's hard to predict a winner...
  • GoChiefs
    I predict Harvick will win!

HELL YES ! Martin and Junior are my 2 favorite active drivers in Cup, on the front row. Danica made a couple of stunning world class saves. Door to door with the G.O.A.T. to the checkered flag. The last green segment was great driving by all 10 cars in the pack. My only disappointment was the tough luck for Alli Owens # 15. She was 3rd and got pinballed back in the middle and then caught up in someone's last lap wreck. ...PKJr killed his battery during the red ? We sat way up in the Sprint/Earnhardt Tower, entrance to pit road and where the woman in 48 rolled head on into the wall. Had the whole row to ourselves, more elbow room than I needed. Shootout is a good race for the grandstands.
The Bud Shootout was good. Seems like there is a bog down when you try to pass. The turbulence is crazy on the track at 180 - 185mph with a big pack of cars. Just toward the end when there was good shuffling going on, they had yellows. Big jumbotron tv on top of the garage showed a Stewart crewman running like hell with a part at the end of the 10 minute break. It was a 'shark fin' for the back window. Turbulence. The running replay was hilarious. Good side by side racing tonite. Good times. Now we'll see who keeps the back up on the hauler Thursday.

Harvicks a stud at restrictor plate races, especially Daytona. McMurray is also pretty darn good at Daytona. He's always a sleeper at plate races. I thought Jr. was unimpressive.
  • Speedofsand
Jr is on the pole for the 500 but in the back last night. Qualifying and race setups are more extreme here than anywhere. He could have been using the opportunity for R & D or they just missed the handle. Hendrick has Martin and Junior's teams working closer together since Homestead, like Gordon and Johnson always have. Nobody has appeared dominant yet. Its going to be fast and furious this week. Looking forward to Thursday. Going to be in the low 40's and windy tonite at Volusia for the Outlaws.

    Haha, that sounds about right...

The dirt track was awesome last night. Steve Kinser beat Saldana and Schatz in a great race. In the modifieds, Austin Dillon won. His brother Ty was top 5 until his right front went down. Kenny Wallace finished 3rd. Kenny Schrader fell from 4th to 8th with his left front suspension broken. He was carrying the left front tire off the ground though the turns. Clint Bowyer was 11th. Buzzie Reutimann was top 5 until the last few laps, he got hit and spun breaking something on the car. Buzzie finished 14th.

I think she deserves a chance. I was really impressed with her.
