He's good for two things, spending money (thank you) and turning over his front office constantly (not good). He's essentially a "Jerry Jones" of the NBA. Griff is gone because he wanted total roster responsibility and Gilbert said no because he wants to be able to help pick players. A good owner is going to be hands off. It's Gilbert's prerogative to want to have his fingers in the personnel pie but it usually doesn't equate to success.

The comment about Lebron had nothing to do with "hook, line & sinker." Even if he wasn't here and Gilbert were pulling the same shit he'd look just as inept in my eyes.
I'm not washing Gilbert of any blame, but to put it all on him is a complete joke. I would also venture to say that fanbases for 20 other NBA franchises would die to have an owner like Gilbert.

The cavs were bidding against themselves when the re-signed some key players, and that was all because of Lebron.

This isn't all on Gilbert, but it'd be nice if he could hire a GM.

Gilbert as an owner with some say in things did just win a championship. It's crazy to call him a bad owner who's only value is to spend money.

I'm actually okay with keeping the core the same, and adding some bench guys (which they've already done). I just hate that it's this difficult to get a GM here.

Maybe if a certain player wasn't resorting to his typical passive aggressive posturing they would have a gm now.

He really is exhausting. This offseason has been a big thumbs down IMO.

Believe me, LBJ is plenty to blame for their issues. Same thing happened his first go round with the organization. Bitch about not having pieces while you won't actively recruit.

I do feel that had Gilbert not let Griff walk that he (Griffin) would've been creative enough to swing a deal for either PG or Butler. That's on Gilbert.
  • BR1986FB
I'm of the same belief as S&L. I don't necessarily think they need a Big 4 as much as they need to keep leads when LBJ goes off the floor versus turning them into deficits. If they would've had a legit bench, that Finals would've been closer.

I don't think this huge gap that they're talking about between the Cavs & Warriors is all that huge.

I don't think Griff gets PG. Whether the reports are true or not the pacers GM reportedly had no interest in trading with Cleveland. It was always a pipe dream.

I am not saying Gilbert is perfect, but the media is so predictable and I can already see how they are trying to plant the seeds to turn this into another "LOL Cleveland fucks up again!!!" story if Lebron leaves. It's 100% bullshit and they can go fuck themselves.

Btw, Lebron was in Vegas working out and helping the cavs summer league team. The media of course didn't bother to report that.

Nope, but of course they reported how he was "scouting" Lonzo Ball in one of his games to size up the next team (Lakers) he was going to play for. smdh

I was wondering what you were talking about and then the "Cavs in serious talks with derek rose" notification came on my phone.

Did he get banned or is he just on hiatus? Haven't seen him post in awhile.

    This.

I'll take 18 ppg coming off the bench in relief of Kyrie. Just hope he's coming to join the Cleveland Cavaliers and not the Cleveland Clinic. :(

He would be a great bench addition. He will obviously get the minimum so can't really bitch there. Low risk high reward

He asked to have his account deleted. It's not, but he still has voluntarily left for now.

Sleeper had a nice little butt hurt rage quit.

Also I'd take rose too. He can't be any worse than Deron.

Something in the politics forum got under his skin so he started this thread then basically quit.

Yes, his own act drove him to cry and quit. It was pretty much self inflicted, which brings the lulz.

He won't be missed. Worst troll act I've seen.

He'll be back. The Ned Flanders "hi diddly ho" isadore act will get old.

You absolutely sign D Rose to be a backup to Kyrie. Apparently the Lakers are in talks with him as well.
