Definitely a BS story. But that would have really fucking pissed me off. -
BR1986FBNice read by Ken Carman at 92.3. They had a dumbass caller call in last week suggesting that the Cavs trade Lebron. I do agree that we, as fans, need to enjoy this for as long as it lasts. It may only be one more year, but when it's over, it's over. This team will be left an unwatchable/historically bad team when LBJ's run ends....

BR1986FBSo now it sounds like Boston wants to get a commitment from Gordon Hayward before going balls to the wall after Paul George. Gilbert is going to look like a real dipshit if he let Griff go, while Billups ponders this offer, and the Cavs lose out on PG because they don't have someone in place to get this done (not that I necessarily think Billups is qualified).

I highly doubt this is what is stopping PG from coming to Cleveland.BR1986FB;1860472 wrote:So now it sounds like Boston wants to get a commitment from Gordon Hayward before going balls to the wall after Paul George. friendfromlowryDepending on who they have to give up to get PG while landing Hayward also, Cleveland will be in trouble IMO. Also assuming Cleveland doesn't improve the roster much.
-
Laley23That makes Boston very good, but still not as good as Cavs. And neither would be as good as GSW
-
Laley23I also heard Billups has a handshake deal, but isn't singing so he can do "legal" tampering and asking around about players desires etc. Heard the names PJ Tucker and Rudy Gay. Guy was Twitter verified...but that doesn't mean much these days lol.

SportsAndLadySounds like Melo would accept a buyout to the cavs. I'd be alright with Melo in Cleveland.

I could see him hitting some big shots in a second half when it really mattered in the playoffs. I expect his defense would be better being that he might give a shitSportsAndLady;1860718 wrote:Sounds like Melo would accept a buyout to the cavs. I'd be alright with Melo in Cleveland. -

It's a no brainer to take on Melo for nothing.SportsAndLady;1860718 wrote:Sounds like Melo would accept a buyout to the cavs. I'd be alright with Melo in Cleveland. -
BR1986FBThis may sound odd, but I'm not all that upset about what's going on in the league right now, as far as the Cavs go. Would I have liked them to get PG? Sure, but these other teams may be helping them out in the West.
The Cavs are the team likely to come out of the East, barring injury, in 2017-2018. The Warriors just had their road to the Finals get tougher with HOU, MIN & OKC all strengthening their lineups. Not to mention SA will still be lurking. Do I think the Warriors will make it to the Finals? Yes, but it's going to be a helluva lot harder to do so. If someone can pry Iggy from them in FA, it will get the Cavs even closer.
Why I say this is that, even though GSW are more talented than the Cavs, one thing the Cavs had in their favor in 2016 was a Warriors team who had to go through a grueling series with OKC just prior. If the teams in the West beat up on each other in the playoffs, that's only going to help the Cavs chances. -

like_thatBR woj confirmed the celtics plan was to sign Hayward then trade for PG. The pacers GM apparently didn't want to wait so he traded PG.
Like I said, there are way too many dumb ass GMs to claim the cavs are one of the most dysfunctional teams in he NBA. Hell the Cavs are ahead of the curve by not having a gm that can do stupid shit [emoji23]. -

The Cavs keep looking at these end of their career guys with next to nothing left in the gas tank. -
Laley23Randolph off the bench would provide scoring. Which the Cavs sorely need.

They don't really have money for anyone else, do they?ppaw1999;1861095 wrote:http://www.cleveland.com/cavs/index.ssf/2017/07/zach_randolph_cavaliers_show_m.html

friendfromlowryhttp://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/19785438/lebron-james-not-actively-recruiting-cleveland-cavaliers-free-agency
I've always disliked Dave McMenamin. Yes I wish Lebron was recruiting but they signed Calderon without him. Perhaps Dan Gilbert shouldn't have ditched the mastermind GM with no real plan in place.
Also, don't tell us Lebron needs to be recruiting then say stuff like this:
Oh thank God we had those guys!James' calls to veterans such as Mike Miller and James Jones that were instrumental in those players' wanting to join the Cavs at a discount.
Lastly, can we move on from Billups already? This negotiation has been going on like two weeks now and instead of giving an answer, he's playing in that stupid fucking 3x3 tournament this weekend. Fuck that guy. -

I can't imagine there was a huge bidding war for him. Calderon is trash.friendfromlowry;1861145 wrote:Yes I wish Lebron was recruiting but they signed Calderon without him -

ppaw1999I think the Cavs next move should be a new head coach. There is something wrong when they sit Lebron James and play like garbage with Love and Uncle Drew still out there. That should be enough to smoke half of the teams in the NBA but they seem to always struggle when James isn't on the court. I don't think Lue knows how to get the most out of his roster no matter who he has on it.

ernest_t_bassKyle Korver making a cool $85k per game. He comes in and puts up what, 6 shots? That's $14k+ per shot.
The only thing this "off season" has done for me is make me incredibly pissed at what these fucking athletes make. It's absurd, but it's the idiots who tune in and buy tickets who are at fault. -

I'd rather the athletes get the money than the owners. I wish they got more of the pie not less. Sounds like you're more upset about the size of the pie tho.ernest_t_bass;1861243 wrote:Kyle Korver making a cool $85k per game. He comes in and puts up what, 6 shots? That's $14k+ per shot.

Although it's fun to see some of these players getting the money they are getting, overall I dgaf and can't blame them. They are getting paid this much, because the NBA has been pretty successful. I see the bubble popping soon though.Commander of Awesome;1861247 wrote:I'd rather the athletes get the money than the owners. I wish they got more of the pie not less. I would just like the owners to take back some control. If they are going to be paying these players 200M guarantee, they should be able to tag them. It's just crazy to me how much power the owners gave up to the players. Any superstar can completely influence where they want to go. PG and Melo are just the latest examples. -

BR1986FBBillups turns down the Cavs. Don't know whether he would've been good, or not, but this is definitely not a positive look. Tells me he may know a little about Lebron's future plans or doesn't trust that he'll stay.
