Both valid opinions, although one can question the value of reps against the back end of the roster and guys who will be working the Citgo next week.

Makes you wonder why now? Did Haden request a trade? Do we feel better about players behind him now after TC and preseason? Or, most likeley, Haden that bad?
Play's right in to Donovan's comment. Why keep him if you have two (younger) guys better & cheaper? I don't know about Haden requesting a trade but it's probably more of your last two comments.

Was watching him in that last game and he seems to let guys get behind him way too easily. I think he gets a lot more credit than he deserves sometimes. He's fared pretty well against AJ Green but gets beaten like a drum by Antonio Brown.

He has no idea what he's talking about
Isn't Monty Brunswick one of thavoice's alts? If so, I was cracking up the other day when I saw thavoice quote and respond to Monty on another thread.

I think you let Kizer play the 4th preseason game. The more game action reps the better. I'd play him the 1st quarter or even the first half and try to get him as ready as possible for week 1. Kizer is a pretty big guy so I'm not crazy concerned about injury. Just have to tell him to not take unnecessary hits.

Browns have cut Haden, according to Ian Rapoport.
  • BR1986FB
Saw that coming like a freight train. Best of luck to him.

They had to do something. You're not going to pay a guy $11M/yr to cover the slot and he's too dainty to move to safety. Unfortunately, they couldn't find a trade partner. Hope he ends up with a contender, outside of the division. Good guy who was "All In" for Cleveland.

I heard they had a deal for him during the offseason but it fell through. Doesn't help that he has looked like trash in preseason too. Shame, but his production just wasn't worth $11M. They supposedly met with Drew before the Tampa game, probably to ask for a restructuring, and that's why the trade rumors leaked recently.

I always will respect Haden for the Love he gave to Cleveland. I am happy our FO doesn't blindly stay loyal to vets that can no longer perform at a high level though. Now, if he goes to pitt, bal, or cincy he can go fuck himself.

Less than 24 hours from when Grossi promised he wasn't gonna be cut. Lol

All of the Bengals beat writers gave it a 0% on Twitter. They're set at CB. I saw Kansas City, Green Bay, and another NFC team I can't remember as possible destinations.

Very well said, and I agree.

Sad to see him go, he embraced the city and was a fan favorite.

I don't get the logic of expecting a player who was cut not to go to a division rival.
  • iclfan2
Why? He'll go wherever they pay him the most. I'm not real worried about him going to the Steelers. Look how Gilbert worked out for them. I trust Kizer can throw to our shitty receivers right at Haden and get yards.
  • kizer permanente
I can.. kind of.. understand some animosity if you don't re-sign with your team and sign with a rival. But being cut... no. go wherever you can/want.
  • Laley23
Yeah, if he sucks let him go there. Makes them worse lol.
  • BR1986FB
It just sucks. I get it. The man will look to get paid wherever he wants. Just would suck, regardless of whether he's good or bad, to see "Mr Cleveland" wearing piss & black.

I don't expect a former player to make FA decisions based on his former fans, but to me being a Steeler = POS. Therefore Joe can go fuck himself. I don't care if he was traded there, I would feel the same.
  • SportsAndLady
Good luck to em. Not too worried about him turning into a star for Pittsburgh tho, he isn't very good anymore.

I'll be the insensitive one and say they won't after this hurricane.

$9m seems like a lot for Haden based on current production, no? How does that compare to other last leg CBs?
  • iclfan2
the Steelers PAID Haden, my goodness.
