They lost to the Steelers backup squad for fucks sake. The patch up job on the O-line and the rookies aren't all of a sudden giving the Browns 11 winnable games.
They were also a pissing down their leg against the Jets, Rats, Redskins & Dolphins from winning 4 more, which I expect them to be better at (closing) this year.

I may swing & miss on this but I think they will finish ahead of Cincinnati in the division and Baltimore doesn't impress me either. Pittsburgh has the benefit of playing in a very shitty division.

11 "winnable" games? Nah, but there are 7-8.

Dalton's oline didn't impress me today, esp the LT. I'm not ready to say they'll be worse than the browns, but I dont see them making the playoffs if they continue that oline play into the reg season. I still think Ravens are the worst in the division this yr.

    This will be their downfall.

Upsets happen sure, but just because the game is "winnable" doesn't mean we are going to win. We're going to be pretty bad, even games that we can win, we'll be 4 point underdogs going into it.

    4 wins, MAX.
    Over/under is 4.5

The voice of the Browns, Jim Donovan, made the comment yesterday (which should have been made long ago) that "Joe Haden is the third best corner on this team." With Haden's declining play, and the Browns youth movement, could Haden be in danger of being cut?

Also, with the fact that Kizer has been named the starter, do you throw him out there for a series Thursday night or let him sit 3 weeks for the opener?

IMO, the more reps he can get with the first team the better

Agreed but I'd throw in the caveat that I'd want JT protecting his backside, and JT isn't expected to play. If Cam Erving is healthy and plays LT, Kizer may not make it to week 1. :(

1 series. That's it. And that's if at all.

This. Normally I'd say sit the starters in the 4th preseason game, but the more reps he can get in, the better.
  • kizer permanente
good.. he hasn't been good in years.
  • kizer permanente
Last thing we need is Kizer getting hurt in preseaon and missing this year and leaving us not knowing what to do in the draft. Sit him.

Who is going to take Haden's $11M contract? you'd have to have some shitty cbs.

You do that with a proven veteran, not a rookie who hasn't taken a snap at the pro level yet. He needs the reps.

yes..which he'll get plenty of in 16 games with lineman that can protect him. He doesn't need preseason reps. We're not going anywhere this year. This is asinine.

    lol, whatever

You're advocating getting him more reps with bad lineman in a game that doesn't count... because...maybe he can win 1 more game this year? yes. That's asinine. He'll get plenty of reps in the season when his likelihood of getting hurt is much lower.

Who said anything about winning a game? my opinion's that he needs as many reps as he can get, and yours is that you'd rather him sit so he doesn't get hurt...I get it...moving along...

Fair enough. "lol whatever" I thought meant you disagreed and it was a ridiculous notion. That's why I responded.

Pretty sure you're always wrong. So there's that.

Timing on this is very poor. The time to move on from Haden was in the offseason, not on the eve of the regular season. Anything happening is very unlikely. Makes you wonder why now? Did Haden request a trade? Do we feel better about players behind him now after TC and preseason? Or, most likeley, Haden that bad?
