2017 Browns Off-Season Thread

With JT and Bitonio playing, I think the line should be much improved and what makes me think is part of the reason they thought Kizer should be good to go. If our line was still terrible you wouldn't want to put a rookie out there (who takes long in the pocket) to get killed.vball10set;1868333 wrote:He's obviously the best of the three, but I sure hope he (and the Oline) are ready.
Also, was last weeks talking up Brock just some sort of BS out of camp or what? -

But it still matters. A HC always is going to set the precedent. He's always going to set the tone of the locker room. To say you don't care or it doesn't matter is a bit disingenuous imo.like_that;1868334 wrote:I honestly don't give a fuck what the rest of the team thinks. They all need to focus on playing better, before they start QQing about the coaching staff evalautions of their teammates. -

In a season where the Browns will be going nowhere, excuse me for not giving a fuck if some players get butthurt, because they believe brock will give them a 5 win season instead of a 2-3 win season. Each player needs to focus on doing their job (whjich hasn't been done in the 10 years if you have been paying attention), before they start QQing about other jobs.kizer permanente;1868337 wrote:But it still matters. I highly doubt any of the players think Brock would give them a 5 win season, and that's the whole point of this. It would have been safe for Hue to go with the veteran as far as looks go. It's not a secret the team thinks Kizer is better. Hence, the bad look from the players perspective.like_that;1868339 wrote:In a season where the Browns will be going nowhere, excuse me for not giving a fuck if some players get butthurt, because they believe brock will give them a 5 win season instead of a 2-3 win season. Hue made the right move. I think you agree with that. You just don't care if it sent the right message. That's fine. But I think it does/did. -

My post was based on reports that the players expect and want Brock to start the season.kizer permanente;1868340 wrote:I highly doubt any of the players think Brock would give them a 5 win season, and that's the whole point of this. Ok. I haven't seen any of those. I saw Thomas expected BO to start, but he never indicated he'd prefer him. I've never heard any player say they prefer him? I have seen multiple players praise Kizer though.like_that;1868342 wrote:My post was based on reports that the players expect and want Brock to start the season. -
Con_AlmaOsweiler isn't scheduled to play at all in the final preseason game which is unusual...unless they are trying to deal him. There's a rumor out there that the Browns may be in talks with the Colts regarding Osweiler. What's Andrew Luck's injury status???

Phllip Dorsett perhaps?

kizer permanenteGiven that the Texans had to give us a 2nd rounder to take Osweiler, I can't imagine there's a market for him.

lol anything would be nice. Is anyone desperate enough to trade for him though? There's literally thousands of Brock Osweilers in the world that don't make 18 mil.like_that;1868368 wrote:I'd take a box of footballs. -

How about you google every depth chart in the nfl and cfl and ex college QB's that aren't in either league and there's your answer.Commander of Awesome;1868371 wrote:Oh yeah? Name 50. -

There was a joke? It wasn't very good then.like_that;1868416 wrote:The joke went over your head. -
kizer permanenteI think I get the joke. Everyone, including us, think Osweiler is terrible. I just think he's as terrible as a lot of people and you only think he's as terrible as most people. Lol. And we're arguing the degree of his terribleness! Lol. This definitely seems like a worthwhile argument lol

BR1986FBSounds like the front office's plan (not necessarily Hue's) was to start Kizer, in week 1, all along. Pretty shitty idea taking away reps from him so they could try to showcase Osweiler for a trade, imo.
