I agree with this.like_that;1852540 wrote:Also say all you want about how Gordon is a dumb fuck and brought this upon himself, but can't we all agree that the dude has done his time? He hasn't played a snap since December 2014.
I remember the site hypothesis from last year being that the reason he checked himself into rehab voluntarily was probably because he knew he'd done something and figured it'd be better to be proactive than get nailed again. Don't know if there was anything to that, but I recall people here thinking that was likely the case.ironman02;1852543 wrote:So Gordon was reinstated before, but chose to check himself into rehab to prevent a backslide, right? Now when he applies for reinstatement, he gets denied?
That doesn't make much sense, especially since he has had no type of violation since the last time. Either there's something that hasn't been made public, or Goodell is just, well, Goodell. -

I already got the news, probably a half hour before this thread. That wasn't the point. I asked what did he ACTUALLY DO to not get reinstated. Looking for hearsay, rumors, etc....like_that;1852520 wrote:Clicking on the link helps. -
Al BundyGordon was reinstated in the summer of 2016. Did he get another suspension that I don't remember? If not, why does he even have to apply to be reinstated again?
-
BR1986FBGordon's technically not suspended, he's banned. He's not part of the NFL right now. My prediction would be that he never plays another down for any team in the league and, frankly, I don't think we wants to.
I think he loves the attention that everyone gives his workout pics/videos and when he "likes" their "come play for my team" posts.
I think he probably likes the weekly paychecks he was getting from the NFL but do I think he actually likes being an NFL player? No. Dude has played in 5 of his last 48 games.
At this point, even if he gets reinstated, I let him rot on the roster. Don't need him in the locker room to be a bad influence on guys like Kizer and the kid from Michigan.
He has no one to blame but himself for this shit. I read the comment about "he's done his time" but he has no one but his colleagues who agreed to that dumbass CBA a few years can be blamed for that.
At some point the NFL will have no issue with weed and Gordon will be the Hall of Famer that "could've been." -
BR1986FBFormer Browns WR Michael Jackson, who lead the league in TD receptions in 1996, was killed in a motorcycle accident. RIP

Benny The Jet...annnnd 4th round CB Howard Wilson suffers "significant" patella injury.
-
Azubuike24Reminds of Andrew Billings from last year. A 4th rounder, but thought he would definitely play right away. Hardly knew you.

SportsAndLadyDamn that sucks

Crimson streakDamn I had high hopes for him this year too. Luckily it's not an injury that could ruin a career but still sucks

In reality though, any season-ending injury could ruin a career. You never know what kind of confidence a player might lose coming back from something like this. That can be huge.Crimson streak;1852859 wrote:Damn I had high hopes for him this year too. Luckily it's not an injury that could ruin a career but still sucks

SportsAndLadyEspecially one who played 16 career games in 3 collegiate seasons

Pick6IDK how you fracture your knee cap in a non-contact mini camp but what do I know. FWIW I heard he can be back this season, though probably sometime in the middle of it. Gives a chance for somebody like Stribling to make the team.

The best part was Joe's response..."I am a player/coach. I will be mostly coaching, but you will see me on the field on Sundays."BR1986FB;1852707 wrote:LOL (facepalm)...

SportsAndLadyHearing really good things from Njoku at Rookie Minicamp.
Everything that has come out has said he's a freak and is impressing. Nice to see. -

Looks like we signed him to be a FS, and why was he a FA? He's supposed to be good, right?BR1986FB;1853429 wrote:Browns ink Jason McCourty...

He's decent (69 tackles, 2 INT's last year). I think he did well in Williams' system previously. Probably a FA because he's 29. I don't expect him to be an impact guy.....just part of the rotation back there.Commander of Awesome;1853469 wrote:Looks like we signed him to be a FS, and why was he a FA? Pick6I think he was also cut because the Titans didn't want to pay him whatever his contract was (which I believe was high). Depth piece at worst, which was needed.

BR1986FBDoesn't mean he didn't do it but this is good news for the Browns, rolling the dice on him....

The battery charge against #Browns draft pick Caleb Brantley was closed due to “insufficient evidence,” per Alachua County Court documents. -

The haslam's really did there homework on him before drafting him. As much as we bitch about jimmy, it looks like he did a good job here and could be the steal of the draft.BR1986FB;1853583 wrote:Doesn't mean he didn't do it but this is good news for the Browns, rolling the dice on him....

He will not require surgery and could be back by mid-season.Pick6;1852995 wrote:IDK how you fracture your knee cap in a non-contact mini camp but what do I know. The Browns also signed Miles Garrett to his rookie deal.
