The pats are dumb as hell then if they don't trade him. He's going to leave after next season and get paid. I still say they trade himSportsAndLady;1840787 wrote:Schefty reporting Pats aren't trading jimmy G no matter the offer. Fack

MKC is obsessed with Jimmy G. I think she gets wet over just the mention of his name. She'd give up the whole draft and half of next years, just to get him here so she could look at him every day.like_that;1840789 wrote:Did you all see the tweet from MKC (obviously take it with a grain of salt) that the pats would ask for the Browns two first round picks this year and their 2018 first round pick for Jimmy?
LOL they can fuck themselves to hell if they really expect that. The moneyball browns wouldn't do it anyway. Sashi Brown made no mention of Brock and showed all the excitement in the world for gaining more picks when he was speaking to the press [emoji23].
I've heard the #12, a 2nd this year (Tennessee's pick) and two 2nd's next year for compensation, which I think is still overpaying. I think they can get him for a handful of 2nd's and may not need to use any 1st's (likely wrong though).
I really like what they've done, so far, but if they don't get the QB this year, to move forward with, a lot of this will be a big disappointment to me. -

Schefty said they'll sign him after this season and give him the starting position within a year. Meaning, they're giving Brady two more years and then it's Jimmy's team.Crimson streak;1840790 wrote:The pats are dumb as hell then if they don't trade him. And yeah like that I saw that report too. The pats can go fuck themselves if they want three 1st rounders. -

Agree with your last paragraph. It'd be pretty deflating to have a "great" off-season but then go into another season with average at best QB's.BR1986FB;1840792 wrote:MKC is obsessed with Jimmy G. Not so sure I agree with your second paragraph anymore. Sounds like the Pats have no interest in trading him and have a "silent agreement" with jimmy that he'll be the starter soon. Ugh -

All speculation and I call bullshit. Bill isn't going to promise anyone a starting job, not even Brady lmao. I think there is a 65% chance he gets traded on draft day.SportsAndLady;1840797 wrote:Agree with your last paragraph. I really believe Bill is done when Brady is. -

Define "soon" because, unless Brady dies, he's likely playing another 2-3 more years at a fairly high level. Unless TB's told someone internally that he's retiring after the 2017-18 season, Jimmy G's likely going to be sitting for quite some time.SportsAndLady;1840797 wrote:Agree with your last paragraph. justincredibleI think there is a 47% chance he's traded. I don't think Bill retires when Brady does, I think he'll want to win another SB without Brady.

If they get this done, I think they'll get it done before the draft. It seems like these trades used to happen when a team was on the clock, but lately have been getting done well before the draft.like_that;1840798 wrote:All speculation and I call bullshit. iclfan2If Garrapolo is really off the table, we still have a ton of picks to move up from 12 and grab whoever Hue wants. (I hope it's Trubisky) Shall we start that debate?
-
like_thatI didn't realize Brock has offsetting language in his contract (i.e. he gets paid 4 mil, we only owe 12). If he gets cut and signed for $8M+ AND the browns cut RG3, they essentially got a 2nd round pick for free.

Agreed. So they are going to franchise jimmy next year and pay him all the money to be a back up qb? The pats don't even want to pay there stars let alone a back up qb. He's going to get a lot of money next offseason and bill is just trying to drive up the price on him to absolutely fleece someone. Luckily this regime isn't fucking retarded and will tell bill to go fuck himself. The browns have the most assets and bill knows that. He's just trying to get everything he can from the browns. The way this front office has operated so far, I doubt they even offered the 33 or the 12 at all for him. It will all change come closer to the draft and the asking price will go down.like_that;1840798 wrote:All speculation and I call bullshit. That's why I think we're hearing this stuff about the Browns trying to move Osweiler for a 3rd rounder. I think they want to throw a bunch of 2nd's (and 3rd's?) at NE and hope to get JG without using the #12.Crimson streak;1840808 wrote:Agreed. And that's why all of these naysayers laughing about this trade are idiots. Osweiler isn't going to cost them $16-17M if they keep him for this year. If they release Griffin, it becomes half that. If they trade Osweiler, with that language, even better because I don't see RGIII on this roster.like_that;1840807 wrote:I didn't realize Brock has offsetting language in his contract (i.e. he gets paid 4 mil, we only owe 12). bases_loadedMKC on Ken Carman Show this morning, said if it takes #1 overall to get Jimmy, you do it...L O F'n L. Two 2s or GTFO out, I'd rather roll with Brock and QB drafted at 12 than give a kings ransom for a guy who has started 2 games and got hurt(and I believe hes better than any QB in the draft right now).

I'm in the minority, but I don't think any of these QB's are worth a top 10 pick. I'd move up, but for CB/S help (Hooker's going to be a Pro-Bowler within 2 years). Next year's QB class is *supposed* to be much better than this years. We'll still be picking in top 10 next year. I'd take Mahomes #1 Rd.2 if there though.iclfan2;1840803 wrote:If Garrapolo is really off the table, we still have a ton of picks to move up from 12 and grab whoever Hue wants. I don't think it's speculation at all. Think about it. The Pats see Gorrapolo every day. They know he's a very good QB. You don't just send good QB's away to draft a DT with the 12th overall pick. Especially when your starting QB is 40 something years old.like_that;1840798 wrote:All speculation and I call bullshit. Bill isn't going to promise anyone a starting job, not even Brady lmao. It's not so much "promising a starting spot" to someone it's stashing a good QB behind your aging great QB for when your aging QB is done. It's smart. -
BR1986FB
It's smart to have a backup plan but if your QB is Tom Brady, who is showing no signs of slowing down, tagging your backup for 20M+ isn't so smart. Unless the Pat's work out a long term deal with JG, tagging him the next few years would be dumb, when Brady has given the impression he plans on playing several more years.SportsAndLady;1840820 wrote:I don't think it's speculation at all. Do you see jimmy out there asking for a trade? Do you see him making public comments about wanting to be the starter somewhere?
No.
He seems like a low maintenance guy who is perfectly fine sitting behind brady for the next 2-3 years and then taking over from there. Obviously, he'll find a way to get his money where it doesn't hamstring the Pats. -
BR1986FBMaster Tesfatsion‏Verified account @ MasterTes UFA WR Terrelle Pryor met with the # Redskins Thursday night but left Friday without a deal, per source.
At this point, don't care if they keep him or not...just throwing out an update -

I'm right there with you. No QB in this class gets me excited or makes me think any of them will be a top 15 starter in the league. Mahomes has the most tools, but also needs the most work.Benny The Jet;1840818 wrote:I'm in the minority, but I don't think any of these QB's are worth a top 10 pick. So bc BR thinks that MKC thinks Jimmy G is cute, means she's "getting wet" just by his name? And is thus campaigning to do whatever it takes to get him in Cleveland? That's some next level shit right there.like_that;1840840 wrote:Pretty self explanatory to me.
