The offseason begins... Tribe Hot Stove 2016-2017

I really enjoyed watching the Indians during the postseason. Fun team, just hope the fans in Cleveland took notice and continues to support them next season

There was an article saying they've sold way more tickets already. 4K more season tickets.
Also saw today where Franconia said Clevinger is throwing harder already, and saw a picture of lindor looking jacked. Ready for the season to start and praying they don't disappoint. Only concerning thing I saw was where Tito wasn't sure if Kluber would start the opener.

What's the rotation going to look like this year?
    Kluber
    Carrasco
    Salazar
    Bauer
    Tomlin?

I've read some good reports about Clevinger. Does he start off as long reliever/spot starter? Any chance Merrit gets a look?

If you guise need another reliable starter the Reds have Bronson Arroyo who can hit 84 on the gun. Also have Homer Bailey who has 2 no hitters.....probably only cost you Lindor and Miller

    Only if it's Cornrows Arroyo

Been a minute since any updates on here...
Kip to miss opening day, he said if it were mid-season he'd play through it
Carrasco had mri today after getting shelled yesterday, no issues shown, just a flat fastball
Bradley Zimmer looks legit at the plate
Brantley coming along slowly. Playing in minor league game this week
  • iclfan2
Kinda worried about Carrasco and Kipnis. Nice to see Zimmer looking good but is there a spot for him? Meija supposedly looks good too.

Yes, his natural position, CF. Unless Naquin learned to hit a high fastball, he wont be there long.

That said, keep Frazier in the minors for as long as possible. This is not a Lindor case where keeping it down is stupid and hurting the franchise.

So Ramirez 2B, Urshela or Diaz at 3B?

Sounds like Richie Shaffer is now in the mix at 3rd now, too. http://www.cleveland.com/pluto/index.ssf/2017/03/cleveland_indians_goodyear_scr_5.html

It's nice to see Brantley out there doing things on a baseball field.
  • iclfan2
I'd love to see Diaz's bat out there.

If only he was better defensively. Tito has basically said Yandy is above average already at the plate versus MLB pitchers, but has a lot of work to do in the field, so we won't see him unless that changes or it's an emergency.

Tribe inks Jose Ramirez thru 2021... plus club options for 2022 and 2023 :)

Chatter has been slow. I'm sure it will pickup as the season starts. I just hope this season isn't 2008 all over again because this team has all the makings to be right back where they were last year.

Anyone want to share comments on Austin Jackson?

Looks like Abe will be the odd man out in the OF. Who we keep as utility and temp 3rd will be interesting. When is the final roster due?

I really really hope it is diaz. He can really swing it.

I don't think so. Not MLB ready with glove. If he was, he would be starting over Gio U because Diaz can rake.

It's a nice problem to have trying to figure out where to stash guys.
But we've seen this before, the young guy with options left goes back to AAA. No worries though, he'll be back as soon as someone falters or gets hurt, as invariably happens.
  • TBone14
Lindor on the cover of Sports Illustrated.....for kids.

Is there a SI for Kids cover jinx??? I hope not.
  • ohiobucks1
Diaz is batting cleanup today, let's hope he continues to rake and can force Tito to keep him
