How does the whole All-star game/Monday game stuff work? Are they sold separately? Packaged together? Season ticket holders get 1st dibs?

^^^^^ I've always wondered if your Avatar was Jimmy Piersall.

    Care to give the story?

It's Benny the Jet Rodriguez from the sandlot. It was my favorite movie growing up

It sucks that they are trading Chief Wahoo for an all-star game.

Season ticket holders will get first dibs and many sell for much higher price.

You can buy them together or separate. When you buy together you get same seats. I bought all-star game tickets knowing where the best seats were in my price range....bought HR derby tickets after hearing participants were mostly RH batters and bought them for the action in LF bleachers....bought Futures game/celebrity softball tickets so we could sit in shade because it was during hot afternoon.

Also the Fanfest is really cool and I recommend it.....screw the autograph lines though. The dugout discussion sessions were incredible. Showed up 15 min early and sat front row 6 feet away from Dave Winfield and Barry Larkin as they do interviews and field questions from crowd.

I took in everything with my son and wife joined in for Fanfest. Had prime derby seats (2) and very good game seats (2)....parking and everything and spent right around $2,000

Would do again in a heartbeat.

    Wily Mo? Wow.

Hope he puts ball in play enough to give him chances to hit the shots he can hit. He has Giancarlo power.

This is the type of "big name splash" I'm used to the Tribe making from the mid 2000's. Grab a guy who used to be good, cross fingers for lightning in a bottle! Glad they countered this with Encarnacion.

He is much higher LHP .275 v RHP .236. If he makes the roster and it is a super platoon?:

    RHP:
    LF- Brantley
    CF- Naquin
    RF- Chiz

    LHP:
    LF- Guyer
    CF- Brantley
    RF- WMP

I'll be shocked if he's in the OF much at all. Dude is a DH type. He's hit the hardest hit ball I've ever seen live. That guy banging that drum is in danger if he catches one.

Then he will be regulated to pitch hitting which is not needed. EE & Santana will be the DH 100% of the time.

Well, he wasn't much in the field at age 25...maybe he's developed that overseas

The reaction of others is telling.

I'm not a fan of the Willy-Mo signing, I don't think it'll amount to anything....I doubt he makes it out of spring training. I do however like the Boone Logan signing they made today. I think he could really help in the bullpen, especially being a lefty which they're short on.
  • Sonofanump
Surprised the Tribe put up 5.5m for a middle reliever.

Logan is fantastic versus lefties. That signing is very underrated. So pumped for it.

Yes. That is a lot for a guy that will be facing one or two batters at a time. I guess they needed this since all of the starters are RHP.

What lefties do they even have in the pen, since that's where Logan will be? Miller, then next is Crocket who appeared in 24 games. They need lefties. Just happy to see Indians spending.

Side note, any chance Merrit comes out of the pen to start the year? Would he be next man up in rotation due to injury?

I'm hoping Wily Mo is in Columbus. Guy hits the ball harder than any player I've ever seen in my life. Nobody else is really close. He just doesn't hit it enough.

Stanton right there too when he catches them.

Well, you can't keep trucking Miller out there night after night... having a lights out match up lefty is huge.

I give up, where would the Indians put Utley?

Read that he may be there if they don't think Brantley will be ready, Jose to LF and Utley to 3B
