Browns vs Steelers

My apologies to Mike Pettine for thinking he was an idiot for his halftime "we have to calm Johnny down" comments. Apparently, he was right.

Dustin Fox (former NFL/OSU player) was breaking down Manziel's performance after watching it on the "All 22" and he said JFF left plays all over the field. First pass that he had to throw away, he got happy feet and completely missed a wide open Duke Johnson, who had at least 10 yards, if not the end zone, in front of him.

On the play where JFF threw off his back foot and hit Benjamin, there was a pocket there but instead of stepping up into it, hitting Benjamin in stride, he panicked and threw off his back foot. If he would've stayed in the pocket, in many cases, he would've had some better opportunities.

On the play before his "Johnny Football" TD pass to Johnson he had Gabriel open for a TD. Unfortunately, Gabriel probably would've dropped it.

Main reason I mention this is that Fox has watched more than his share of game film and would know what to look at.

With all of this being said, I still think Pettine needs to go and that Manziel needs to start so we can shut up the JFF fanboys and move on to a new QB next year.

I will post that link again with the title, because maybe if he reads it out-loud FW will finally learn.

"Johnny Manziel Isn't Ready to Start, Not Even Close"

Interesting that you posted that because it was this article that prompted Dustin Fox to go back to the All 22 and scrutinize Manziel's play.

And I just puked in my mouth....

Sounding more & more like TheRapist will be out as he didn't practice yesterday. Of note, D'Angelo Williams & Ryan Shazier (who I think has been injured off & on) are also questionable for this one.

No way Roethlisberger plays. The talk of the possibility of it was nonsense.

I'll be pissed if no Williams. Then they gotta rely on...Isaiah Pead?

The article I saw said Pead was "hoping to see his first action." I'll be surprised if Williams doesn't go. Article said it was a foot injury.

Doesn't matter who is running the ball and what line he is running behind, he can still get over 100 yards vs the browns.
  • Automatik
I read an article talking about the best backs available. Steven Jackson still looking to play lol

Also Montee Ball, surprised he couldn't hack it in the league.

True....maybe they could sign Trent Richardson.......

Lol at br changing his mind after Cleveland radio.

    Agreed

And BTW, the "Cleveland radio" guy that you mentioned isn't just some local schlub sports talk guy. I think he sucks on sports talk but he is a former NFL player who might know a thing or two about film analysis.

I would give Ball a shot

Will be ticked if Williams isn't playing.

    Need to win this game

Leave it to you in puking in your mouth. Johnny hater Dustin Fox said Manziel missed from reads. What a shock I tell ya. You can find every quarterback missing things on all 22...Brady, Breez, Manning, Rogers...all of them miss reads.

But Johnny in his fourth career start can't miss any... um, gotcha. Don't worry, the media will run the kid out of town. You'll get your Christian Hackenburg under center next year and then you can book your flight to the Super Bowl.

Manziel is the heir to Romo in Dallas...and he will do just fine...just not in this fucked up football town.

From Buttmunch Bishop...to Bruce Hooley..to Fox, Bull, and Rizzo, the collective media is on a mission to chase away a guy who will become a great franchise quarterback...in a different city.

The Browns fans will be blasting their horns and pounding their drums come draft day next spring for the flag waving moment when super stiff, Connor Cook or clone Christian Hackenburg puts on his Browns cap. What a joke indeed.

People in the media are pounding their puds regarding Derek friekin Carr...he of 76 passer rating last year...but are quick to crown Manziel a bust after 4 starts in the NFL.

It's not just the organization that reeks..but the collection of radio so called know-it-alls that smells ten times worse.

Manziel played really well against the Titans, hurling 2 60 yard strikes to Benjamin and ripped the Bengal defense apart in the first half...a defense that completely stifled future HOFer Ben Roesthlesberger in Pittsburgh the previous week.

"But, but. but, all 22 says..all 22 says...." LMAO.

Pettine and Farmer will get theirs soon enough...and the next clown will come in and try to win with a new quarterback bum. The difference will be management wont put up with the new coach having their rookie quarterback rotting away on the bench.

Good bye Johnny...you will be much happier in Dallas leading the Cowboys to the playoffs for the next 5 years.

Johnny can't read a defense, is a poor decision maker, has a weak arm, is a train-wreck off the field, and is a huge distraction. The organization won't win until we get a good talent evaluator.

Amen. Just like Weeden, Richardson, Phil Taylor, Justin Gilbert and Mingo (my personal belief), Manziel was a wasted pick.

Johnny Kardashian was already "boo hooing" to the media yesterday about "not being able to see his receivers." Smooth move, dumbass. Not that everyone doesn't know you can't play from the pocket but now you've pretty much confirmed it to the world.

Man you're dense. Dustin Fox only picked apart Manziel's performance by watching the ALL-22 because he read the SB Nation article, written by ANOTHER FORMER NFL player (who has watched plenty of game film). I'm going to trust a former player, who has been in the league and watched game film for YEARS, over a mathematically challenged OC poster who is probably sitting outside of Manziel's house, right now, hoping for an autograph.

Footwedge;1762845 wrote: Manziel played really well against the Titans,
8 of 15 with a big chunk of those yards coming on a broken/schoolyard improvisation bomb to Benjamin on the 2nd TD. He sure played "really" well. He played adequate, making most want to see a little more.

Where your man love for Mr Kardashian falls short is that his style of play is not sustainable. Nothing should piss a WR off more than knowing that they can't hone their craft & run crisp routes because every time the midget drops back it's a complete schoolyard football jailbreak in that they have to scrap their patterns and just run around, trying to get open while Verne Troyer does his "thing" back there.

Teams figure this shit out quickly. Collapse the pocket, with outside contain, and Manziel is screwed because he doesn't play well from the pocket and he can't see over the line.
  • BR1986FB
And as far as this game goes, I heard TheRapist actually practiced yesterday, but was limited, so there's still a chance he plays. Think it would be a dumb move on Pittsburgh's part but whatever.
  • Automatik
I can't believe Manziel actually said he can't see over the line. Dumbass comment.
