Browns vs Steelers

AutomatikWeird. Gotta think the organization has given up on the possibility of Manziel being "the guy."

More like HC has given up on being the browns hc next season. Petty Pettine's last few games as browns hc starts now.Automatik;1762363 wrote:Weird. Gotta think the organization has given up on the possibility of Manziel being "the guy." -

No, coa is right. Pettine hates manziel and refuses to start him. He knows he's getting the boot so he's refusing to play manziel.Automatik;1762363 wrote:Weird. Gotta think the organization has given up on the possibility of Manziel being "the guy." -
BR1986FBJust throw Manziel out there. So tired of this shit. Get it over with, once and for all so we can all see JFF isn't "the guy" and they can move on to the next QB with the #1 or #2 pick in the draft.

shook_17I can't wait til pettine is fired. He is stubborn as hell. Bring on Paxton Lynch.

If they get embarrassed by Landry Jones, does Pettine make it to the Monday Night Baltimore game? Any possibilities on him being canned during the bye week?Commander of Awesome;1762364 wrote:More like HC has given up on being the browns hc next season. I have begun to think of it as a disorganization. If Pettine is not gone after the loss to the Steelers, something is indeed wrong.....he's got pictures or something.Weird. Gotta think the organization has given up on the possibility of Manziel being "the guy." -

I have been saying this for weeks....BR1986FB;1762367 wrote:Just throw Manziel out there. So tired of this shit. Get it over with, once and for all so we can all see JFF isn't "the guy" and they can move on to the next QB with the #1 or #2 pick in the draft. -

And as sad as it may sound, I want Manziel out there because I think he gives the Browns the best chance to LOSE. I don't want them screwing with that top 3 pick, playing McCown, and pulling a "Mangini", winning 1 or 2 meaningless games, falling just short of the QB drafting "sweet spot." I want them to get it RIGHT this time. No shit for brains QB's with all of the physical talent in the world (Weeden/DA....although they didn't draft DA) and no friggin midgets (McCoy/Manziel).rrfan;1762374 wrote:I have been saying this for weeks....
Yeah, it sucks to have that mindset because you want your team to win but enough is enough. The Cavs had to suck ass to get LBJ & Kyrie. Now it's time for the Browns to get their future QB. -
AutomatikIf top 3, who would you go for at QB?
Said it long before the 2014 the draft, Bridgewater was the guy. He coulda been a Brown. -
BR1986FB
Right now (way too early as someone will look good at the Combine and be the "next big thing") the top 3 would probably be Goff, Lynch & Cook from MSU.Automatik;1762382 wrote:If top 3, who would you go for at QB?

iclfan2Goff would greatly benefit from another year in school.
As for Pettine, hi and the front office are so apart on the "plan". Digging his own grave, and farmer will be out the door with him. If the organization wants to see Johnny before the season is up, might have to get rid of Pettine to do it.

Personally I was on the Derek Carr bandwagon and he falls under the same thing. Could've been a Brown...Automatik;1762382 wrote:If top 3, who would you go for at QB?

Could it be the organization has already seen enough of JFF in the limited games/practice time to know he's not a starting NFL QB? I doubt that's the case and tend to lean more toward the groups' conspiracy theory that Pettine is giving Farmer the big "screw you" by not playing him.iclfan2;1762426 wrote:Goff would greatly benefit from another year in school.

Pettine keeps using the "it's not fair to the veterans to play a bunch of young guys" line. -
BR1986FBAnd I doubt TheRapist plays but he hasn't been ruled out for Sunday. Heard a clip from an interview with him and he said he's "day to day" and "walking fine." Running's a different story though. I think they'd be dumb to play him when they likely won't need him.

I really don't know how that could be considering he's only getting scout team reps. Petty Pettine is just being an ego bitch boy.BR1986FB;1762439 wrote:Could it be the organization has already seen enough of JFF in the limited games/practice time to know he's not a starting NFL QB? I don't think Pettine saying screw you by not playing him (he did that by putting Manziel and Bowe in 2 weeks ago in garbage time), but the main difference is Farmer is planning for the future (that he doesn't have) while Pettine wants to win now. They just aren't looking for the same things. Farmer would probably play Gilbert at this point too, because why not, prove your draft wasn't a complete bust, but Pettine apparently doesn't see it that way.BR1986FB;1762439 wrote:Could it be the organization has already seen enough of JFF in the limited games/practice time to know he's not a starting NFL QB? Either way, I believe with 100% confidence they will both be gone prior to next season. -

No doubt and that's why I don't care if they win another game this year. Losing out does a few things like a) gets rid of the garbage (Pettine/Farmer) and b) finally puts them in a spot to get that QB. Fingers crossed that they hire the right talent evaluator to pick the right QB.iclfan2;1762454 wrote: Either way, I believe with 100% confidence they will both be gone prior to next season. -

friendfromlowryCan't someone in the organization overrule Pettine? You'd think someone would realize they can't afford to go into another offseason not knowing what Manziel is capable of.

TiernanBWAWAHAHAHA...Tiernan's Master Plan going very very well....

Ummm, no. I stopped buying Browns merchandise a while ago. Wouldn't be caught dead in something that ridiculous.Ironman92;1762476 wrote:Do you have one of these?
But do you have one of these? (not talking about the jacket, but the "look" of your people)

IggyPride00Pettine thinks he is just screwing with Farmer right now, but he is really hurting his rep around the league with future prospective employers who see the hard ass, spite routine and will take a pass when it comes to Mike.
Johnny is not the guy, but I realized last year when Pettine had the hard-on for Hoyer that no rookie QB (Carr, Bridgewater) could have been successful here because he was never going to play them consistently and deal with the growing pains.
Mangini would blush at Pettine's love of vets, and that is saying something.
The "bridge" QB does nothing but divide locker rooms and foment QB controversies. When you draft a QB in the 1st/2nd round it is a sign you're ready to turn the page and embrace the future with that guy. You need to go all in behind him, and just let him play.
The Hoyer's and McCown's of the world will naturally always look more prepared than a rookie, so it puts you in no man's land where the rookie is rotting on the bench while you chase fool's gold victories. Whether you start game 1 year 1, or game 1 year 3 you are still going to have the same growing pains because you can't replicate what it's like at game speed until you play.
Guys like Pettine blow that grace period in year 1 or 2 where fans are willing to deal with growing pains when they waste it on vets instead of guys who might have a future.
Even if I don't think Johnny is the guy I would have like to see him play for 10-12 weeks in a row where he knows he's starting each week and isn't getting the quick hook. He would either improve or be gone, but it would at least feel better seeing him fail than just taking Mike Pettine's word for it and cutting him after 4-5 scattered starts. It's just a fucked up approach to talent development, a concept that is non-existent in the Pettine/Farmer regime. -
TiernanAs Pres of the Cleveburgh Clowns Intl Haters Club...we too think Manzier deserves the shot to continue thru a "throw away" season. Besides how the hell is he ever going to suffer a life threatening injury if he ain't in there?
