Browns vs Steelers

Thought I'd start this thread before some POS steelers fan did. Who starts Johnny or Josh? Not like it matters because we are the browns. Big Ben will be out, so let's see what Jones has.

    Browns 20
    steelers 27

Won't matter who Pittsburgh has under center. If Jones can't get it going passing, the Yinzers can win ugly by hammering Williams down the Browns throat on the ground. I'd expect 130-150 yards from D'Angelo in this one.

Hopefully, they just keep Manziel in there the rest of the year to see what he's got but Pettine probably thinks that he still has a shot to salvage his job.

Not a POS but will gladly start another thread for the day of the game if you don't want me polluting the Browns thread with 80% of the posts being mine during the actual game.

Landry looks to be a solid but not upper tier backup. He likes to go to Bryant more than Brown and never uses Miller.

The LB and D-line crew haven't done much at all of late. Steelers are terrible at covering TE so Barnidge should be used a good bit.

IF they keep Manziel from beating them deep (Steelers have improved at this a bit this year) I think they will control the game ok and get a defensive score. I don't see Landry surpassing 16-18 points in leading the offense.

If Tomlin's watched previous game film, he'll know to just hand the ball off to Williams. Jones shouldn't need to throw more than 15x's in this game. Wish the Browns could stop the run but they've made the WORST rushing attacks look very good this year. Pittsburgh can run the ball. They should feast on the Browns defense.

Again, hoping that Manziel starts. Will be interesting to see what he can do with 10 days prep versus 3-4.

Browns will lose, and are at this rate competing for the worst record in the NFL.

I remember when the Steelers sucked and the Browns beat them almost every time.

When Pittsburgh lines up in a 50/50 formation (looks like they might run or pass) they are able to build up first downs. When they avoid the 1st down obvious run formation things go well. Hardly anyone can just line up and run it. Putting Brown into motion really opens up the running game and also not snapping the ball every time with 1 or 2 on the clock.

DeAngelo still playing well and has a chip on his shoulder because he keeps being asked if he's ready to fill in Bell's shoes.

I remember when the Browns were damn good at every freaking position and I hated for the Steelers to play them.

Before my time but those days must have been great. Once they brought that effer Noll in, it's been all down hill for Browns' fans, for the most part.

Denver's rushing attack was horrid. They gashed the Browns D. I think almost every team they've faced has gone for 150+ on the ground. I may be wrong on that but I'm pretty damn close.

Either you're talking about 2007 or you're older than I thought because I can't remember the Browns being "damn good at every freaking position" since the late 80's with Kosar.

I was talking mid to late 80's those damn teams were guys everywhere that could've been Pro Bowl....and Pittsburgh was average then with Tom Selleck and Bubby as QB

Denver's rushing attack isn't much but you can't load up to stop Broncos because Manning will gash you....Jones will have to prove he can throw....Peyton never has to prove that.

Rapist or no Rapist the Browns have no chance because the Steelers can win by just running the ball 40+ times.
  • friendfromlowry
Nevermind Williams and the running game. Just keep throwing to Brown. If McCown is starting, I'd predict the Browns to win (INB4 that pisses off Footwedge and he makes some nonsensical three-paragraph post bringing up Cleveland radio hosts and comparing Manziel's last game to Tom Brady's freshmen college season).

Browns fans....thoughts on Kosar saying he could "fix this in 1-2 years if they hired him?"

Those were the good old days. We used to gather at Fred and Wilma's house to catch these games!

If he can find a QB worth a damn and get a head coach in there, then sure.

I'm assuming Manziel will start again?

JFF should start, I fully expect the Browns to lose and I doubt I'll even watch the game. I'm upset Rapitfucker isn't playing, watching him get sacked was the only thing I was looking forward to seeing this week.

If McCown's healthy, I bet he does.

TBH, could he do much worse than GM's that have a) texted fans to "go root for Buffalo" in an expletive filled tirade, b) been found drunk/passed out under their office desk and c) sent texts to the sideline to suggest players & play calls?

I think bringing in Kosar would be kind of a "fanboy" type response from Haslam but Bernie does know QB play which is one thing this team sorely needs.
