Week 3: Raiders @ Browns

And were they benched the following week? Johnny's rating was 134 btw. The games you cite seem to be impressive games. Did either of those quarterbacks heave it 60 yards down the field twice dead nuts on the money for touchdowns? How many assclowns on this web site said Manziel has no accuracy? A weak arm? Can't throw deep?

OIC do we finally find a franchise quarterback only to see him rot away on the bench.

I wouldn't get too carried away.

Bravo, the first long TD to Benjamin was a textbook pocket passer throw and catch but the second one was as 'schoolyard" as schoolyard can get on a broken play.

I wouldn't call a barely above 50% completion percentage "accuracy" either.

Now granted, we pretty much all want to see more of him but no need to crown him after an "ok" performance.

Call it schoolyard all you want...not too many qb's make the spin move bootleg like he did. Maybe Wilson...that's about it. Fran Tarkenton would be proud. 134 rating is a 134 rating. It's not Manziel's fault that Pettine pulled the plug on his offense for the entire second half..until the game got tight due to his ignorance. Manziel bailed his ass out with an amazing play.

Conservative coaches don't win in this league anymore...they just don't. All one has to do is look at McCarthy, Belichek, and Carroll for proof of that. I had high hopes for Pettine, but when you decide to sit on the ball for almost 2 quarters, then you suck and don't deserve to be a head football coach.

Ryan Tannehill did it last week.

Part of my ongoing frustration with this team is I knew the guy was a freaking bum in over his head since the day he signed.

He was the defensive version of Pat Shurmur, a pedestrian coordinator that no other team was even interviewing for head coach. He wasn't on any other team's radar for good reason. Look at what the Bills defense turned into once he got the hell out of town.

The fact that he was willing to take this job knowing (at the time) he would be working for Joe Banner told me all I needed to know about Pettine. He was probably as shocked as the rest of us that any team was even calling, and he would have said yes to anything at that point.

It has bled over into his hiring of coordinators as well. Other than Shanahan, he has surrounded himself with other guys not qualified for their jobs that other teams had no interest in.

He accepts failure and quite frankly encourages it. Jim O'Neil wouldn't still have a job if Pettine believed in any semblance of real accountability.

He road his poppies name to his first jobs, and then Rex Ryan's play calls to his Buffalo job, and then was the only guy willing to work for Joe Banner.

I am an angry Browns fan. If I can tell the guy is a bum, how the hell can't the front office who is getting paid millions of dollars a year? Then again, I think they are bums as well so it is not a surprise that in this case failure seems to attract more failure.

Bring me a modern offensive mind with a real plan and I will be the happiest Browns fan in the world. No more of these guys unqualified for their jobs trying to play football like it's still the 1980's though. I can speak for Browns fans everywhere when I say we have all had it. It's all a giant waste of everyone's time.

Jimmy should just fire all of them now and stop delaying the inevitable. We all know how this is going to end, and the sooner we put a stop to it is the sooner we can get on the task of building a viable NFL contender. Making us suffer through another couple of 5-7 win seasons because you're embarrassed you screwed it up again on the hire is just rubbing salt in the wounds of all of us.

And replace them with who iggy?

Maybe it won't have an immediate impact but the Raiders are starting to build something nice out in Oakland. Have a few nice young pieces with Carr, Cooper, Crabtree & Mack.

Saw that Raiders have lost 15 straight in eastern time zone.

Manziel has what, 7 games played, 4 starts(?) and 8 turnovers. He should start, but citing interception rate really doesn't support McCown that much.

Listened to well renowned Johnny basher, Greg Brinda this morning. What a scum bag he is. And his little toadie callers were a hoot and a half. Some of the comments today...

    1. "Anybody could have completed those 3 bombs to Benjamin". Really? Short memory I guess. I watched Hoyer miss people last year who were far more open....by 10 yards.
    2. "the TD pass in the Jets game was poorly thrown". It was perfectly thrown. Benjamin had beaten Cromartie by 10 yards and Manziel recognized that. A good quarterback will err on the short side to make sure you don't overthrow a wide open receiver.
    3. Manziel is not prototypical and as such is not an NFL potential starter. Try selling that idea to Pete Carroll. And Fran Tarkenton is in the HOF.
    4. "Kudos to Pettine for starting the quarterback that gives the team the best chance to win" A good coach and staff would design the offense for Manziel and that would give the team the best chance to win...and it's not even close. Pettine is digging his own grave.
    5. True Browns fans wont boo tomorrow. No, true Browns fans should boo the shit out of McCown if he plays like crap.

Like I said above, you can't win in the NFL today with the Woody Hays, ultra conservative mind set. The sooner Pettine gets shit canned, the quicker Manziel takes over the offense.

Looks like the 4 quarter club is back out in force. Ignoring the fact that all sorts of QBs who never made it in the league were able to pull off 4-quarter streaks of good play.

Tarkenton played 40 years ago in a completely different NFL.

Raiders haven't sacked the qb yet. I bet McCown gets sacked three times and two interceptions. We lose 27-17

It just doesn't get any dumber than this folks. Take a bow Lunatic. The point is that the 4 quarters needs to turn into 40 quarters. OIC...a town that is starving for a franchise quarterback wants to start a 36 year old who had one good 5 game stretch in his entire career.

If that happens the dog pound needs to boo the shit out of Pettine for his utter ignorance. Then Jimmy needs to can his ass.

And what's your point? Is Wilson playing 40 years ago too? Pete Carroll designed an offense to fit his style and should have won 2 straight Super Bowls.

3 starts. And last year should not enter into the equation.

Boo the shit out of Pettine if McCown maybe goes 3 and out on his first two possessions but I wouldn't be booing McCown. Not his fault Pettine made the "safe" choice.

    Manziel is no Wilson.

Maybe already posted but I found this interesting-

McCown, who started nine games for the Raiders in 2007, has never faced them.

What streaming sites do u guys use?

There's already a thread, Said, you dumbass.

And besides, no one would post on your thread anyway.

GoChiefs...last week I used front row sports and it was fine. Didn't lag once. Just kinda tough to get around all the popups but as soon as you get a good one you're fine

Might be the biggest game of Mike's head coaching career so far.

If they lose this game with his boy to fall to 1-2 heading into the meat of the schedule it could make for some extreme discomfort for him moving forward.

The negativity in this town towards him and the regime in general will be at a level even I'm not sure I can reach.
