Week 3: Raiders @ Browns

  • like_that
Iqqy can go fuck himself as well. The Browns won, thus I make the next thread. Also he can simply fuck off.

Anyway, I am hoping we see the Browns D pressure Carr just like they did to mariotta. Only chance of winning games is to play good D and run the ball. Running the ball at least opens up some big play chances for Benjamin.

    Iqqy def can GFH.

I don't know what to think of the Raiders or the Browns yet. This game should help some but still won't be too savvy on how good the winner really is still.

Manziel has to start. Plain and simple.
  • MontyBrunswick
Johnny Manziel will come back down to earth this week and probably lose. McCown is more consistent imo

Prob, but we dont need a consistently shitty 36 year old QB playing. We need our 22 year old first round pick QB to get more snaps. I don't really know where JFF is coming down from earth though. He didn't do much last game.

Manziel should start. I really don't know where iggy is getting that shit about Mort saying Browns are gonna start McCown.

I'm picking the Clowns to win ...hopefully just like when I picked them to beat the Jets

Is there such a thing as sports fandom schizophrenia? If so, IQQY clearly has it mixed in with sports fandom bipolarism (which is mainly just depression on his part).

This. McCown signing was then, and still is fucking stupid. He sucks, has sucked, will suck, will always suck. 3 yr deal, SMH.

As a non-fan, it would make no sense to go back to McCown. Literally, what is there to gain?

Say Manziel flops, the Browns go 3-13, you now have plenty of evidence and support to pick another QB.

Say Manziel plays well, you likely still get a top 10 pick, but have an option at QB.

However, it wouldn't surprise me to see the Browns be stupid and keep trying McCown.

From his stat line, he basically had the two nice TDs to Benjamin and couldn't have had much else, right? Like a situation where the TDs are a nice stepping stone and something good to build off of, but the total package still needs a lot of work? Work that he wouldn't be getting if McCown was playing.

Raiders 0-8 on the road last year and 2-22 the past 3 years. Should be a W and I expect to get it

I would say this is pretty accurate. Pretty much a standard win for a young QB playing in his 2nd career NFL start.

I agree. But the encouraging thing was he seems to be getting better each week. And of course the most important stat was 0 turnovers. We can deal with the growing pains as long as he continues to protect the football.

I thought I heard he did fumble twice, but the team recovered both times. I'd say that'd be the #1 concern with him (other than the obvious "keep learning and keep improving with the offense" stuff). That's less him protecting the football and more someone else being in the right spot. As a QB taking hits, your job is to not lose the ball. Whether your team picks you up or not, losing the ball is on you most of the time (if a blocker whiffs completely and you get waffled before you're remotely ready to do anything, that's more on the line than you).

Manzier's tiny elf-like hands make it difficult for him to hold onto the ball...look for more fumbles.

I heard he can't even throw a spiral.

JFF actually has huge hands. This biggest among QBs that yr int he draft.
  • Automatik
Yeah, I remember it being a talking point predraft.

Like I said earlier, the Browns want to run the ball. They only threw 15 times. If you see this team throwing the ball over 22/23 times, you could bet they are losing.
  • Crimson streak
A stat I saw today actually really surprised me. Manziels passer rating under pressure is 119.

We didn't run that many plays because we weren't getting first downs. We ran 45 plays compared to their 67. We need more 1st downs to have more running plays.
  • HitsRus
Agree with you^^^. 30 running plays to 15 passes. Run, run, pass on third and long.

I think the 2nd half offense was stagnant by design tbh. I don't think pettine wanted to take any chance to give the Titans a chance to get back in the game with any turnovers. The defense was playing great and Andy Lee is a pretty damn good punter. It was a very conservative game in the 2nd half.

Edit: Very conservative other than the TD pass to Benjamin.
