lol at you knuckleheads (esp S&L and Durkie, 2 brothers....hmmm) getting your panties in a bunch.
Is coa up for idiot post of the week?? -
sportswizuhrdGinobili is returning to the Spurs and David West is signing for the vet minimum. Another nice day for the Spurs.
Who do the Cavs turn to for the back-up PF spot? If it's Andy V, that more than likely means no Joe Johnson trade. -
sleeperSpurs are going to be a tough out in the playoffs. Thankfully I still think the Cavs have better talent at the top at least; Spurs have more talent overall, but we have superior talent in our starting lineup.
That's also assuming Duncan and Ginobli still have something left in the tank/can stay healthy and that's not even a guarantee. -

Health will be a big factor. They looked human this past season.sleeper;1739123 wrote:Spurs are going to be a tough out in the playoffs. Thankfully I still think the Cavs have better talent at the top at least; Spurs have more talent overall, but we have superior talent in our starting lineup.

BTW, can't believe West is signing for vet min, that's a huge get. and surprised he left $12 mil on the table like that.
Probasketballdraft ‏@Probballdraft 4m4 minutes ago Cavs and Clippers have discussed Jamal Crawford according to a source. Clippers asking for Varejao to replace DeAndre Jordan. -
like_thatI will say this. The one thing pissing me off about Lebron right now is if it is true he is not communicating with the FO, then he is only hurting the team. The cavs had a good chance to sign West. Now they have lost those sweepstakes.

Commander of AwesomeLbj only recruits for the heat. Everyone knows that.

like_thatSpurs and GSW will be just as tough imo. I still think the Cavs can beat both in a series if both teams are healthy. At least now GSW can't cakewalk all the way to the finals. GSW lucked out on their way to the finals. They faced the pelicans (instead of OKC getting in there), a hampered mike conley grizzles team, and a houston team that really had no business being in the WCF.
-
Commander of Awesome^ that's true. Houston sucks. Tho clippers suck worse, Hawks like pretenders and they beat the Spurs.

SportsAndLadyVarejao for J-Craw would be money
-
Commander of AwesomeAgreed. Still have Haywood to do a deal as well.

A 35 year old crawford? Fuck that. I thought griffin was trying to bring in more guys at the 26-30 year age. The only good thing about a crawford/varejao trade would be we get rid of andy's contract and crawfords contract expires at the end of the season.SportsAndLady;1739147 wrote:Varejao for J-Craw would be money -

Nope S&L already said it would be great. Sure Derpie is keying a brilliant response as we speak.like_that;1739157 wrote:A 35 year old crawford? Fuck that. In terms of Crawford, he seems to be like JR smith but more Alpha Male-ism. One of the biggest issues in the finals was anyone not named LBJ to even take a fucking shot. Crawford would at least chuck it. -
sportswizuhrdEverything I'm reading is that it would be a Crawford for Haywood deal. Crawford only makes 5.5M so the Clips would need to add someone to make the deal work.
-
DeyDurkie5I heard Crawford was going to China to play for 500$ million. COA can you confirm this?

That is exactly why its a good deal. However, I think we need a little more than Crawford for that because the Cavs won't have cap space for the next 5 years so we need to bring someone else in for depth.like_that;1739157 wrote:A 35 year old crawford? Yeah, I am not downplaying GSW as they are still a good team, but it would be nice to see them have some sort of a challenge before playing in the finals. The Cavs at least went thru a war of attrition with the bulls, before making it to the finals.sleeper;1739165 wrote:And then played a depleted Cavs team. -

I believe being done with Andy's contract along with crawfords expiring contract would give the Cavs some cap room, especially with the cap rising.sleeper;1739167 wrote:That is exactly why its a good deal. Laley23Crawford can still score. Varejao and Haywood can't. Haywood cause he is older than dirt and Andy cause he is made of glass.
To get anything as good as Crawford for either would be a steal at this point. -
Commander of Awesome
An interesting point about future cap space, I have no idea where we will be. I'd imagine it depends somewhat on LBJ and his contract plans.sleeper;1739167 wrote:That is exactly why its a good deal. They will have a little. $98M in 4 players though doesn't leave a lot of room even with the cap expected to be around $115M in 3 years.like_that;1739169 wrote:I believe being done with Andy's contract along with crawfords expiring contract would give the Cavs some cap room, especially with the cap rising.
TT = $16
KL = $22
KI = $18
LBJ = $22 maybe?
Shump = $10 -

Assuming Lebron keeps opting out (no reason for him not to do so financially), his cap number will be way higher than $22m in a few years. The most recent projections I saw were $108m for the 2017-2018 cap ($89m for 2016-2017). We're going to be maxed out for the forseeable future if the current roster is kept in tact.sleeper;1739185 wrote:They will have a little. $98M in 4 players though doesn't leave a lot of room even with the cap expected to be around $115M in 3 years.
