I was hoping they were just playing it close to the vest and were going to go after someone. Pettine made the comments that the money "has to be right" and they aren't "just going to spend, to spend" which makes perfect sense. I do expect them to nab a few of the "bargains" when things start to slow down and the big names get weeded out within the next week.

Yeah I also believe that farmer was active. I just don't think he landed the right deal and I don't blame him for refusing to pull the trigger because I'm sure it's fucking tempting.

Hey, it could be worse, at least the Browns aren't Tampa Bay. What a clusterf#ck. Sign three players (McCown, Collins & Johnson) to fairly big deals and cut them a year later. Dumbasses.

Just further proof that FA is mainly fools gold.

I agree, I'm sure they were on the phones quite a bit reaching out to players. However, some people don't want to come to Cleveland, and I'm sure a large majority of them think they're worth much more than they actually are. There were only a couple guys out there that I really would've liked to spend some money on, but after looking at the contracts they got, I'm kind of glad we passed, even if we're "stuck with a big pile of cash" so to speak.

Asking this out of curiosity and not speculation:

Would you want, at whatever salary + what we'd have to give up in a trade, Adrian Peterson?

Don't want. Great back but he's going to regress soon.

Honestly, the guy I would want the most would be LeVeon Bell. He's a complete back, and tough as nails. Would be great if he'd get out of the division lol

Above average pass catcher. What would the Browns lose in draft picks to sign a transition player?
  • SportsAndLady
No thanks on Clay or AP

No. A team that can realistically win it all in the next few years (Colts/Ravens/Chargers/etc), Id overpay for him (with picks/salary/whatever). But, not the Browns.

    Precisely.

Good god, the Browns have just re-signed QB Thad Lewis.

Hopefully only to throw to the mass influx of receiver they will be bringing in for free agency and the draft.

They will go into camp and such with 4 QB's. He is just an warm body, nothing more, nothing less

Nothing but the Fins can match any offer.

Haha I've always liked him even when he played for Duke. But yeah I don't get how he is still on a roster in the NFL.

    At their price, yes.

Clay is a legit TE. Do want.

Maybe he has that London Fletcher gene and he won't. He did break the rushing title coming back early from ligament tear in his knee.

Evidently, Evan Mathis is available for trade from the Eagles... At only a $5.5M base salary for next season, would love for the Browns to make a pitch for him.
