2015 Browns Offseason Thread

He had a 7 game stretch with 37 catches, 650 yards and 4 TDs. That's 18ppg and I got him off waivers I'm sure. I would take a player like that every season (for fantasy) if I could find one Week 8. I think I got third that year (2012). I haven't followed him since because he hasn't been on my team since.Commander of Awesome;1711413 wrote:Carried you to where? Bottom of the league? -
BR1986FBSolid signing. Big guy who can fill that Joe J role that has been missing for awhile. Still need to grab a #1.
Sounds like Trent Cole's meeting went really well too. -
SportsAndLadyI also like the hartline signing. But they need to grab a #1 WR. They really can't miss on this one.

Dr. KnOiTaLLWould love to get Kevin White. His speed/size combination is scary. Cooper wouldn't be a bad consolation prize, though.
-
BR1986FBBrowns supposedly interested in Revis (per Ian Rapoport) and in talks with the 49ers (along with the Bears) about Kaepernick. Doubt they will land either of them as Revis has a bunch of competition for his services.

That would be insane having him and Lockdown Joe.BR1986FB;1711457 wrote:Browns supposedly interested in Revis (per Ian Rapoport) and in talks with the 49ers (along with the Bears) about Kaepernick. Doubt they will land either of them as Revis has a bunch of competition for his services. -
Commander of AwesomeGetting revis doesn't matter if we can't stop the run.
-
SportsAndLadyWould love kaepernick but good lord that sounds like a pipe dream and those things just don't happen to the Browns.

Was hoping they'd take a look at Terrance Knighton but it sounds like he's as good as gone.Commander of Awesome;1711462 wrote:Getting revis doesn't matter if we can't stop the run. -

Agreed. Would be a helluva upgrade though. Would definitely give me a much more positive attitude about the upcoming season.SportsAndLady;1711464 wrote:Would love kaepernick but good lord that sounds like a pipe dream and those things just don't happen to the Browns. -
Laley23Doesnt Revis have a relationship with Pettine? That and $$$ might talk.
-
BR1986FB
I had heard that the most likely landing spots for him were either back to NE or the NYJ's.Laley23;1711471 wrote:Doesnt Revis have a relationship with Pettine? That and $$$ might talk.
Browns made a strong push for him last year so who knows. If they could get any sort of pass rush with Revis & Haden back there? Nasty....but COA's right about stopping the run. -
Commander of AwesomeI dont want to watch Revis make 100 tckls.
I'd make a strong push at Odrick and Dan Williams. Have to stop the run or nothing else matters.
What's the deal with Kap? 49ers asking price, etc.... -
Laley23If you have Revis and Haden though, you can stack the box with a lot more confidence.
Not saying that stopping the run isnt more important than 2 shutdown corners, but with so much money to spend, why not sign him? He wont HURT the defense. -

Cooper is the only one worth a top pick in my opinion. I'd love to have him.HighRoller74;1711395 wrote:Kevin White, Amari Cooper, Devante Parker come on down!
But it's Cleveland so I'm sure we'll take a DT. -

That's what the eagles said when they had cromartie and namdi. Rather develop Desir/Gilbert who we already spent a premium draft pick on.Laley23;1711474 wrote:If you have Revis and Haden though, you can stack the box with a lot more confidence.

Agree on this. Cooper would be my top target but he'll be long gone by the time #12 rolls around.sleeper;1711475 wrote:Cooper is the only one worth a top pick in my opinion. I'd love to have him. -

If it's true that they are in fact talking to Revis, that says a lot to me about their confidence in the two you mentioned.Commander of Awesome;1711476 wrote:That's what the eagles said when they had cromartie and namdi. Rather develop Desir/Gilbert who we already spent a premium draft pick on. -

Well then Farmer should be given the walking papers now. Gilbert had an up and down season, TONS of potential, and working hard this off season. Desir looked pretty damn good in the limited looks he got, more PT towards the end of the year. Hell Skrine turned from Ralph Toast Brown to a solid #2 CB over his 4 yrs, not sure why Desir/Gilbert can't do that as well.BR1986FB;1711479 wrote:If it's true that they are in fact talking to Revis, that says a lot to me about their confidence in the two you mentioned. -

If we could get Revis for a year or two while Desir/Gilbert progress, I'm good with that. I really think Desir will be a good one, but like Skrine, it may take a few years.Commander of Awesome;1711482 wrote:Well then Farmer should be given the walking papers now. Don't shoot the messenger. Just saying if they are looking at a Revis, there has to be some kind of concern with their current personnel at the position. At least, one would think?Commander of Awesome;1711482 wrote:Well then Farmer should be given the walking papers now. Or Revis is just better than the current personnel and we have some money to spend. Desir and Gilbert could both be better this year, but are they Revis? No.BR1986FB;1711488 wrote:Don't shoot the messenger. Just saying if they are looking at a Revis, there has to be some kind of concern with their current personnel at the position. thavoiceNo reason they cannot look at any FA. Shefter talked today how teams pretty much encourage all these leaks to give fans an impression they are doing something, spending the $$, to up salaries from another team, lure more FA with them thinking you are getting someone else.
Browns have tons of $$ to spend, and will need to overpay someone. Dont think REvis would end up there but they can at least take a look. -
BR1986FBIt's from MKC so it's probably wrong....

. @ MaryKayCabot tells us
possibility of Revis has "real legs", only because of Mike Pettine, but team
will still need to pay more.
