Very true. However, Rose and Butler are Rose are of a slightly lower caliber than LeBron and Kyrie, IMO.Iliketurtles;1704696 wrote:Once again robj wrong again. Pau Gasol - 18 points, 12 boards, 3 assits, 2 blocks per game all better numbers than Love and he is definitely the Bulls third option behind Butler and Rose. -

Said every player ever. The reality is, he's only interested in Cleveland because they might be stupid enough to give him a max deal. I think the Cavs can find a better value with the money rather than tying it all up in Love.

Not really. Most players who are contemplating a move avoid the question with some sort of "we'll worry about that when it gets here" or "right now I'm thinking about this season." He flat out said "No." I think he's here to stay, and the recent surge by the Cavs has probably solidified that position.sleeper;1704710 wrote:Said every player ever. Pau is as much of their second option as Jimmy Butler is. They are basically 2a and 2b. Love is a distant third option.Iliketurtles;1704696 wrote:Once again robj wrong again. But LOL at FW not knowing Love's numbers. -

This. I know we loving arguing over little shit on here but Pau actually averages more shots/game than Butler.robj55;1704771 wrote:Pau is as much of their second option as Jimmy Butler is. They are basically 2a and 2b. Love is a distant third option. -

Pau gasol is the 2nd option on that team, he is 2nd in shots per game only to d rose. Honestly it should go Gasol, butler, then rose.Iliketurtles;1704696 wrote:Once again robj wrong again. He's not talking 1 specific player, he's talking 2/3 guys who can replicate what love does, plus giving more depth.robj55;1704772 wrote:Like who? There isn't one. -

That's not how you win in the NBA though. It's been proven over time.HighRoller74;1704785 wrote:He's not talking 1 specific player, he's talking 2/3 guys who can replicate what love does, plus giving more depth. -

2 stars, and a shit load of depth, most certainly will win you a title.robj55;1704789 wrote:That's not how you win in the NBA though. It's been proven over time.
The Heat and the Celtics, are the only teams who have won it recently with a "Big 3".
Most others have been 2 stars or Less and depth.
Spurs- Duncan only True "star", 2 other high level players and ton of depth
Lakers(3 Peat)- Kobe/Shaq.....bunch of roleplayers
Bulls MJ/Pippen, Role players
Rockets- Drexler/Olajuwon, Role Players
Heat (First Title), Shaq/Wade, Role players
Pistons No Real Stars
Mavericks Dirk, shit load of depth
Lakers (2nd 2) Kobe/Pau, loads of depth. -
Laley23Either way, Pau or Butler have better numbers as the 3rd option. But I get the point, Love is just fine.

robj55Cleveland has Kevin Love as a THIRD option, a guy who averaged 26 and 14 as a number one option in a loaded Western Conference and consistently torched and outplayed the best PF's in the game, and some fans want to get rid of him for 2 solid role players when the team already is loaded with role players, only in Cleveland. How about being grateful that you have a loaded team and legit chance at winning a title for once?

I agree with this, was just stating where Sleeper was coming from. -

Yeah I'm not pointing out anyone individually. Just can't believe some people are so eager to write someone off so quickly, especially someone that good.HighRoller74;1704817 wrote:^^^

They do, but they also didn't have as drastic of a change in role as Kevin Love has had. People don't seem to ever grasp that, it's difficult to go from being the man to being a distant third option, he's only 50 games into this experiment and he and the entire team are figuring it out as they go. Max Kellerman said it well the other day, the Cavs are basically unbeatable right now and they don't even know what they're doing yet.Laley23;1704810 wrote:Either way, Pau or Butler have better numbers as the 3rd option. No point in really arguing this. Smart money will have Love coming back at a max contract value.Dr. KnOiTaLL;1704717 wrote:Not really. Not in one player. I don't think Love is worth a max deal; I think we can build some pieces for his max value contract that will compliment Lebron/Irving for championships rather than tying all the money up in a player who won't get optimal production relative to his worth. This isn't a debate; I'm not interested in explaining to you how logic works.robj55;1704772 wrote:Like who? There isn't one. -

Kevin Love has never won anything in the NBA.robj55;1704815 wrote:Cleveland has Kevin Love as a THIRD option, a guy who averaged 26 and 14 as a number one option in a loaded Western Conference and consistently torched and outplayed the best PF's in the game, and some fans want to get rid of him for 2 solid role players when the team already is loaded with role players, only in Cleveland. I agree, and while I was against the trade, I don't think it was a bad one. Love is and will be fine. Same with the Cavs. His spacing is very underrated, even while his scoring and shooting have suffered.robj55;1704823 wrote:They do, but they also didn't have as drastic of a change in role as Kevin Love has had. neither has kyrie. lets get rid of him. Not many players have "won anything" in the NBA by themselves.sleeper;1704828 wrote:Kevin Love has never won anything in the NBA. -
SportsAndLadyWe will wait and see how Love does in the playoffs, where it actually matters.
It's a different ballgame come playoff time, and this will be Love's first playoff appearance so I'm not confident he will be able to sustain 17 and 10 but we shall see. -

Kyrie hasn't been in the league for 6 years.Pick6;1704835 wrote:neither has kyrie. lets get rid of him. Not many players have "won anything" in the NBA by themselves. -
sleeperAlso Kyrie is 10x the player Love is. They aren't on the same level.
