2014-2015 Cleveland Cavaliers Season Thread

Marion, Perkins, Jones and Haywood should be gone next year, either by retiring or getting cut/traded. Miller will probably pick up his player option, which isn't ideal, but its a cheap contract at least. I hope he retires as he's washed up.

I wouldn't mind finding a new place for JR Smith; I think his tank is close to empty. Maybe find a piece by trading him + Haywood for a spark off the bench.

I would let Shumpert go if he wants a big payday otherwise I bring him back at a reasonable price. He's not an offensive power but he doesn't need to be with the full squad out there.

The Cavs do have a first rounder this year so that's an easy way to add a piece at a cheap price.

Just some thoughts. I think the team is fine but wouldn't mind shoring up our bench with some younger talent instead of having dead weight veterans on the team.

Lebron's the best player in the world and there's no one that doubts that anymore but when Lebron said that I knew he was going to take flak for it.
  • Automatik
I'd have zero issue with what Thompson said.

After the way LBJ played in the playoffs, and being 3rd in MVP voting, I'm fully expecting next year to be one of the greatest NBA seasons (out of LBJ) that we've ever seen from any one single player.

Lebron is the only player in NBA's final history to lead BOTH teams in Points, Rebounds and Assists.

    Lebron had an incredible series.

I think Cleveland should let Thompson walk. I read somewhere Gilbert would have to pay over $200 million in salary and luxury taxes if he brings everyone back, they also would have a very limited MLE and not be able to Sign and Trade at all. The core is plenty good enough to win a title, you don't need to financially hamstring yourself to do so

LeBron wants Thompson, I highly doubt he leaves. Also the lux tax is a drop in the bucket for Gilbert.

I'd dump JR and all the has-beens on the bench.

Thompson is worth the money. He is only 24 and seems to get better every year. He's an absolute force on the boards and that alone is hard to find.

I want him back. Now, Varejao? He's way overpaid and injury prone. Nothing personal against him, but I wish the Cavs would trade or cut him.

Andys really our only bad contract and strictly bc of his injuries.

I suppose you're assuming Haywood is simply an asset to move, correct?

Yup. Whether traded or released, he won't be on the roster next year.

That's all you needed to say to him.

LeBron wants TT, Varejao, Mozgov and Love. He's got Kyrie. It's not feasible.

IMO, the Cavs should pay Thompson, Love walks. Pay Mozgov after next year and try to get rid of Andy.

    Except it is.

But do you need Mozgov, Varejao and Thompson all making 10-15M a year? Seems redundant. Not to mention Love, if he stays.
  • Automatik
How much better is Andy's offensive game compared to Mosgov? Serious question.

Does Mosgov not now how to fucking tip the ball back in? He was very frustrating to watch last night.

Its not my wallet, and if you can keep all players (you can), you do it.

Letting Love "walk" is completely fucking stupid. There is no benefit to that at all. They are over the cap either way.

You let Mozgov and Varejao go and keep Thompson and Love.
  • Automatik
And do what regarding a big? I think you have to keep one of them.

Or keep them all, which is logical thing to do.

    We're keeping all of them.
