But no, rob is right and he can't defend in the open space. Smh
I'm not saying he can't do it, I'm saying he gets lost out there and gets forced to switch when he shouldn't. No way in the world the Cavs wanted to swtich that much, if anyone can find a report saying that they did then I will gladly shut up and eat crow.

It was well discussed during the finals that the Cavs did not want to risk leaving Curry wide open on a failed switch, or if Delly got screened off. Which is why you saw TT immediately show on Curry and make sure a defender was in his face the entire time.
No that is a hard hedge, it is then up to the big defender to get back to his man instantly therefore no switch occurs. Watch the Spurs, they do this as well as anyone. You don't see Duncan getting switched out very often like that do you? It's extremely difficult obviously against a team like GS with how they can spread the floor and play small ball.

Good post, I'll eat crow on that one.

In defense of Duncan, Nash is probably the best pick and roll guard we have seen, he had that mastered. But I see your point.

Ask anyone who is really good friends with a lawyer. There's no on/off switch, even if I wanted there to be. I'm also nowhere near as big of an ass in real life as I am on here, but that doesn't really matter.

I'm friends with two of them, I know how it goes lol. I like your fire, just goes too far sometime.

It'll put them over the Luxury tax, and they traded Harden because of not wanting to pay tax.
I was going to post this. What does everyone think about this? All hatred of Harden aside, wouldn't you rather break the bank for him than Enes Kanter?

They are a small market, how much revenue do they generate? I'm sure they regret not paying Harden.

Well Wesley Matthews is a happy guy today. With DeAndre going back to LA, Matthews' deal went from 4/57 to 4/70. For a player coming off an achilles tear. Wow.

It says a lot about Harden when he is being compared to Enes Kanter.

I think the window to win in the NBA is narrow for most teams. If you're close you do whatever it takes, I think Presti's shine is coming off after getting fleeced in trades and striking out in FA recently. I would also fucking hate the OKC owners if I were an OKC fan for being cheap as shit.

    There are some parallels too:

Coming close--OKC in '12 Finals, Cleveland up 3-1 on BoSox to play an outmanned Rockies team in WS
Trading what helped get you close to avoid spending money--Harden and OKC; back-to-back Cy Young winners in Cleveland

Damn just got bitter about '07 ALCS all over again.

Minor fact correction: Cliff Lee did NOT help us get close in 2007. In fact, I'm still bitter at him for literally only sucking that year of his career (until injuries/age got him).

Kanter could be a 20 and 10 guy, he's not going to do much on defense and it's not like OKC is really going to run anything through him offensively if RW and KD are healthy. Then again, they have Ibaka so I can see why they would want to keep him.

For Portland, I don't get the move, unless it's just to make OKC overpay for him. It's still a gamble. He will basically have to be LaMarcus Aldridge all over again and make a name for himself. Name recognition wise, Kanter has been buried until the end of the year last year when he got some pub with OKC, so selling fans on "we lost Aldridge, but paid Kanter a max deal" isn't going to fly until he starts putting up the numbers.

With that said, he's overpaid in this situation, but the price for big men is staggering. They are ridiculous, actually.

Greg Monroe is a 14/9 guy for his career and just got a max deal. Kanter is 2 years younger and has gotten far less chances to show what he can do.

And none of these deals are helping the Cavs with TT.

Right, he wasn't even on the postseason roster. But for the sake of argument let's merge Fausto Carmona's career year with Cliff Lee's performance that followed ;)
