slingshot4everGiving away Wiggins and other stuff for Love is almost the polar opposite of getting James....almost makes the off-season feel like a wash

That may be the actual deal, doesn't make it a good one for either party. Cavs give up Wiggins, they'll have gotten fucked. No other way around it. Love wants to go to Cavs and says as much. Cavs give up best prospect and bargaining chip for a guy who only says he'll go to the Cavs. Pretty fucking dumb from the Cavs perspective. I'd fail the GM for business acumen if he were in my class, I can tell you that much.ts1227;1640971 wrote:Agree, but it sounds like the T'Wolves owner has conceded it tonight

I don't think anyone can be that thrilled with it. The only way this has any chance to go over well is if the Cavs bring home the hardware in 2015, and that still doesn't make anyone feel warm and fuzzy about it long term.Commander of Awesome;1640977 wrote:That may be the actual deal, doesn't make it a good one for either party. So why would either team make the deal? I get that you read the BS the papers are pushing, but why in the fuck would either team pull the trigger?ts1227;1640980 wrote:I don't think anyone can be that thrilled with it. Obviously MIN is looking to get they most they can for him before he eventually just walks. The Cavs? Honestly I don't know. Either they are focused on the short term and loading up for this year, or they are convinced they can keep him and that he will contribute at a high level for a while to justify unloading Wiggins (which we tend to disagree with here obviouslty). Or, Lebron is forcing it.Commander of Awesome;1640981 wrote:So why would either team make the deal? I read the BS, and bring it here to generate discussion (which this place sorely needs), doesn't mean I take it as gospel. It's impossible to trust anything out there anymore. -
Commander of AwesomeSorely needed? Cavs thread been doing just fine without it IMO. Guess if you think so highly on your involvement I could see where an ego would think so...

Pick6I think he means the forum as a whole, which I tend to agree with.

Yes. I can't imagine this place is long for this world if it keeps up as is.Pick6;1640986 wrote:I think he means the forum as a whole, which I tend to agree with. -

LOL. I swear if people start believing this shit It's going to drive me insane.slingshot4ever;1640976 wrote:Giving away Wiggins and other stuff for Love is almost the polar opposite of getting James....almost makes the off-season feel like a wash -

Are you friction serious? If we walk away from this off-season by adding LeBron AND Love to last year's roster, you would feel like the off-season has been a wash? That's one of the more ridiculous statements I've heard in a while. We added the best player in the world. Losing the rookie would suck, yes, but that doesn't trump the fact that we added the best player on the planet plus the addition of Love if something does go down.slingshot4ever;1640976 wrote:Giving away Wiggins and other stuff for Love is almost the polar opposite of getting James....almost makes the off-season feel like a wash
I realize many of us don't necessarily agree with it, but LeBron is 30 this year. Maybe because of LeBron's age, the Cavs feel a bit rushed to make a push for championships over the next 4-5 years (which if Love signed an extension, he would likely remain with us the whole time). Regardless, either way we're going to have a top tier team. Yes, losing the financial flexibility and on court product of losing Wiggins blows, but I have a feeling none of us will be complaining if we finally win a championship with Kevin Love on the roster. -

I hope you're really drunj because that's just idiotic.slingshot4ever;1640976 wrote:Giving away Wiggins and other stuff for Love is almost the polar opposite of getting James....almost makes the off-season feel like a wash -
lhslep134I've been a lot more re-assured about my feelings on the trade talking to a ton of Suns fans since I moved to Phoenix. With maybe one exception, they think it's borderline insane to not want to trade Wiggins for Love (under the assumption Love would be signing a new deal with us).
They at least still acknowledged the pro-Wiggins argument that there's no guarantee Love re-ups here and that one or two years of Love isn't worth giving up Wiggins. -

I think he meant love for wiggins, AB, and who ever else we gave up.lhslep134;1641006 wrote:I hope you're really drunj because that's just idiotic. -

Very true, I'm shocked we've managed to stay afloat without your great posts all the time /sarcasmts1227;1640987 wrote:Yes. I can't imagine this place is long for this world if it keeps up as is.
If you don't like it, that says opposite for me. You're a butthurt bitch boy who infracts ppl that disagree with you. When you don't like posting means this place is a better forum. Now you have to back up what you say instead if infracting ppl. Bitter mod is bitter. -
Ironman92I think once the season starts...Cleveland fans will be popping with joy whether Love or Wiggins is playing. Instant contender regardless. People like to play GM and look to the future.... Once it gets going hopefully it'll be good enough to enjoy and not worry about 2018.

Going into the offseason we had what was supposed to be the 9th pick and nothing else. Since then we've gotten the best player on the planet, incredulously won the lottery, and are now in discussions to move that #1 pick for a player who is currently a top 5 player and it's no guarantee that we are for sure giving up that #1 pick for said top 5 player.Commander of Awesome;1641018 wrote:I think he meant love for wiggins, AB, and who ever else we gave up.
I don't care how you feel about Wiggins/Love, it is crazy to me to consider anything a "wash." -
Commander of Awesome
Agreed. Not a wash. Just pointing out what I thought he meant. Also love is far from a top 5 player.lhslep134;1641028 wrote:Going into the offseason we had what was supposed to be the 9th pick and nothing else. I think the whole Wiggins thing is more than just "the future vs the now". It's also a conversation about the utility of an elite floor spacing big weighed against a potentially elite defensive wing with a truly unknown ceiling. I say that because, like you said, I think Wiggins could be just as vital to a championship run this year as Love but in a different way.Ironman92;1641026 wrote:I think once the season starts...Cleveland fans will be popping with joy whether Love or Wiggins is playing. I can't name 5 players all around better than him. I've tried. Emphasis on the all-around, because I showed on this thread pages ago Love isn't the "minus defender" he's perceived to be.Commander of Awesome;1641029 wrote: Also love is far from a top 5 player.
And even if he's not top 5, which is fine I'm not going to argue, he's unequivocally NOT "far from top 5" status. That is an opinion I will argue with you about lol.
To me, far from top 5 is the 15-20 range. The NBA is so closely grouped with stars from 5-15 you can make an argument most of them could be top 5 IMO. -
SportsAndLadyLove isn't top 5 in my book
-
robj55He's a top 10 player in the league, the most productive PF in the game and arguably the best. Him and Lebron would be an unstoppable combination in the half court game.
