Can someone explain why Dellavedova played almost the whole game?

Because the backcourt alternatives are Dion Waiters and Joe Harris.

Also, he moves the ball, takes care of the ball (7/0 assists/turnovers to start the year), and does a lot of the little things that a team needs to do to win. He's an easy guy for a coach to trust, especially a new coach.

Be careful pick6 will rip your ass and start crying for calling a spade a spade.

Waiters was horrendous and may have lost that game if he was playing.

Kudos to Blatt for benching him. Guy isn't the #2 option anymore, probably the #5. Needs to realize that.
  • Midstate01
Really really think they should make waiters the first guy off the bench. He may not like it but he's going to hate his current role. He's basically the last option. Even behind Andy because Andy is so good at cutting and moving without the ball that they find him more.

Waiters needs to be sent packing. I can't stand him. Dellavadova was a mediocre shooter in college but did dish out a lot of assists. Maybe Ray Allen/Mike Miller combo would be the ticket.

Bing a 6th man is where he thrived at in college as well and where I think he fits best for this team.

Why are you fools still using the offseason thread?
  • Commander of Awesome
He came off the bench quite a bit last season. Not a ton of success there either.

You lose him mentally when he comes off the bench.

He is obsessed with "being a starter" because he wants to be seen as the star he thinks he is in his mind.

His skill set makes him a great 6th man potentially. Unfortunately he has this irrational opinion of his game that makes him think he is a superstar even though he clearly isn't.

He was always jealous of Kyrie since he got here because he in his heart thinks he is as good or better than him, and now seeing the hype of "the big 3" is probably killing him because he thinks people should be talking about a big 4 (that includes him).

Dion's too stubborn and headstrong to ever accept and be happy with the role the Cavs most need him to play. What we need from Dion, and what Dion wants to accomplish are not compatible and the sooner everyone realizes this the sooner we can all move on and find guys who are interested in playing the roles we need them to play.

I'll post the response of somebody who has seen him play more than twice in his life.

I know a problem when I see it, and unlike most people I am not content to wait for a car crash to play itself out if I know it can be prevented with pro-active measures.

No doubt. Just think it's funny, Love on a garbage team and he's a top 5 player, best PF in the game. Not on a garbage team, ppl think he's trash. Probably somewhere in between, which some of us were saying. Think the wolves would trade Wiggins for him now?
  • Lovejoy1984
See thats actually tough....because obviously they wouldn't, because he's like 6 years younger, but the advanced stats, have actually shown that Wiggins has been a below average player this season.

And even with a down season, Love is still a top 5 PF in the game.

Now clearly Wiggins has amazing potential, but if for the next 3 years, I think most every team in the NBA would make the Cavs did.

First option compared to distant third option.

Again, just like Love's numbers are deflated due to being the 3rd wheel, Wiggins numbers are inflated being the only option on a shitty team. IMO, Wiggins numbers don't even come close to what he's doing in Minny on this team.
