Mix even said in his post game interview his #10 is only temporary until the WC is over and Landon is back as captain for a bit.
Why would Landon want to play for the US after the WC?

Stop hosting world cups in soccer crazy nations... Ingenious!!!

Does it matter if they're soccer crazy? Ha it's not like people from all around the world are going to the games right? You think those poor Brazilians can actually afford to go as well?

I'd say the real problem is the governing body for soccer (much the same as the Olympics). A bunch of super-rich assholes who care more about being coddled and treated extravagantly than anything else, who insist that for the privilege of hosting their event, that a country needs to build brand new facilities and have luxury accommodations set up for them because they live in a bubble where poverty doesn't exist and everyone should bend over backwards to give them what they want, no matter how utterly frivolous and stupid it seems in the grand scheme of things.

I mean, seriously? Your post is just flat-out stupid. These rich pricks demand more than most countries can legitimately produce, so let's take on the burden of running our country further into the ground more regularly so they get what they want.

Blatter already said he regrets choosing Qatar.

The one making the point that you could hold the tournament in a dome in rural Russia and it would sell out every game because fans from all over the globe will flock no matter what. The other point was that Brazilians will not be the ones going to the game but foreigners, truth is it doesn't matter if the nation likes soccer or not

From an economics perspective I have to agree that just giving it to random shitty countries that don't have the infrastructure is not smart, and ends up costing them money. Brazil has unfinished stadiums and unfinished airport terminals. Not to mention shitty governments and crime issues. Qatar is a complete joke to get it.

Brazilians made 71% of ticket requests (4.3 million) in the first sales phase, and 80% of requests (2.6 million) in the second sales phase. But you're right, they probably won't be the ones attending.

The countries who host absolutely sell the most tickets, not even close.

It makes 100% sense to go to these poorer countries for the World Cup. They love their soccer and in no way can they afford to make a trip to Europe to watch. South America/Asia/Africa (depending on where) all deserve a chance to host the World Cup every so often, so that the countries within the continent have an easier time making it to the games.

Now, FIFA and the ridiculous demands on what needs to be built for them needs to be lessened so it is more feasible. But the countries themselves deserve the Cup, no question.

    Except Qatar. Fuck them.

If your country has never qualified for the WC you shouldn't be eligible to host.

Yeah, but you got my main point.

Countries who are soccer crazy shouldnt be deprived just because they are poor lol.

I agree. Most of those countries already have the facilities to host the WC.

Zidane only $3? That's a steal. Also, how does Baggio to make the list? I was a huge fan of him and Maldini back in the day.

I have no clue on some of the selections. But yeah, Zidane and Iniesta, imo, were the easiest choices for their price. Nesta for $1 as well...

Indeed. Some would argue that Nesta was better than Cannavaro. Italy's 2006 WC team was already very tough to score on, they would have been more dominant imo if Nesta didn't get hurt before the tournament.

Id say easily, but thats obviously just my opinion.. Nesta to me is a $3 or $4 guy on that list. Id have him and Maldini as the top defenders ever along with Beckenbaur and Moore.

EDIT: Obviously not having watched a whole lot of the older guys, but reading and doing a lot of research on the history of the game.

    $32.

My team would not lose lol. They have size, speed, and strength in every single position. Also we have one of the best right and left footed free kick takers with quite possibly the best arial threat of all time. DOMINATION
  • Laley23
lol. You could take 11 $1s and not lose.

True, but I like my team against yours. Ronaldo isn't doing shit against Sir Bobby Moore and my wingbacks are going to tear up the field since you dont have wide players lol
