Lol so jurgen should have said "Donovan was being a jackass, so we left him behind" ?

Lol, so now we want our national teams coach to publicly humiliate players? Jesus. No coach would ever say his players weren't working hard or anything, you always take the high road.
  • ohiobucks1
No. He could have said "we had personal differences in where we thought the team was going" or any number of things. He either 1) lied about him not being one of the 23 best. 2) is a shitty ass talent evaluator or 3) 99% of soccer evaluators are wrong

JK hasn't taken the high road through the process, though. He didn't even tell Goodson why he didn't make it. Goodson > Brooks in 2014. JK has played favorites towards those he has convinced to become US players, big time. I don't like the precedent.

    Exactly!

We shall see how they look in 90 mins.

Hopefully they look really good. However, Beasley and Fabian Johnson have to be the worst LB/RB combo in the group by a large margin and I don't rate Bedoya at all. Hope they prove me wrong.

Well Dempsey with an injured hamstring. Jesus this can't be good.

Azerbaijan's anthem sounds like a remix of the undertaker's entrance music.

Haven't had a good chance to evaluate the D as the US has been dominating possession. Altidore continues to look off. Bradley is also far and away our best player.
  • ohiobucks1
We look BAD. Bedoya+Beasley were as bad as I expect them to be. However, I wasn't expecting Besler to be so bad.

Good: Zusi (besides that last play) and Wondo getting into the action.
  • Ytowngirlinfla
Not sure about Beasley either. Made a few mistakes.

I don't know if I think we look BAD. Certainly don't look like a team with a whole lot of life or creativity. Just seemed like they were going through the motions that half.

I don't want to care too much bc it is a friendly. But were playing the ESPN Index 95th best team in the world (ranked 87th) and we haven't created jack shit besides one set piece. It's not promising.

Didnt see the 1st half, but Ill reserve judgment until after Turkey and Nigeria.

USA is going to have to be a counter team, so not creating shit when we dominate possession doesnt bother me at all since we wont EVER be in the situation in Brazil. Im much more interested to see how we do versus Turkey and Nigeria, who are more capable teams, in our defense and countering ability.

Even if we were up 4-0 right now, it wouldnt mean much since the gameplay wont ever be close to this in Brazil.

Obviously, I want to win and score lots of goals, but this game shows me nothing other than an "easy" warmup for the USA before the "real" friendlies begin to formalize the Brazil XI (and 3 subs).

If this is "easy" I want to change my belief from 20% chance to move on to 5% chance. We have really looked bad. Bedoya makes bad play after bad play, and sadly I think he might start for us.
  • gorocks99
They look shittier in the 2nd half. Damn.
  • gorocks99
    MIX! Fucking finally
  • Fab1b
    Finally breaks through 1-0 US
  • ohiobucks1
At least my boy (Mix) has still got it. Only 23, he's the real future. Also, I hope he joins the Crew this summer like the rumors I've been hearing.

I do enjoy soccer, played it for years and enjoy watching it still....But the acting and diving that goes on is so over the top. I cannot fucking stand it
  • Ytowngirlinfla
These have to be the worst refs ever. I swear I don't know what it is with Concacaf refs but they are awful. How many missed calls, hand ball, that challenge on Yedlin should have been a yellow.
  • gorocks99
I like Yedlin, he's very athletic and plays hard. As he gets the game under his feet he has the chance to be pretty good.
  • Fab1b
    Beautiful corner
  • Ytowngirlinfla
    Johannsson!
  • gorocks99
    Arronnnnnnn makes it 2-0!
