I'm glad Donovan was proving a point. 2 goals in MLS...and especially against Philadelphia mean absolutely nothing on performing in Brazil -- or even in USMNT 10-day camp. Many "experts" are continuously saying that Philadelphia is just an all-around bad team. So, this means that your choice in Edu is negated too. Bad times for him right now.
Ytowngirlinfla;1619679 wrote:Not really. His decisions on who to choose is all personal. So he makes a lot of questionable picks. The Donovan decision was from personal reasons in the past. How do you choose Timmy Chandler or Brooks or even Green?
I don't know anything about the decision, except for what was said in media. I am assuming that's all you know too. What I do know is Chandler and Brooks are easy picks over Donovan because they play completely different positions. Depth is needed in defense, Donovan will not provide that. The argument could be made against Green, fair enough...but, I still wasn't present during 10-day camp and have no idea how the players performed.

Yeah I'm not comparing scoring goals in MLS vs Philly means anything. I'm saying he was proving a point. I'm also not saying taking Chandler and Brooks over Donovan. I'm saying him taking those 2 are questionable. You can't tell me Green performed better than Donovan in camp. I still wonder what Brad Davis will do. He's just good at set pieces.

Green was a complete homer choice in favor of these German kids. I would almost guarantee he was told, sign with the US team and you'll go to the World Cup. Brooks is extremely shaky and to take him over Goodson? I know Goodson is older but he is still at this point better than Brooks. Oh yes and Chandler who had a horrible season and struggled with fitness over Brad Evans? Granted Evans isn't in form either but he's more versatile then Chandler.

Hoping the USA sucks it up because Donovan was left out...that's not the words of a true USA American.

Yeah I'm not a true american. I'm just in the military and all. I don't like Klinsmann. I don't like his decisions. I support the team but I don't support him.

Your military attendance means jack shit. You are not an American if you actively cheer against the us because they left off a favorite player of yours.

    You're a joke.

Actually I don't care about Donovan and he's not my favorite player. I'm not cheering against the US. You obviously know nothing about soccer. You just troll.

I don't know if Green performed better than Donovan in camp, and neither do you. Simple as that. I've said that from the beginning, in every conversation that I've gotten into regarding the selection. But, if he was "proving a point," then maybe he should've done it before camp. If this selection gets him motivated, then that's too late and his fault for not doing it earlier.

And, back to Chandler and/or Brooks...they are outside backs. Clarence Goodson is a center back. You have to have depth in outside back and center back. Simple as that. It's unfortunate at times that the "best 23 players" don't make it at times, but you cannot pick a team based on the best 23 players. You pick a team based on the best 23 players in each position that fits the team's formation and tactics.

You are talking to the same person that doesn't go to the browns backers bar, because all those browns fans would be hitting on her while the game is going on. LOL.

Never met a service man/woman that would root against their country. Pathetic.

Donovan also did himself 0 favors by retiring and then coming back and having to get into shape and fit for international play. If doesn't take a hiatus, he is probably in the starting XI the last 2 years like a Dempsey and has his position all but locked down...but he didn't. He tried to coast for a while and then come back and have his spot. Sorry, I don't feel bad for him.

On the outside, it looks personal and like Landon should've made it...but if you dig deeper, it makes plenty of sense why he didn't.

I'd personally have him in there for a 75' super sub...but to think it is automatic he should be there is just stupid, IMO.

Exactly, lol at being SHOCKED by Landon not making the team.

Honestly can't believe anyone would say this as a US fan, regardless of personnel decisions or anything. This is the biggest sporting event in the world and I want to see the US dominate even if it's the 23 Americans I hate the most out there.

What I mean by this, laley...and like that touched on this...but ytown said that she doesn't go to browns games at browns backer bars because all the male browns fans there would hit on her to the point of her being uncomfortable. Yeah...

I actually want this team to do really well. I just don't think we are set up to do well. It's not just Donovan. It's the other choices. I'll eat my words if his decisions pan out but I really don't think we will do well. I can have my opinion of not liking Klinsmann or his choices. A lot of pundits are questioning his decisions. Some of you act like it's just me thinking this.
