    Lol I can only imagine

eh, it's all technique. I learned when I was little, but you could definitely learn today. It's not like a real college game or anything since its an adult league where I get 15 yards of space everytime I touch the ball lol.

I was moved from defense to forward in 8th grade club.

played forward for my HS team for 4 years and then passed up the opportunity to play in college to try and walk on at Indiana. I didn't make it, but I was close. Pissed me off too, cause I outplayed some of their recruits, but they needed walk on help at defense and outside mid...which I was severely lacking after 5 years as a true #9...

That had to be really frustrating man, sucks to hear that. Did IU have a club team that you could play on? I didn't even both trying out for OSU's golf team but they had a club team I played pretty well for.

:) I got a good laugh out of your post!

It was a fortunate win, I'll admit that one. Never shoulda happened. Beard is still here...8 months of growth right now.

haha keep it going. I still have nightmares of the own goal that my team scored. It actually was freaking hilarious in hindsight. Do you remember the defender who skied the PK (I took them down the middle the rest of the year and was 3-3 haha)? He was the one who the goalie cleared it off (his face no less) on the OG. Nightmare game lol.

Kids a fiji though so IDGAF, although he did score like 9 or 10 goals this season at forward. Weird.

They did, but club wasn't for me. I could've played, but with the hours of Varsity, but shitty travel and no real benefit, I said fuck it and proceeded to get way out of shape.

I feel ya. I lost all my DI offers but a few small schools like evansville after I broke my back going into my senior year. OSU told me I could be a "preferred walk on" and I said GFY. I'm not trying to bust my ass to sit the bench with players I was better than in club just because I wasnt 6' 185.

I was the opposite of you guys. I played striker until my senior year then moved to right back. I was only a forward because I was big and fast and could finish. I didn't have a very good first touch but I was strong enough to hold the ball up make a move and I was gone. After leading the team in goals the previous two years I went to right back because no one else could play the position and our sweeper was slow so I always had to use my speed to recover for him. I played one year at Rutgers before quitting. The coach there basically had me pegged as a forward and with two juniors starting ahead of me I wasn't going to see much of the field for another year so I quit. What's funny is what you say about size is so true. I literally was speed and strength on the field. I was a smart player as well but didn't have any touch and I got a D1 offer while my buddy who was our club center mid had amazing ball skills and created most of our opportunities played at Otterbein.

Not to interrupt the circle jerk, but should we start a separate World Cup thread?

Matic, Fabergas, Hazard, Willian, and Schurrler all in the same midfield. Mwahahahaha (Ramires, Oscar, Mikel, and Salah off the bench lol).

Costa (or Lukaku) up top. Courtois in goal. All of the trophies are belonging to us.

MLS attendance has been doing really well and their TV deals keep getting better. We'll get there.

Where do you think it will get to?

WSJ had a report stating that 11% of the U.S. population watched some of the World Cup 4 years ago while 28% of U.S. population watched some of the NFL playoffs last year. How big can soccer get in the U.S.?

I think give it 10 years with these young kids who watch and play soccer I think it can grow up to 20%. Problem is you won't get any growth out of the older generation to watch soccer. I think the good majority of that 11% are under 40.

I would say 105% of the population watching is close.
