I am apparently one of the few that does not. I think Manziel is the third best QB in the draft and taking him at four would be OK, but I'd rather have one of the other two.

This is the greatest week in the history of Cleveland Sports.

The 2 biggest abortions in the history of Cleveland Sports (Joe Banner and Chris Grant) were finally put out to pasture to once again give the fans a reason to hope.

It has been clear to many of us that with someone like Joe Banner leading your organization that winning was impossible, and thankfully Halsam saw the light finally.

We all owe a debt of gratitude to that channel 4 reporter who asked Haslam about the 3 stooges, as I think it humiliated him and made him own up to the fact he had pieces of trash running this organization. Without that comment I am not sure we would be here today.

It is an exciting day to be a Browns fan.

I have zero problem with Farmer, I don't know why you keep thinking I do. He was key in building the Chiefs roster full of Pro Bowlers. This is a great gig for someone wanting to be a GM. They have some nice pieces already, a lot of cap room, and are set up well in the draft. Your trying to make arguments that aren't there.

Nah, Farmer had to be guarenteed he would be getting the job to stay.
Haslam gave himself an out here if indeed Banner ran the coaching search. If the new coach fails, then Haslam has his out saying that the HC was the selection of the old GM and "affords" him another chance with Farmer.

Does all seem pretty messed upl

Manziel isn't my favorite, but they have to take one of the 3. I basically just like the first pick being a QB, then the subsequent picks.

I am fine with them taking a QB, but I don't think they should trade up. I think Manziel is the worst case, settling for him at four.

    Incorrect.

    1) Ted Stepien.
    2) Art Modell.

Agree. Trading up would be a terrible idea. Best case scenario is Clowney and Matthews go in the top 3, and we get a choice of a couple different QB's.

I concur. Just have to hope they dont get duped like they did in the past a couple of times to move up one spot and get the same guy they would have if they hadn't traded.

Manziel as the worst case scenario is still pretty good for the browns. The kid will bring excitement to the offense. Have to admit, as steelers fan I would not be looking forward to the steelers defense chasing JM for the next 10 years

"This is a great day in Cleveland sports history"

    Lol only iggy.

Reminds me of his posts about how much excitement there is in Cleveland that we finally have a QB and RB, even though those players were weeden and Richardson lmao.

Just because you are excited iggy, doesn't mean you speak for the entire fan base (although I do like these two out and farmer in)

I'm excited for Farmer to run this draft, especially knowing what kind of personnel he brought to KC. I don't think we'll see any of the "WTF, Brandon Weeden?" moments on draft day.

And then Iqqy said, "We finally have a QB in weeden!"

What's up guys. Took a hiatus for a little while, but HOLY CRAP! I didn't take a hiatus from Browns news.

While it seems silly to fire A. head coach, B. the general manager, and C. the CEO all within one year of their hire, this is freaking awesome. Everyone knew these guys were chodes as soon as we hired them, and now we have a bright, young talent evaluator making the calls in our draft. Obviously, we still have to put the product together on the field, but I for one am excited to purge ourselves of these putrid members of our front office.

He also said the browns were gonna sell tickets now, even though they sell out everyone game. LOL

Maybe he was confusing them with the bengals who couldnt even sell out their playoff game until corporations stepped in!

Haha a former member of this site on another site..

"I heard haslam walked in a meeting and said 'banner, Lombardi you're fired get out' and everyone was dead silent"

I definitely do not miss his "stories" on here that 90% turned out to be untrue.

I saw that. "I heard" = "I read on OBR".

Adam Schefter ‏@AdamSchefter 18m CLEV hiring former Chiefs VP of Player Personnel Bill Kuharich to assist new Browns GM Ray Farmer, per sources. They worked together in KC.

Hard to argue with the success they had in KC.

    I heard..I saw on OBR...this probably didn't happen

    That's how it goes

[h=1]Alex Mack More Likely To Stay With Browns After Regime Change[/h]
    Feb 11, 2014 3:25 PM EST

Alex Mack will certainly test free agency, but his odds of re-signing with the Cleveland Browns have increased with the changes made in the front office.
Mack and the previous regime had developed bad feelings due to lack of contract progress.
Mack was a Pro Bowl selection in 2010 and 2013.

great decision by Haslem. Why let that abortion go on for another year. I just wish this was in place before the coaching search started...although, everyone seems to love the new HC around the league. I haven't bothered to learn his name yet...not worth the trouble unless he makes it through a year...lol

Sorry if it's posted but I wonder how valid this story is. Someone posted an abbreviated version about how Banner got to the Browns over on the scout forum about 10 days ago. Thought it'd be nice if they fired Lombardi but didn't think it'd actually happen till today.

Not valid at all. Who is Shawn Starr? Did a google search, seems like a wedding photographer in Hawaii or a sergeant in the army in Georgia with 3 kids. Sure either one of them is really tied into the Browns background info /sarcasm. Sure SE is rubbing his penis to this though, about to write "TOLD YOU SO" in this thread.

I follow Dawg Pound Nation on Fb, and that guy did call it a while ago that Lombardi was on the way out. When he posts stuff about the team, it's 9 times out of 10 correct. Supposedly he knows someone within the organization I think I read. I know a lot of people claim that, but like I said, the majority of his claims do end up being true.
