Hyperbole is an effective debate tool. I merely use an extreme to prove a point and you take it as a realistic example.

The fail is on you for not recognizing the over arching point in my post. Carry on.

In a 3-4, having 11 Lineman in training camp is a lot. Do you even football bro?

I recognized it, and I labeled it a reach. Not surprised you couldn't comprehend that.

Considering the front 7 takes up about 64% of the defense, you want a lot of guys at TC. Most of those guys are there to be bodies at camp. Let me know when can speak knowledgeably about football. Thanks.

I'm not surprised either considering his past few posts in this thread.

I was talking about this with a co-worker today. While they may not be trading Hoyer to the Texans, I could still see it happening, mostly because of the signing of Rex Grossman. Point is, Rex Grossman, while not great, has a lot of experience and is an ideal back up. You don't sign him to be a 3rd string practice squad QB. You sign young developmental guys like Thaddeus Lewis for that. Also, if Hoyer isn't the starter, I doubt he wants to be here. And obviously whoever the back up is, is going to bring controversy either time the starter fucks up.He wants his shot somewhere and I could see him getting it. Do the Browns know that Manziel will be the starter right now? Maybe, maybe not. But I think there is a chance. I might have my tin foil hat on, but if you start to connect the dots, it makes some sense.

Your ripping the argument for Phil Taylor for "having" good years but say he is expendable. But then use the same argument that Andre had a good year last year and is going to be good for years.

    doesn't make sense.

Phil Taylor and hoyer for an old receiver is about the dumbest thing I've heard In a while

Im debating going to the St Louis Browns game August 23. Its my birthday, and hopefully Manziel will be starting the dress rehersal, and the Kevin Love trade becomes official. What an awesome day that can / will be!

No tin foil hat at all. Your reasoning is sound. I doubt Grossman was brought in to be the 3rd stringer.

Downtown will be a zoo with the Tribe having a huge fireworks display and the Gladiators hosting the Arena Bowl.

same here boss. I was checking out ticket prices last night. $40 for lower level seat around the 20 yard line.

You know what pisses me off? I have 8 season tickets and I have to pay FULL PRICE for those preseason tickets.

Adam Schefter just tweeted the NFL is considering stiffer punishment for domestic violence. WTF. NOW?! How fucking convienent.

last comment on Andre Johnson. The past few years I've been a huge advocate of drafting a WR high. Wanted Jones (right on that) and Blackmon (wrong). With the emergence of Gordon, I'm over the want. You don't trade for Andre Johnson until you hear about Gordon's suspension. If Gordon is suspended 8 games or less, you don't trade for Johnson. You don't trade Phil for Johnson no matter what. Old WRs, no matter the talent, always seem to go real cheap in the trade market. There isn't room for two #1s in Johnson and Gordon.

Regardless of reports, I feel the WR corps will be serviceable without Gordon (assuming Austin stays healthy). They are elite with him and the same assumption. Gordon, Austin, Hawkins, and Cameron. Johnson is an elite talent still, but he is just as much, if not more injury prone than Austin. You don't trade Phil Taylor and a potential starting QB for a 1 year loan on an aging, injury prone WR (assuming Gordon is back next season). Just my two cents.

Florio posted about an hour ago on PFT that it could mean Gordon is indeed getting the year ban, and that knowing it will cause a firestorm they are pre-emptively putting this out there about the harsher penalties for domestic violence incidents.

He said there is a good chance we will hear the verdict at about 4:59 Friday afternoon, which is the traditional news dump period for stuff that is bad news.

If Gordon is done for the year then you need to start Johnny this year and see what you have. This team isn't winning shit this year without Gordon, and with the likelihood of having 2 high picks in a draft next year that looks strong on QB's you need to know if you should be looking.

Pettine could go 0-16 and his job would be safe, so don't waste this year. Play our young guys and see what we have.

I'm a huge Johnny fan, but if he shits the bed this year then you move on and take a Mariotta/Hundley/Winston type next year with 1 of our 2 #1's.

If Gordon is gone it's a lost season. Don't compound a bad situation by letting Johnny rot on the bench while a guy who has no future with the franchise starts at QB.

I'm a huge manziel fan, but if he has a poor rookie year it's time to move on lmao

If you're a manziel fan, doesn't that mean you know he's going to be good? I've never ever heard someone say they are a huge Fan of a player then say if they don't play well, it's time to move on. Wow
  • Lovejoy1984
For someone who's pretty much anointed JFF as a cross between Jesus, and Joe Namath, ready to cut bait on him pretty quick.
  • BR1986FB
Some of these national analysts have implied the same thing about the two #1's. Buffalo's #1 could be pretty high and if they don't think Manziel is their guy, they could go back-to-back on 1st round QB's.

What I don't get is the "if Gordon is done for the year, you gotta play Johnny" crap. How are you going to truly evaluate a rookie QB when he doesn't have his top weapon in his arsenal? Just dumb....

The rest of your post isn't wrong, but his part is wrong.

ATL disagrees with you with White and Jones.
Chicago disagrees with you with Jeffrey and Marshall.
GB disagrees with you with Cobb and Nelson.

    Going back in time:
Peyton disagrees with you with Wayne and Harrison.
The best show on turf disagrees with you with Holt and Bruce.
Marino disagrees with you with Duper and Clayton.
The 49ers disagree with you with Owens and Rice.
The Vikings disagree with you with Moss and Carter.
The Steelers disagree with you with Stallworth and Swan.
The 49ers disagree with you again with Rice and Taylor.

I could keep going but you get the idea. Having 2 #1 WRs is NOT a bad thing. Having no #1s (which is what the Browns have had since we came back until Gordon) is a bad thing.

It's never a bad thing to have two legit WR's. Teams focus on Gordon which leaves Cameron as the only other viable target. If Austin stays healthy (big if), he can be a solid #2. I'm not banking on Burleson and I have no idea what they have in Hawkins. I thought he was going to be a stud but am wondering if he's just a shiftier verson of Davone Bess, minus the crazies.
