No I go to games because I enjoy it, live is better, I can afford it, and I like to show the team/city support. Plus being surrounded by browns fans is great. Can't replace the tailgating at muni. Stop being a bitch boy and go to games.

COA to be fair to you I have one more thing to add. When I talked about deciding whether to go to a game and talked about shelling out dough for a mediocre product, I wasn't talking about the 2012 and 2013 Steelers. There's not really an excuse for fans (as a group) to not go when the team is perennially playing meaningful games. I was talking about fan bases like Royals, Bills, Browns, Sac Kings, etc. Those teams have are year in and year out mediocre or worse.

And dude I would have gone to the Browns-Bears if I had been back in Ohio in time, I was speaking in generalities.

Best fans, hands down. Going to a game means something, plain and simple. IE: a guy quit hsi fucking job so he could be in cleveland and closer to go to games. Browns fans just pwn. Plain and simple. I dont know about you, but I want to experience that at the stadium with other fucking awesome browns fans, instead of a bar. $60 to go to the game, or thr $30/$40 I'd spend at the bar is insignificant.

Dont live in Cleveland I understand, but if you live in Cleveland or near your team of choice, sack up and go to a game. Support your team regardless bc you're prideful of your city and the athletes that represent you and your city.

Give me a fucking break lhslep. Your approach to this is borderline con_almaish. Using your logic, it would be easy to defend fanbases such as Miami, Jacksonville, Cincy, San Diego, etc.

Defending them would require me to proactively care. I think I've made it quite obvious that my approach is that I frankly don't care, my point is just that if someone from one of those fan bases doesn't go and instead watches at home with friends over or goes to a bar because they don't feel like spending the money, then I can appreciate that economic justification.

But yes, I supposed you could use my logic to defend them but that would require a few things:

    1) you care
    2) they don't go to games but still care about the team and support them in other ways (which isn't always the case with those fan bases! that's essential to my point).
    3) their justification is purely economical

FIFY, you forgot the last part. Cleveland fans care more than most other fan bases. Thus making them a better more passionate fan base. Pretty simple to me.

inb4 someone says I care too much about what other fans do, because that is the go to cop out. I don't, i just call it the way I see it and the way I see it is pittsburgh fans are not good fans. They especially aren't as good of fans as they (or the media) portray themselves. If you choose to get butt hurt over my opinion, that is your problem.

You definitely don't care too much. COA doesn't either. I used to care like you guys did, I just don't anymore. If you want to talk about fan reality vs. fan portrayal by media, I'll indulge you because it's not a personal thing for me and neither is that conversation.

Anyone else a tad concerned about JFF's drinking issue?

No. He's 21 and partying like most of us did at that age.

No. And why do you call it an issue?

    What did he do?

And like most of the league does. This is not out of the ordinary for pro athletes. It's just very public because of who it is.

Probably the vide of him saying, "I can't hear you, I have so much fucking money in my hands"

SportsAndLady;1627107 wrote:No. And why do you call it an issue?
Because I had heard he had to go to counseling while at A&M.

I agree that it could be just the "21 year old being a 21 year old' but if it ends up affecting his play on the field he's going to come under heavy scrutiny.

Could be a non-issue but I just wish our weekend JFF "updates" weren't Instagram photos of him constantly getting hammered.

    On that subject.

    http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/11092514/aaron-rodgers-green-bay-packers-big-johnny-manziel-fan
"There was no [Jon] Gruden quarterback camp to sit down and get picked apart," Rodgers said. "This group is so under the microscope, and it's way too much scrutiny for a person that age, but I'm a big Johnny Manziel fan. He's fun to watch. I watched him a lot in college."I think there's different ways of doing it. Johnny looks like he feels real comfortable living his life and dealing with what comes, and he should. He's a young guy doing young-guy stuff."

    Well said IMO.

Everyone has to go to counseling in college when they get in trouble for under age drinking. I had to go to some bs meeting because my RA saw a beer can in my dorm room where I had to tell the instructor I have a problem and I will work to fix it, just to get out of the meeting.

Manziel doesn't have a drinking problem he just likes to party.

And of course if this effects his play we will be concerned, but so far it hasn't so who cares?

Probably not long before training camp, assuming it happens.
