Oh shit I thought we were talking about Marc Gasol lol

In reference to mark at least, I know he's good. And hes a top center, I just don't like how he plays. Every time I watch I just get frustrated with him. Depending on my team I def think I would prefer at least 5 other big men.

That would also be idiotic. Marc Gasol is at min a top 15 player in this league.

I thought that as well....but do not think Marc is overrated at all.

Must not have watched the Olympics. He almost handedly won the game vs. USA, he is a beast. The best offensive center in the league

Correct, I did not. And I am not saying that any of you are wrong. I'm sure many of you know much more about basketball than I do, I just don't like his game from what I've seen. He took bad shots a lot from what I saw, albeit many of those were against the spurs so who knows haha

My b on Marc Gasol. Well his statement is even worse then IMO and showcases lack of NBA knowledge. Dude posted a 20 PER and a 12.5 Value of Wins Added.

And won DPOY. While that was controversial, he was in the discussion at the very least. Easily a top player.

No dude, he said Marc Gasol was average. How ridiculous is that?!

Saying either Gasol is average is laughable. Marc Gasol though, LOL. Not sure there is a better all around center in the league. I'd take him over Dwight.

Let it note I have no problem with Marc Gasols D. I just don't like how he plays on the offensive end. I think he's a good player though. Saying he's average is kinda crazy. I do think based on how I hear you guys talk about him that he's overrated though. I would not take him over Dwight (at least in basketball skills).

He's a stud on both ends of the court. Dwight's defense really feel off last year, his FT% is garbage and he's 6'9" without shoes. Gasol is a true 7' and shoots a better True Shooting Percentage, has a higher AST ratio etc...

If Dwight can get back to how he was in the 09 season where he was a top 5 player then we can rediscuss. At this point though, back surgery etc... I'm picking Marc Gasol.

Fair enough. It's clear from what everyone says that I must have seen Marc during some of his poorer performances (including vs the spurs who have defense sets that probably focused on limiting him) or I am a bad talent evaluator... either one lol

That, and the Grizzlies weren't really on TV that much (I think only 7 or 8 national TV games) I watched them a lot on League Pass because of Conley. Towards the beginning of the season I was like shocked how good Gasol was. I think I watched ~20 of their games and he was impressive even in the ones he didn't put up numbers with all of the things that don't show up on the scoreboard (such as a great move to set up a pass that sets up the basket).

Very similar to what Cavs fans have been saying about Anderson Varejao for a long time, except Gasol stays healthy and has an offensive game. And shoots the best FT% among Centers in the league.

His PER had him at 8th in the league for Center's who averaged 30 mins a game and played in 60 plus games. I think you meant Estimated Wins Added and not Value of a Wins added. Anyways, among Centers following the same criteria, Gasol was 4th. He was behind Brook Lopez, Horford and Al Jefferson in both categories.

14.1 and 7.8 a game were his 3rd highest for each stat in his 5 year career. IMO, his stats will be deflated because of the system he plays in and because he plays with a great offensive player in Z-Bo. His importance to his team is not his offense but how great of a defender he is. I don't know how much the offense will change with a new coach but it shouldn't too much since their new coach was an assistant for the team last year. As long as Gasoline remains a force on defense, he will be at the top of the list of Centers.

Gasol was 3rd among C (16th overall) in offensive win shares behind Tyson Chandler and Brook Lopez. He was 2nd in the league in defensive win shares behind Paul George. He was 6th in the league overall in total win shares.

OJ Mayo to Bucks 3 yr $24 mill

Surprised he only got $2 mill a year more than Kyle Korver
