IMO, his biggest weakness is rebounding. I'm not sure he ever gets more than say 7 RPG. He could average 4+ blocks and 15+ points next year though, and I can see him becoming an elite offensive big man.

Very similar to LaMarcus Aldridge coming out of college with slightly more athleticism and much better defense. LaMarcus took a few years, but he always had the soft hands and elite offensive skill.

Early WC predictions...

1. OKC (IN - Steven Adams and Grant Jerrett/OUT - Kevin Martin)...They need a replacement for Martin unless they are counting on Lamb really stepping up.
2. San Antonio (IN - Belinelli and Pendergraph/OUT - Gary Neal(?) and DeJuan Blair(?)...As a longtime fan of this franchise(been a fan of Timmy's since he was at Wake Forest), I wanted to see them get better down low and would have been ok with letting Splitter go as long as it was an improvement. Didn't happen and overpaid him. Could have done better than Pendergraph. But who am I to argue what moves this franchise makes after so many years of great ones.
3. LA Clippers (IN - Redick, Dudley, Collison, Reggie Bullock/OUT - Caron Butler, Billups, Bledsoe and Turiaf)...They re-signed CP3 and now have Doc Rivers as their HC, didnt/doesn't matter what else they do.
4. Golden State(IN - Iguodla, Speights, Jermaine O'Neal, Toney Douglas/OUT - Jarrett Jack, Carl Landry, Richard Jefferson and Biedrins). As long as Curry and Bogut stay healthy, they will be fine.
5. Houston (IN - Dwight Howard, Isiah Canaan, Omri Casspi/OUT - Carlos Delfino, Aaron Brooks)...Team needs more shooters and probably an upgrade at the 4 with a shooter. When Howard has succeeded he has had stretch 4's along side of him. Also, not sure how far they can go with Lin as the PG.
6. Memphis (IN - Kosta Koufos, Jamaal Franklin/OUT - Darrell Arthur)..Need more shooting. That was their downfall against the Spurs, as San Antonio just packed in the lane and let everyone not named Gasol and Randolph try to beat them and it resulted in the Grizz getting swept. Their bench is weak too.
7. Denver(IN - Hickson, Foye, Darrell Arthur/OUT - Iguodala, Koufos, Corey Brewer)...Getting rid of George Karl will bite them in the ass, and so will losing Iguodala. Not a superstar but it left them without a star. Gallinari will be out for a while to start the season. If they can get Monte Ellis, it might move them to 6.
8. Minnesota (IN - Kevin Martin, Corey Brewer, Ronny Turiaf, Shabazz Muhammed/OUT - Ridnour, Kirilenko)...2 HUGE IF's for their season 1-Re-signing Pekovic and 2- the health of Love and Rubio. They might be able to get by without Pekovic by bringing in someone via trade but even if they bring him back, a healthy Love and Rubio will be even bigger concern if they want to get back in the playoffs for the first time in 10 seasons.

9.New Orleans - Holiday, Evans, Gordon...Will they all get enough shots to remain happy. I think Davis will have a big sophomore season.
10.Portland - They should win more games than last year but end up out of the playoffs. They still have one of the worst benches in the league.
11.LA Lakers - The more games that Kobe misses, the better their chances of getting a great pick in the draft. Outside of Kobe, this team will struggle tremendously. Nash/Meeks/Young/Gasol and Kaman? 2 glaring weaknesses and Nash and Kaman each have missed 40+ games combined over the last 2 seasons.
12 Sacramento is on their way up with their youth. If Cousins can keep his attitude in check, he could put some bigger numbers than previous years. Losing Evans is addition by subtraction. McLemore will have a great rookie season.
13 and 14. Dallas and Utah are on their way down. Mark Cuban better be making some changes fast. Struck out on free agency big time this year. Utah should be fun to watch with Trey Burke but other than that, the team doesn't have much going for them in the backcourt and i'm not sold on Favors/Kanter frontcourt.
15. Phoenix has 5 role players as starters. They could get out of the conference basement if Bledsoe does well as a full time starter. Len should struggle at first but will do well as the season progresses with Gortat and Scola playing along side of him.

Eastern Conference shorter version...

1 Miami will coast through the regular season once again.
2. Indiana will have another strong season. If they have one weakness it is their backcourt but they should be ok. Granger will be key once the playoffs come around.
3/4 Brooklyn, Chicago - can flip flop them if Rose doesnt come back strong and Nets don't gel but I think both will workout in their respective favors. Nets may just have the best bench in the league.
5 New York - Will underachieve like every year
6 Cleveland - All depends on the health of Bynum/Irving and Varejao
7 Washington - youth will guide them.
8 Atlanta - desperately need Brandon Jennings

9 Detroit For some reason, I really like the Josh Smith signing. Getting Billups back won't hurt either.
10 Milwaukee is still a question mark because Jennings hasn't made up his mind yet.
11-15 Honestly I dont know how well they would do if the rest of EC teams combined as one.

Definitely wanted to play for a contender after taking a pretty big paycut.

$7 mil is a HUGE paycut. Do you know how much the player option is for?

In the neighborhood of $11 mil. Case and point of a player over valuing themselves. Just like Ellis. With Millsap, I heard that his agent came out in FA asking for $15 mill a season, no team offered that and money dried up quick which is why he ended up signing the 2 yr deal in Atl. Had his agent not been a dumb fuck a $12 mil 4-5 deal would have been available.

There was money to go around this offseason but you are correct with players over valuing themselves. Teams are more patient to tank this season in hopes of the mega draft and free agent pool next year.

good stats... I will say I think Gasol is overrated. Every time I've watched him play (albeit only like 10 times last season) I came away very very unimpressed. A lot of dumb plays. A lot of unnecessary shots when other guys were open, etc etc.

Lakers last year were a mess and he was injured. He's been pretty incredible and top 3 most talented bigs in the league for a decade. I'll give him a pass last season for some bad outings.

To say he sucks etc, like HB elluded to based on stat sheet scouting is pretty dumb though and has zero merit to it. He should just admit his fail on that one and move on.
