@jharrison9292: It's been a great run but all good things must come to a end. Thank you Steelers Nation I will miss you all!

Just saw 5 potential teams Harrison could end up with...Pats, Browns, Saints, Texans, Ravens.

NE bound if I had to guess.

He had a nice run in the black n' gold.

Reports are that he rejected a 30% pay cut with incentives to earn his full salary.

It had to be done. What made Harrison a great player, and feared, was that he was one mean SOB and yeah, pretty much an asshole.
What made him great was also one of the reasons why I knew he wouldnt be back as he wouldnt give in to paycuts and such. I think he can have 1-2 solid years left but they just couldnt afford him

I just read that urlacher is a possiblilty for the steelers as the bears are unlikely to pay him 8 million for this year

    aint happening.

If he cannot agree on a salary with the bears he isnt going to agree with the steelers for even elss.

well as sleeper would say..whatever the market will bear lol. i mean if they dont give him 8 million its hard to beleive another team would. if the offers dont come rolling in for him he may not have much of a choice. if we redo simmons deal and cut colon we should have some dollars now that harrison is off the books

Harrison's going to regret not taking a paycut. I'd heard Pittsburgh was looking to restructure his base to $4.8 million (down from $6.5 million)? He's going to be very hard pressed to find someone that will pay him more than that $4.8 million per year.

    Agreed.

Have to wonder how much of it was the agent or Harrison himself. Of anyone who we figured wouldnt agree to a cut it would be him though.

Off topic for the Pittsburguese but we ventured over to the Rivers Casino yesterday afternoon. Hated it. Place was packed wall to wall. It was very uncomfortable. Nice place though. Maybe we would've had a better experience without the crowd. Liked the Meadows (last week) a lot more. Got more than our share of dirty looks with the Browns gear on.

harrison said at the end of the season he wasnt taking a paycut

The Fins are essentially competing against themselves for his service from what I've heard. Supposedly, nobody else is dumb enough to pay his asking price which is believed to be somewhere in the 5 year/ $60 million range.
  • Automatik
Yeah looking for a similar contract to Dwayne Bowe's. IMO, neither are worth it.

lolphins have attendance issues (shocking! /sarcasm). Wallace is a big name FA that will drive ticket sales.
  • killer_ewok
Steelers did re-sign Ramon Foster to a 3-year deal today.

Not a gambler at all but we routinely would stop at Wheeling island before/after games and then to the meadows. Been to the Rivers twice but just too busy as we would usually do it after games and such. Heck..we can see th front doors of the casino from our seats.

I dont want to see Harrison go to the browns. Mostly because I think he has just enough left in the tank to play lights out at times, and you know that would be against the steelers.
I forget...do the browns run the 3-4 or 4-3? With all their coaching changes and such I forget! He is most def an OL in the 3-4 and that would be it.

Browns are converting to a 3-4 so Harrison would fit. It does sound like he might be willing to play for the Browns for a tad less since he's a NE Ohio native and getting "closer to home" seems to be a priority. Browns new D-Coordinator is former Steeler coach, Ray Horton, who learned Lebeau's system.

As much as Mantooth may curl up into the fetal position and cry, Watson's a free man to go wherever he wants.

3-4 takes alot of very good LB's to pull off and a good DC to be able to scheme it. I always said the 3-4 is based a bit more on fooling the offense in what is coming whereas the 4-3 you count more on the DE's to just plain outplay the OT's. I prefer the 3-4 because I feel it gives a team more athletes on the field hence more flexibility in what you can do. PLus the steelers hve been damned good at it for a long time.
