he is a priority to sign..but im sure someone with more cap space can outbid us. most likely he would have to take slightly less to stay. but i think we would give him a substantial offer. similar to the way we handled wallace when he turned down 5 year 50 million to see if he could get more elswhere.Automatik;1401846 wrote:What is the word on Keenan Lewis? Are they aiming to resign? I'm sure he will get a lot of interest from other teams. -

QB is the most important position. I'd rather have that locked down as opposed to not.BR1986FB;1401852 wrote:Roethlisberger does...the rest of the roster doesn't.
I'd love to keep Lewis, but I kinda think he will bounce for more cash. He made some nice plays last year in a secondary that has been pissing me off every year. I'm so fucking sick of being a stat champ on D and then getting gashed through the air at the worst possible times. -

in his/their defense they havent had ANY pass rush to speak of for the last 2-3 years. there is only so many seconds you can cover a guy. especially on obvious passing downs.Automatik;1401860 wrote:QB is the most important position. I'd rather have that locked down as opposed to not.

That's rough considering 3 of those guys are done/on the downside of their careers.Gblock;1401871 wrote:QB Ben Roethlisberger -- $19,595,000

No doubt. It's a good "problem" to have.Automatik;1401860 wrote:QB is the most important position. I'd rather have that locked down as opposed to not. -
Gblockand heath miller has basically been ruled out for the year already

And Woodley took a huge step back last year from what he had been doing previously.Gblock;1401879 wrote:and heath miller has basically been ruled out for the year already -

Didn't one of his Steeler teammates call out either Woodley or Timmons (can't remember which one it was) for "dogging it" this year?Heretic;1402033 wrote:And Woodley took a huge step back last year from what he had been doing previously. -

AutomatikSean Spence also will be out to start the season. Not sure if he would see significant time, but still hurts in regards to depth.

his knee was completely tore up and dislocated it will be interesting to see if he ever makes it back at all. i hope so he was looking good in preseason last year.Automatik;1402039 wrote:Sean Spence also will be out to start the season. I knew it was something that would imply being slow. :laugh:Gblock;1402037 wrote:i beleive they called him "Fat" -
Gblocki also love how harrison already came out and said hes not taking less money like we cant do without the 2 sacks he had last year and the multiple times he was supposed to cover someone or has edge responsibility but he is looking in the backfield and totally out of position

Yeah. My response would be "Well, James, it's been real. Thanks for your time and have fun playing for whoever needs a past-his-prime LB who probably will be known more for yelling about the commissioner than collecting stats in the future" to that sort of comment. Harrison's the sort of player you love when they're productive because they put up huge numbers and give opposing teams a reason to really dislike you...but when they start faltering, they can become a liability for the organization very quickly due to their general outspokenness.Gblock;1402046 wrote:i also love how harrison already came out and said hes not taking less money like we cant do without the 2 sacks he had last year and the multiple times he was supposed to cover someone or has edge responsibility but he is looking in the backfield and totally out of position -

Agreed. Loved him as a Steeler, but when it's time to go, it's time to go.Heretic;1402107 wrote:Yeah. My response would be "Well, James, it's been real. This isn't the first time we've had a situation like this and it won't be the last. I remember as a kid when they let Carnell Lake walk. I was so pissed. -
Commander of AwesomeNot even trying to troll, but Harrison just seems like an immature punk. 2 sacks, and slidding production plus a PITA to deal with? Seems like a no brainer to let him walk.
-
Heretic
Pretty much. He's the sort of guy you love when he's doing well and on your side...but when the production goes, all you get is the negative and it's more pronounced. For you, a decent parallel would probably be someone like Albert Belle. Trying to run down punk kids during Halloween is one thing when you're bringing in 40/100 stat lines, but if he had been with Cleveland during the end of his career, odds are his general insanity would have made him less liked in town.Commander of Awesome;1402190 wrote:Not even trying to troll, but Harrison just seems like an immature punk. 2 sacks, and slidding production plus a PITA to deal with? It's not trolling if it's factual observation. But you forgot the pretty much constant personal fouls. You can disagree with the rules all you want but you still have to follow them and it only hurts the team when you don't.Commander of Awesome;1402190 wrote:Not even trying to troll, but Harrison just seems like an immature punk. 2 sacks, and slidding production plus a PITA to deal with? AutomatikHarrison is border line retarded and has zero sense of filtering when he opens his mouth. This is nothing new.
His personal fouls have lessened, but I'm guessing a lot of that has to do with the age and the decline of his skills on the field. -
Ironman92I still give Harrison one more year....if Heath is out for the year, is he cuttable? Has Colon ever been worth $8 million?
-
Gblocki would give harrison one more year for 5-6 million..no way 10 million. for 10 million we could make a run at any number of free agents who are younger healthier and more productive. as far as the personal fouls, i kinda liked that. it set the tone for our team and also stopped anyone from going in the middle. we also owe james the superbowl against the cards. 100 yd int return w/no time on clock. if he doesnt get in we lose that game probably.
-
AutomatikCould be gone next week? I think they cut him.

BR1986FBI've always heard that Pittsburgh "uses up a guy for all he's worth and then cuts bait." Well...Harrison is washed up/done. It would be no great loss if Pittsburgh cuts ties with him. They plug in Worilds and draft a new guy to groom/rotate.
All Harrison does any more is flap his gums. He's got more mouth than a cows' got twat.
Just don't send Harrison's punk ass to Cleveland. If that happens, they might as well just sign Michael Vick, Joakim Noah, AJ Pierzynski & Hitler too so I can be at an optimum level of hate for the franchise.
