It's not about "caring" its just discussing the topic. -

Especially when he's the first one to mention "bandwagon" on the thread. Lulz. But he doesn't care.Automatik;1377754 wrote:We care, you don't, yet you are so adamant about discussing your fandom rules? I don't get it.

I grew up watching CBC9 out of Windsor. HNIC was either Toronto or Montreal. I picked The Habs and friend down the street went Leafs. Never felt much of an affection towards the Blue Jackets since I did not grow up watching them and they arrived in my adulthood. I actually prefer the minor league style or more action and looser play and would rather watch the Walleye (Storm) or Monsters.ernest_t_bass;1377730 wrote:What about NHL fans from Ohio, who grew up loving hockey, but grew allegiance to another team b/c Ohio didn't have a Hockey team? Do they need to immediately jump on the Blue Jacket train? What if, say, the Blue Jackets won the Stanley Cup in their inaugural season? Wouldn't that be more fitting of a "bandwagon fan," if said fan started rooting for them after said inaugural season? -

Being on my phone screen I thought it was a couple counties higher....had I recognized it as Athens I would've gotten there.
Thanks though -
Ironman92If the "Ohio" part is so important to who you root for....then why did you guys move so far away? Did you move because you have good jobs that require moving around to other parts of the U.S. where your job is thriving at the time?.....that seems not very loyal to your origin, you've moved on.....bandwagon style.

Someone that likes a team because that team is always a top team in the league, and if that team starts to suck, jumps ship to another team that is winning.Enforcer;1377895 wrote:So what is Everyones definition of a bandwagon fan?? Commander of AwesomeRooting for a team that you have no ties to. If you don't live in the area, you need strong deep routes ties to team to pass the test. Horse farm in state that you went to as a kid doesn't cut it. Need least a generation of family rooting for team if not from area.
If your family ties started as a bandwagon, IE not from state (Pittsburgh fans in Youngstown for example) youre still a bandwagoner. -

On the old Huddle, there was a guy, bbmind, who was really in-depth. Perhaps more, because he used in-state things like I-70 as a way to determine if you should cheer for Cleveland or Cincinnati. And also went so far as to say that if you were from Ohio and went to another college (MAC, Cincinnati), that you should still cheer for Ohio State to beat your school because of how they were the state school of Ohio and, therefore, superseded all others.GoChiefs;1377937 wrote:It is most peoples definition. Made me feel bad for people a few states over, since all those Carolina and Duke fans would have to think it sucks to know they really should be rooting for the NC State basketball team, but that's life, I guess! -

sportswizuhrdSo had the city of Cleveland NOT got another team, who would the Browns fans be required to be a fan of...
Pittsburgh?

Detroit?
Baltimore? -

If you went to the school, fine I can see it. However I was an OSU fan since day 1, family is OSU fans etc... I've been to more OSU games than any other college and didn't go to my university's football games because they were on during OSU. I rooted for OSU over any other school. 4lyfeHeretic;1378499 wrote:On the old Huddle, there was a guy, bbmind, who was really in-depth.
