I don't know if Romo will eclipse Flacco, but he might come close. If Romo walks in there saying, "See what Flacco got?", all Jones has to do is say, "See what Flacco actually did?".BR1986FB;1398830 wrote:Don't be surprised if Romo, yes Romo, eclipses Flacco's deal. What I like about it is that these huge contracts hamstring these teams (see Pittsburgh constantly restructuring Roethlisberger) to re-sign their own.
It really look like Flacco might've made a mistake by rejecting the Ravens original offer with the way he was playing during the regular season. Pretty sure his QBR was good enough for like 25th in the league. This postseason, coupled with his previous postseason success, is what is obviously the catalyst for his nine-figure salary.
Romo, statistically, may put up slightly better numbers than Flacco during the regular season, but he's never shown the ability to step-up during the postseason. If Romo, of all NFL QBs, tops Flacco's contract, it'll have to be one of the Top 5 worst contracts ever given in NFL history. (Right behind Vick's $100 MIL deal with Philly). -

Pick6
Nope.sportchampps;1398927 wrote:Cowboys don't have very much salary cap room to work with do they? -
buckeyes_wooweeWas part of a mock draft with some friends that allowed trades and this is what I ended up with. Traded 6th pick to Titans for their 2nd and a 5th.
1 (10)-Chance Warmack G Bama
2 (40)-Margus Hunt DE SMU
3 (68)- Jamar Taylor CB Boise St.
4 (101)- EJ Manuel QB FSU
5 (132)-Jamie Collins OLB Southern Miss
5 (135)-Stansly Maponga OLB TCU
6 (163)-Joseph Fauria TE UCLA
6 (165)-Brad Wing P LSU
Obviously it was all just fun and will be way off but I will be thrilled if the draft played out this way for the Browns. I went into it with the assumption the Browns will get a veteran WR and S. -

Warmack will be gone by 10..manuel isn't falling to the 4th.
But that would be pretty rad though -
BR1986FBIt's from MKC so take it FWIW...

# Browns are expected to target 1-2 big-name players in free agency. -
Commander of Awesomelol at "big name" players. Usually means players who are past their prime and no longer good. Teams don't let "big names" go that are still productive. See Mario Williams as most recent example.
I understand that MKC is just trying to get clicks and info out there, why not just say, "Browns are expected to be active in FA period" ? Just setting ppl up to bitch when we don't come away from FA with Tom Brady (Cleveland Radio will honestly bitch about shit like that). -
shook_17Safety gholdson wide out Wallace and Paul Kruger
-
BR1986FBAs an FYI, Dolphins franchised Randy Starks. Is that necessarily pertinent to the Browns? No, but it does say to me that Jake Long isn't "all that' in that a franchise LT should NEVER see the open market.
-
Commander of AwesomeYeah, Long was great there for a stretch, but can't stay healthy. Hard to pay huge LT money to a guy that can't stay on the field.

Would be an excellent FA, though I could not care less about Wallace. Diva WR who's name is bigger than his production IMO. Plus hate his ME (Ross Verba) attitude that he played with this season. BooHoo I don't want to get hurt mentality bc I want my payday. Don't like it, and and dont want to foolishly throw big money at him the way the skins did with Garcon.shook_17;1399684 wrote:Safety gholdson wide out Wallace and Paul Kruger -

BR1986FBI LOL'd when I saw Cleveland.com's predictions for free agent signings. In another typical Bleacher Report "fail", the Bleacher Report (who Cleveland.com was quoting) predicted the signing of Ted Ginn Jr because he was a "reliable veteran" WR option. Now they may very well sign Ginn but he's FAR from a "WR option" whether relaible, or not. Hell, I'd rather keep MoGlass (love that) than Ginn.
-
Commander of AwesomeLOL indeed.
I do think the Browns will kick the tires on Jared Cook TE from Tenn. -

1. I agree about not wanting to foolishly throw money at Wallace.Commander of Awesome;1399694 wrote: dont want to foolishly throw big money at him the way the skins did with Garcon.
2. Garcon could possibly end up being worth it if he stays healthy the rest of his contract and plays at a #1 level for RGIII which I think he can. -
Commander of AwesomeAdam Schefter ‏@AdamSchefter Notable UFAs not tagged: Ed Reed, Paul Kruger, Aqib Talib, William Moore, Brent Grimes, Cliff Avril, Sebastian Vollmer, Danny Amendola.
Would love to look at Kruger, and/or Talib. If we didn't already have RT situated I would also want Vollmer. He's a stud RT. -
BR1986FBPete Damilatis ‏ @ PFF_Pete Connor Barwin is being very candid about his FA desires on @ SiriusXMNFL right now. Already has said he wouldn't play for the Browns.
RosterWatch ‏ @ RosterWatch Connor Barwin just said on Sirius XM that he wouldn't want to play for the # Browns

Commander of AwesomeHe give any insight as to why?

He wants to win a super bowl. Said he'd love to go to New England. He all but laughed when asked about the Browns.Commander of Awesome;1400399 wrote:He give any insight as to why? -
Commander of AwesomeMoney talks, being a POS doesn't help. Also he's managed to stay healthy for an entire season once. He should STFU.
-
RotinajYea Barwin can GFH.

like_thatWell, prepare for a pile of shit product on the field for another 6 years. Somebody post the infamous shook quote.
ESPN Cleveland ‏@ESPNCleveland .@ProFootballTalk reports Mike Lombardi will have his title changed to GM by the Browns. Ray Farmer will be hired as assistant GM -
BR1986FBForgot to mention earlier the "lulz" I got last night driving home listening to Tim & Pat on Sirius XM. They have a caller who is a regular who they refer to as 'Adrian in the Burgh' who calls in frequently. Just goes to show you the lack of knowledge some of the simpletons in that "fan" base have.
First...he claims that losing Mike Wallace will be "devastating" to the Steelers because he's a "top 3 NFL receiver." (Better than Andre Johnson, Roddy White, Julio Jones, AJ Green (who supposedly pads his stats against the Browns) and is as good as Calvin Johnson)... Then he proceeds to say that the Steelers have a 'Super Bowl caliber roster." Tim Ryan ripped him to shreds saying that first, "there are probably 8-10 WR's better than Wallace" and second "the Steelers no longer have a Super Bowl caliber roster....they have a Super Bowl caliber QB but not the roster surrounding him."
"Adrian's" argument about Wallace was that the Steelers "never let players walk when they are in their prime and use them up and throw them away." Explain James Harrison & Polamalu? Can't stay healthy and are pretty much shells of their former self. Polamalu still gives some productivity but Harrison should've been put out to pasture.
This guy sounded like a total "yee haw" referring to the Browns at the "Hash Browns" and saying that the Browns were the "only team he wasn't worried about Wallace going to."
