LOL..that's valid reasoning. If you're going to claim they're better because Chud left, you have to have a reason for it.SportsAndLady;1558045 wrote:Because they were horrible last year and are division champs this year.
There ya go. -
Terry_TateChiefs from last year to this year and the Packers and Browns this year just show how important a good QB is. Hoyer never gets injured and the Browns are likely in the playoffs IMO. There isn't a coach in the league that would sniff the playoffs with Weeden and Jason Campbell at QB.

slingshot4everBrowns with more pro bowlers than team wins. Can anyone find out the last time that happened???

Agree. Given that Chud was OC, how did him leaving allow the defense to get so much better?se-alum;1558047 wrote:LOL..that's valid reasoning. If you're going to claim they're better because Chud left, you have to have a reason for it. -

I would assume last year with the chiefs.slingshot4ever;1558064 wrote:Browns with more pro bowlers than team wins. Can anyone find out the last time that happened???
Also Cam has been playing better since Chud left. He might not have flashy numbers but he is showing grit and finding ways to win games for his team. -
like_thatAlso, I just realized Brent Grimes made the pro bowl. Would have been nice if banner/lombardi were able to sign him. At least they were going after good talent.

You obviously didn't watch the panthers offense (more importantly cam) last year compared to this year.slingshot4ever;1558065 wrote:Agree. Given that Chud was OC, how did him leaving allow the defense to get so much better? -
MulvaCarolina's offense is worse this year. They're bottom 5 in the league in yards, and bottom half in points.
It's the defense that's been the big difference. They're the best scoring D in the league and #2 in yardage. I don't think that's really on Chud. -
like_thatOk I will give Chud a pass on Carolina, it still doesn't explain how he can't get more wins than shurmur with 5 pro bowlers. All this talk about no line, and we had 2 pro bowlers on the line. All this talk about no skills players and we had a WR and TE make it. We literally have more pro bowlers than most playoff teams. That's inexcusable.

Pick6Chud is fine. Light years ahead of Shurmur.

Pick6Has Vanderbilt ever beaten anybody they weren't supposed to beat? Franklin doesn't seem that impressive to me.

Vanderbilt is never supposed to beat anybody in the SEC, so yes.Pick6;1558189 wrote:Has Vanderbilt ever beaten anybody they weren't supposed to beat? Franklin doesn't seem that impressive to me. -

Pick6
I never said my opinion of Chud is that he is horrible. Cleveland logic is to have no patience with a guy. How many coaches have they gone through since they came back? What about quarterbacks? I would bet both categories are at or near tops in the league.SportsAndLady;1558196 wrote:Cleveland logic at it's finest.

Chud deserves credit for developing 3 players on the team into first time pro-bowlers, and took another back who hasn't been there since 2010. KC had what...7 (?) last season and only won one game. They got a serviceable QB and now look at them. It would be retarded to fire him after one season and same old Cleveland. -

I'm not saying they should fire him. I'm saying if they did, I wouldn't cry over it.Pick6;1558199 wrote:I never said my opinion of Chud is that he is horrible. Cleveland goes through QBs and coaches because they keep hiring shitty ones. It has nothing to do with patience. Impatient would be to fire him now, which they won't do.
There's more to a head coach than developing players, by the way. -
Pick6and a head coach isn't solely responsible for the result of games. I cant think of a time this season where Chud cost the team a fair chance at winning a game. Clock management, time out usage, play-calling, aggressiveness/risk taking never really seemed to be a problem, but my memory sucks.

When your team can't close games out, that is on coaching.Pick6;1558204 wrote:and a head coach isn't solely responsible for the result of games. I am with S&L, I am not calling for chud to be fired, but if they did I wouldn't QQ, especially if they got a better coach. Would anyone really QQ if the Browns fired chud for O'brien, gruden, lovie smith, etc?
I was never a fan of the chud hire. I wanted zimmer, and they could have hired him if they wanted. I think Haslam and Banner were butt hurt, because Zimmer give them a large slice of humble pie during his interview. -
Crimson streakI would definitely be ok with getting cutler next year. He would be a perfect fit for this offense and we could use our first to fill other holes and easily be a playoff team.

wes_mantoothNot giving chud a pass...but I have to laugh at people wanting him gone after one year....Jesus Christ.

wes_mantoothCutler is ok but a turnover machine....not someone that can get you deep in the playoffs. I just want them to play Hoyer and groom whatever guy they draft

Oh...it's not just people here, it's on all the boards and sports talk. I have a few issues with him too....like why are we always dumping timeouts early in each half?like_that;1558213 wrote:I didn't say I want him gone!!!!
Heard an interesting fact though....we have more passing yards and passing tds than new England...Lol. Doesn't mean shit, just thought it was funny -
DeyDurkie5
It's pretty simple really. We had receivers with awful, untimely drops. We had 3 QB's start a game this year. Our supposed number 1 went down with an ACL injury and Weeden literally depresses more than the holocaust. The New England game basically killed our mojo. How could the team play after that? The team played every game and a few more things go our way, we are looking at .500 and maybe in the playoffs.like_that;1558182 wrote:Ok I will give Chud a pass on Carolina, it still doesn't explain how he can't get more wins than shurmur with 5 pro bowlers. I'm not too concerned with Chud and this staff. A rational fan can see we have a great core of coaches, all we need to do is get them players that are actually going to do their job. We've blown leads in the 4th quarter this year an astonishing amount. Bess/Little need replaced, and we need some great cover linebackers along with a RB and WR. With 5 picks in the top 100, we should be able to fill a lot of those needs and next year will be a good indication of how Chud and this staff will do.
