If it's so obvious than why wasn't he worth more than a 4th and conditional 6th 3 years ago? He was already a Pro Bowler at that point.SportsAndLady;1537263 wrote:Lol I think almost every team would trade a first for Marshawn Lynch. -

He's stepped his game up immensely since being in Seattle.lhslep134;1537811 wrote:If it's so obvious than why wasn't he worth more than a 4th and conditional 6th 3 years ago? He was already a Pro Bowler at that point. -
wes_mantoothSome random thoughts from my trip to cincy....
The Stadium is flat out terrible, I was shocked. I have always thought the Browns stadium lacked amenities, but PBS is as about as bare bones as you will see. With that being said, they are much more organized and it is so much easier and painless to actually get through security and get into the stadium. I liked the open look of the inner stadium so it seemed uncrowded and easy to move around in.
The fans were absolutely great to us. They were great at the tailgate and all the way through the game...absolutely no problems around us.
The game....FML.
I really probably sound like a sore loser, but I give no credit to the Bengals. They showed up not ready to play and the Browns had a chance to bury them and fucked it all up. Dalton was terrible and the Browns didnt make them pay early on. That goal line pass on 3rd down was awful...Campbell sucked it up. The credit i will give the bengals is that they cashed in all the browns follies. It was a complete joke and Chud should have made them hitchhike back to Cleveland. Cincinnati has a nice defense, but they are never going to be a legitimate super bowl contender with Dalton at the helm....he is much worse than I originally thought. -

Immensely would seem to imply that he wasn't that good in Buffalo. That's not the case. You're talking about 4.0 ypc in BUF vs 4.4 in SEA.SportsAndLady;1537825 wrote:He's stepped his game up immensely since being in Seattle.
My point isn't that Lynch hasn't improved, my point is that his trade value hasn't suddenly gone from 4th and conditional 6th all the way up the 1st, especially 3 years later.
I don't think you're going to see teams drop a 1st for a running back who has maybe at most 2 more "elite" years left unless they're a unique situation where they have a stockpile of picks and are willing to part with one of the most valuable commodities in the league, a 1st rounder.
This is not meant to be condescending at all, because I'm only trying to root out the source of our disagreement: it seems to me, in this situation, you're not properly separating a player's skill level from their trade value, which takes into account so many factors besides just skill level. Lynch's skill >>>> his trade value. -

Probably true. I wouldn't trade a first for any RB so my argument isn't that I would trade a first for lynch. My argument is that I feel teams would make the trade more often than not. And I think his stock is wayyyy higher now than it was in buffalo. But if teams share the same philosophy as I do when it comes to trading a RB for a first rounder, than I am definitely wrong.lhslep134;1537924 wrote:Immensely would seem to imply that he wasn't that good in Buffalo. Gotcha. I think I feel the same way (if I was a GM, no chance in hell I'm trading a first for a running back)SportsAndLady;1537980 wrote: I wouldn't trade a first for any RB so my argument isn't that I would trade a first for lynch. sleeperI wouldn't trade a 1st for any RB in this league. I mean even as good as AP is, he's still been in the league 6 years?(7?) which is an eternity for a running back. I'm also in the boat as some as you that a top tier RB isn't what you need in the league anymore; its a top tier QB and an O-line.

Dr. KnOiTaLLThe big question I have is, where did Jordan Cameron disappear to? Remember when he was a threat in our offense? You know... back when we were winning games...

Did Campbell have open receivers, and just wasn't seeing them or did the Bengals secondary really cover that well. To me it seemed like Campbell was scared of a pass rush, that wasn't really a factor from the Bengals, but Campbell went to his checks very quickly.wes_mantooth;1537855 wrote:Some random thoughts from my trip to cincy....

Campbell doesn't look his way much, and teams are double covering him.Dr. KnOiTaLL;1538034 wrote:The big question I have is, where did Jordan Cameron disappear to? Remember when he was a threat in our offense? You know... back when we were winning games... -
wes_mantoothTo me it looked like there was plenty of opportunities

DeyDurkie5Campbell missed a WIDE OPEN Little and a WIDE OPEN Cameron on those red zone drives. It was pathetic to see in real time.
-
sportchamppsYou also have to remember when Lynch was traded he was tarnished good because of his arrests. He even lost his starting position in Buffalo for awhile so you can't argue he was the same player in buffalo as he is now.

You saw correctly. It seemed like he was scared to get hit and was just trying to dump the ball off as soon as he could. Didn't look like he was watching Gordon at all because he had Jones one on one a good amount of times and was killing him but Campbell never even looked his direction. It was pitiful.se-alum;1538048 wrote:Did Campbell have open receivers, and just wasn't seeing them or did the Bengals secondary really cover that well.
