2013 Cleveland Browns Thread: RIP Chud
-
se-alumI'm liking Khalil Mack more and more for the Browns. Dude is an animal who can rush and cover. Have a feeling he'll be off the board by the time the Browns pick though.
-
like_thatWho is going to start the Steelers thread. Let's not allow a steelers "fan" to start the thread. I think myself, coa, lhslep (although he had a good streak), and S&L are now off the board for starting threads. Anyone want to take a shot?

Pick6
He has broken the NCAA record for career forced fumbles 3 times tonight.se-alum;1539289 wrote:I'm liking Khalil Mack more and more for the Browns. Dude is an animal who can rush and cover. Have a feeling he'll be off the board by the time the Browns pick though. -
se-alumAlso, it would be awesome to see "Mack" on the back of a Browns jersey again.

Are you serious? If so, take a second, think about it, and lol at yourself. Then tell me you were kidding.se-alum;1539305 wrote:Also, it would be awesome to see "Mack" on the back of a Browns jersey again.
Thanks. -
Dr. KnOiTaLLI would volunteer to start a thread, but football has not been good to me this year. I'm trying to stay away from Ohio State as much as possible to keep their national championship hopes alive. I started watching the Browns last week after they were up 13-0. I'm sorry....

Commander of Awesome15. Cleveland Browns: -1.4 (24)
Stud: No tackle has a better pass blocking grade than Joe GOAThomas (+19.9). It doesn’t matter how much time the quarterback wants to throw, Thomas is intent on giving it to him.
Dud: Our site hasn’t forgotten the play of Oniel Cousins (-15.3) and nor should you. His replacement Shawn Lauvao has been better, but not by much (-12.4). It remains a problem area.
Summary: Consider us a little disappointed here. Mitchell Schwartz just hasn’t played as well as his rookie year, while John Greco has suffered a similar fate. So it is then that their two former first-round picks are pushing them as high up as they are, with Alex Mack putting himself in line for a bumper pay day at the end of the year.

BR1986FBKey words "pass blocking." Can't block the run for a lick and uses the "it's a passing league....running is irrelevant" cop out because his group can't run block. Bet he doesn't use that line if Adrian Peterson or Jamaal Charles is in their backfield.

Why do you even say this?BR1986FB;1539688 wrote:Key words "pass blocking." Can't block the run for a lick and uses the "it's a passing league....running is irrelevant" cop out because his group can't run block. Bet he doesn't use that line if Adrian Peterson or Jamaal Charles is in their backfield.
Hey, national media people are giving our guy a compliment, let's dissect it and bring negative light to the player instead.

BR1986FB
Not dissecting it at all. I've already stated, on numerous occasions, that JT is an "elite" pass blocker. Best in the game, in fact. He's just not a very good run blocker and when asked about running the ball, his excuse was that running the ball was "irrelevant."SportsAndLady;1539694 wrote:Why do you even say this?

Now I know that it's a pass dominated league but you have to be able to run some to keep defenses honest. I doubt he makes a comment about running the ball being irrelevant if he had a stud RB and they were still having difficulty running the ball. -

But why bring it up there? You took an article saying he was flawless in pass blocking and brought up how poor he is in run blocking.BR1986FB;1539702 wrote:Not dissecting it at all. I think we all agree his run blocking isn't great. So why bring it up when the article states how well his pass blocking is? -
Commander of Awesome
I dont agree to that. He's still above average in run blocking, BR just has a thing against Joe GOAThomas bc he's not Orlando Pace or some Cincy oline that no one GAF about that sells furniture in commercials.SportsAndLady;1539757 wrote:But why bring it up there? ZOMG the run blocking!!! GAHHHHHH -

I don't have anything personal against JT. I just think that some people hold him in MUCH higher regard than he deserves to be for his overall skills. Exceptional pass blocker, mediocre run blocker.Commander of Awesome;1539761 wrote:I dont agree to that. 1. Joe Thomas, Browns, 8-15-32: Thomas makes it look easy vs. speed rushers and power rushers. He has been blocking most of his career for inexperienced quarterbacks and for an offense that is playing catch up week in and week out. The Browns running game had most of its explosive plays to Thomas's left side.BR1986FB;1539766 wrote:I don't have anything personal against JT. oh? -
Commander of AwesomeLeft tackle Joe Thomas
One thing to note before talking about Thomas -- I haven't seen much of him specifically involved as a run blocker. In fact, the only time I saw him in a running play against the Seahawks was on a third-and-9 with five minutes gone in the first quarter. Seahawks middle linebacker Lofa Tatupu broke through the right side on a blitz, Anderson had to run left, and there was Thomas, blocking defensive tackle Rocky Bernard as if the play had been going his way the whole time. When Seattle left tackle Walter Jones was at his best in 2005, one of his few weaknesses was a tendency to give up on plays that went to the right side, leaving him vulnerable to backside rushers on a reversed field. There's none of that with Thomas -- this is a man trained to finish his blocks at all times.
Ohh? -
DeyDurkie5Come on BR..not JT. That's just silly.

His run blockingn isn't elite is all I am saying. Br seems to think it's not even good, and makes sure he tells us every chance he can, even when there is positive news about Thomas.Commander of Awesome;1539761 wrote:I dont agree to that. Just keep it in perspective, you're starting to sound like classless poster and the tigers.BR1986FB;1539797 wrote:Just trying to keep people who think he's the greatest thing walking the planet in check. -

How so? He would say the Tigers can "do no wrong" where I'm saying JT is far from perfect, like some seem to think.Commander of Awesome;1539806 wrote:Just keep it in perspective, you're starting to sound like classless poster and the tigers. -

Just a broken record, bringing up his run blocking (which I dont agree with your assessment) any time his name is brought up. You're talking about our best player, and the best player at his position in the league. Just don't understand the bashing.BR1986FB;1539811 wrote:How so? Kind of like a broken record constantly posting links to positive comments made about his pass blocking?Commander of Awesome;1539817 wrote:Just a broken record, bringing up his run blocking (which I dont agree with your assessment) any time his name is brought up. If you find a negative article about Joe Thomas, feel free to post it. I would if they existed.BR1986FB;1539823 wrote:Kind of like a broken record constantly posting links to positive comments made about his pass blocking? -

This is a fucking browns thread br. If an article is out there giving a browns player props, it's going to be posted.BR1986FB;1539823 wrote:Kind of like a broken record constantly posting links to positive comments made about his pass blocking?
You really feel the need to bring up Thomas' run blocking every time his pass blocking is brought up? To keep them in check? Lol -
BR1986FBAnother reason I give him shit about his run blocking is that IF this team could run the god damn ball they might have a little success. Jason Campbell throwing the ball 56 times is NOT going to win you games. When you have 1st & goal from the two and can't punch it in with the run, you have a problem. Regardless of all of the JT "chest pounding" around here, he's part of that problem.
