2013 Cleveland Browns Thread: RIP Chud

He was targeted 19 times because they threw the ball 54 times and he is that fucking good. Were they showcasing Cameron too? I won't surprised if it happens, but if it happens we better get a haul for him. Its a terrible trade if he keeps his nose clean, but it will look genius the next time he "accidentally" takes purple drank.

This is the shit that annoys me. The Trich trade makes sense to me, but if they go and start trading off major pieces just because they aren't "their guys" its going to piss people off pretty quick.

He's not in favor of the trich trade.
I don't think the Browns will be drafting that high nor the Colts that low.

19 times or not, the "purple drank" comment is the reason that they might move him. I'm sure they weren't showcasing Cameron because not only is he a major talent but he also keeps his nose clean. The same can't be said about Gordon. He is both an asset and a liability at the same time.

Which is exactly why they won't trade him. They're smart guys and smart guys don't just trade valuable pieces away just because they were there before they were there.

All this talk about trading Gordon is so stupid. Trades usually don't happen when there are rumors about it. I'm sure banner said something tongue in cheek about everyone not being safe, someone asked about Gordon and he said yes Gordon too. Probably even said they were taking offers for him. It's all bullshit. You don't show your cards to the table before making a move.

It's all just speculation, don't listen to it.

Trading Gordon for anything less than a high 1st and another pick (2nd or 3rd) would be pretty stupid on the Browns part. The guy showed sunday that he is a premier number 1. And those don't come along every day. Not to mention, they don't have much at that position to begin with. You don't trade those away for peanuts. (2nd round or lower)

And that's why I said "if" it were to happen, they'd want a 1st for him and I'm skeptical that a team would offer that considering his baggage. New England might but they'd have to sweeten the deal due to their 1st likely being a high 20's pick.

And this brings up another point. Gordon knows he's got baggage and is being watched closely. IMO It's totally up to him whether or not he remains a Brown. He's already proven his worth on the field. He now has to prove his credibility off the field. If the FO is smart, they play the wait and see game. It would be crazy to pull the trigger on a trade (because you're afraid of what he might do) and watch him go on to be a all pro for another team.

Just read this about the Viking's game:
According to the NFL, Lanning is the first player since Philadelphia's Sam Baker in 1968 to have a punt, an extra point and a touchdown pass in the same game.

Hes already been caught once with known baggage. The only reason he came into the league when he did was because of this known baggage, yet he still managed to fuck up in the NFL. I hope he cleans up, but what makes you think because its his last chance he will clean up?

Comes as no surprise. Even before Nate Burleson got in his pizza accident this morning I'd heard the three teams that could have serious interest in Gordon were the Patriots (obvious), Lions & Chargers.

Id be pissed off if they trade Gordon. Really would. But if they do it better be a 1st and a 2nd.

    everybody has a price

I'd offer Gordon to Oakland for a first rounder. They might be dumb enough to do it, and it would net us a high pick. I'm not a big fan of trading Gordon, but if they do they better get a hell of a deal.

Thoughts? Who's the Texas WR and why are we taking him over god's gift to the WR position, Lee from USC. (least that's what draftniks had us thinking last season).

Evans is pretty damn good. Great size.

Do want Mike Evans. Only played 1 season of football in high school. Already a monster.

I'd rather stick with Hoyer than draft Manziel. Don't think we'll pick clear down at 10 anyhow. Evans from TAMU is a beast though.
  • shook_17
Manziel to Evans for the Browns touchdown! :)
  • Automatik
Everyone went gaga over Evans after the Bama game. He's a beast and has the body of an NFL receiver for sure.

Lions want Greg Little for a 5th rd pick. They also want Gordon for a 1st and a 3rd
  • se-alum
Would definitely give up Little for a 5th.

realcavsfans.com ‏@realcavsfans 6m I'd trade Greg Little for a 5th round pick in the NBA draft.

Lions offense would be nuts with Megatron, Gordon, and Bush. So explosive.
