2013 Cleveland Browns Thread: RIP Chud

I understand Banner is the shot caller, I just don't see how they could bail on him right NOW. I don't understand the motive to make that move this early in the season. Fuck, he's not even getting that many carries and the Oline sucks.

The Colts have a need right now. Never going to be able to sell him any higher.

Fans appear to be more pissed because we were told last year was an evaluation year, and this year they would start being a little more competitive.

Now those 4-5 win seasons will feel like Playoff years, and we are tearing it all down again.

Can anyone else think of another city that has consecutive regimes waste the 1st year or 2 of a rebuild "evaluating" before deciding to tear it down for another multi-year rebuild?

Next year will be Joe Banners 3rd season here and he will just be starting his rebuild.

Did he learn nothing from the Holmgren experience about how quickly fans turn on you when they realize you wasted their time instead of taking decisive action from the get go?

BREAKING: Trent Richardson traded to the colts for an iPhone with iOS 7 fully downloaded.

Banner wasn't hired until the middle of October last year. He didn't have a chance to do any rebuilding before this past offseason.

Adam Caplan ‏@caplannfl 16m Some execs feel that if Banner could trade WR Josh Gordon, he'll do it by the trading deadline of 10/29.

I am SO glad I gave up my Browns season tickets. New ownership, management, and coaches. Same old crap. The rebuilding never ends. I am done.

Banner has been Haslam's right hand man since before he bought the team and advised him through the process. I didn't realize they waited until October to make it official that Banner was in charge.

Iggy is going off right now. It's hilarious.

I wonder what it would take to get cousins from Washington?

    Just. Stop.

Larry Curlimo ‏@WahooCLE 1m @LullOnSports Trent was ranked no.40 in the league in yards per carry last year. Just sayin.

"Teddy to Sammy" has a great ring to it.

I get the argument, but I guess I just don't like what this tells the fans for THIS year. They are in full on tank mode when you trade your high first round pick from a year ago.

yeah im in the same boat. it is probably a good move for the future, but basically no other game is worth watching this year.
  • wes_mantooth
In reality, it seems like the line is so bad and Chud is hell bent on throwing the ball 100 times a game, so it probably isn't an awful move. But to the general fan, it sucks.

COA whats your beef with Cousins?

Can't speak for COA, but my beef is....did you ever watch him at MSU?...lol

I realized he lit us up, but he is a poor decision maker so I wouldn't want him at all.
  • se-alum
I have zero problems with the trade. The team wasn't going to do anything this year anyway.

I thought he was going to be horrible in the NFL. But he's looked pretty good in his limited appearances (preseason and reg. season).

Im just really excited to have 8 season tickets. Ive only been to one game and our starting RB has been traded, Weeden is DONE and our front office is in all out tank mode.

It will be interesting to see who is next. Gordon wouldn't surprise me one bit. Or even Haden? God knows he won't resign here.

Bridgewater to Evans from A&M? If he is even old enough.
  • Mulva
Evans is a redshirt sophomore. He can go pro. And that would be amazing.
