Just amazing. Congrats to him. Best in the game.

I get him wanting to stay loyal but damn hed be a 20 game winner regularly if he had a semi competent offense.

His 4th complete game shutout in past 10 starts. Such a beast.
  • Mulva
Although a perfect game against a Derek Shelton offense does diminish my respect for it.

    Atlanta Braves

    Hamilton just mashed a homer.

Good debate on MLB network. In a 1-0 game of a perfecto.. Is bunting for a hit ok?

I say yes. You play to win the game!

Bunting for a hit is okay in a 10-0 perfecto.

Ehh I dont really care if someone bunts at any time during a PG. But I can see why it would be frowned upon in anything more than a 3 or so run game.

Bizarrely, the Pirates don't. Considering how streaky their offense is and how often they're utterly inept at the plate, it is a minor miracle they've not been no-hit or anything in the last couple years.

Adam Dunn has hit his 400th career home run.

Um, calling it a little early? Lol

    We'll see. What's amazing is he's only 32. 400, 500, 600, 700?

The guy may go down as one of the best pure power hitters ever. I mean if he's given 600 at-bats a year and allowed to hit .200 with 200+ K's, you gotta imagine he's got at least 5-7 years left.
  • Rotinaj
I think he gets around 540.
  • Ironman92
All his homers come with a 4 or more run lead.

4 players in MLB history have had a .300 average, 10 HR, 50 rbi season after they turned 40. Name them.

    Chipper

    Guessing....Molitor, Bonds, Winfield and Brett.
  • Ironman92
Guessed 1 extra but impossible question for 2 minutes of thought.
  • karen lotz
Chipper isn't one of them. Has to keep average up.
  • karen lotz
    You have one correct
  • Ironman92
Bonds was way over everything in 2004 but he was 39 until July 24th....from there on (age 40) he was at .365, way over 10 HR and 46 RBI ....so close

Brett and Winfield fell short on average.

Other guesses? Ted Williams? Hank? Carlton Fisk?
  • karen lotz
    Two correct
  • Ironman92
Let's keep throwing out guys who played into their 40's....the average is probably short on....Harold Baines, Jim Thome....Rickey? Moises Alou?
