Scherzer is 2nd in the MLB in K's this season but a terrible start to the season makes his numbers look horrible. And hey anyone who's hitting close to .300 is a solid bat

Lol ok he is 2nd in strike outs, who cares he has an era of 4.72. Fister hasn't been too bad and porcello is trash

Yeah, the Yankees really roughed him up last night didn't they?

So he had 1 ok game so that makes him good? He went 6 innings and have us 3 runs. It's a solid start but nothing great about it. He has an era above 4.50. I dk but to me anything over 4 sucks

The Tigers as a team are 6th in the AL in ERA. Pretty good then since everybody but Verlander sucks.

Take out verlander and the relievers and there going to be around 12-15 in the al

Highest era of the 5 starters is Scherzer's 4.72. I bet you won't find many teams with 5 starters below that.

But yet 3 out of the 5 starters are above 4.50. So like I said outside of verlander and maybe fister Detroit's pitching is not good. There pitching is the reason they struggled like they did in the beginning of the year

6th out of 14 is nothing special. Verlander is amazing and the rest are no better than slightly above average.

Right off the top of my head I know that the Reds' starters are all below 4.51

    It's not that impressive

Off the top of your head you knew the highest starter's ERA was exactly 4.51? You must be an idiot savant.

Sure I did. I follow them pretty closely, so it's pretty easy to remember the highest ERA when all 5 starters have started every game this season.

And the Pirates' worst is 4.53. Unless you count Charlie Morton, who's at 4.65, but hasn't pitched in a couple months and is out the rest of the year.

So either the Pirates and Reds are amazing or that 4.72 isn't THAT awesome for a #5.

That 4.72 is actually suppose to be their 3 rd starter but the point remains that it's not impressive

In a couple year span when top guys are going sub 3.00, dont tell me an ERA near 5 is good lol. That is horrible.

That puts Scherzer at 81st in the MLB in ERA, among those who have enough innings to qualify.

Exactly. Pittsburgh's guy with the 4.51 is Eric Bedard. Who is tied for the MLB lead in losses with 12. Despite being on one of the best teams in baseball so far. So, 4.72 doesn't impress me in a "our worst ERA starter is still good" fashion or any other.

The Machado kid hit 2 homers tonight for Baltimore. Can't believe they're hanging in the race still.

Freddie Freeman just hit a bomb over the apple in dead center at citi field.
