BR1986FBWith the stripes on those uniforms I can see the "Big Ben/jailbird" jokes coming. Didn't really think of that until a buddy, who is a Pittsburgh native and Steeler fan, brought it up.

Didnt think of that but yeah, you are right. His replacement was the one responsible for the game losing TD, but throughout the game he did a very good job and who knows if the steelers even woulda got into OT without those plays.killer_ewok;1146865 wrote:Also, remember....no Ryan Clark for the opener. That won't help vs. Manning.
That loss against Denver was as much on LeBeau as it was the players. The stubbornness to keep playing that press defense lead to the big plays. Dont get me wrong, I and every other steeler fan loved it early in the game when the defense was just mauling the denver offense but man, the broncos are professional's too. It is very difficult to consistantly play that style in the NFL because you opponants will take advantage of it. That scheme was like a HS game when one team is by far the most superior and can do whatever they want, whenever they want.
but anyways.......matching up vs the NFC east is always tough. I think washington will be much better, with dallas, nyg and philly all having the ability to make deep runs into the postseason. I think the last time we were matched up against them we did quite well tho......... -

I knew you could put more thought into it than "lol."
At least I was pretty sure.
7-9 or 8-8....that's a 3rd place finish in the AFC North. Ravens and Bengals would have to be 1st and 2nd then. -

Agree with both of you. ZERO respect for Tebow's ability to throw the ball. I mean, he's a pretty bad passer but he's not fucking retarded. -

Sure is, toughest division in football IMO.killer_ewok;1146880 wrote:I knew you could put more thought into it than "lol."

and to this day I just dont understand why they kept going with that defense. It wasnt like that was a defense they used alot in the season. Maybe against an inept offense on a bad weather day when throwing would be difficult.Gblock;1146878 wrote:+1...coaching and bad strategy lost us that game we totally underestimated tebow
That front 7 was MORE than capable in stopping the run from their normal sets. They have done it for years. There was no reason to sell out against stopping the run like they did.
Doesnt matter......I think they get drilled the next week at NE with all the injuries suffered against Den -

Agreed. Had 3 teams make the playoffs last year. -

Yep. Exactly.killer_ewok;1146881 wrote:Agree with both of you. ZERO respect for Tebow's ability to throw the ball. I mean, he's a pretty bad passer but he's not ****ing retarded.
Tebow, at this point in his career, is a pretty awful throwing QB but he is still a professional QB. Any NFL QB should be able to hit some big passes against that defense. Ya dont even have to do it a very high percentage because they are gonna go for a big gain. It would be like a pitcher consistantly throwing a FB right down broadway to the worst hitter in MLB......even the worst is gonna slap it around at times, or like leaving the worst 3PT shooter in the NBA wide open all game to shoot 3's......he is a pro.....he WILL make some! -
killer_ewokLOL. We've become a topic of conversation on the Cleveland thread for making ::gasp:: predictions.
That's too bad. Them fighting amongst themselves yesterday was far more entertaining.
Also, only 6,000+ more posts needed on this thread and then we'll be true fans. If we start fighting with each other now...we should get there in no time! -
Commander of Awesome^ LOL.

THE4RINGZThey aren't fighting amogst themselves over on the browns thread, they are debating the perfect draft choice for the team. When you have as many needs as they do, it would take a miracle to fuck up two picks in the first round.

I think the discussion is more intense when you're drafting that high (yearly) because it's critical not to screw those picks up. It can set a franchise back even further. -
THE4RINGZI get the pressure, but any first round draft pick improves that team the way it sits right now. I am not being critical of the team or its fans, but there is so much hype around their first pick. Just take the best available and fill in after that.

Just create an alt account and start talking about Colt McCoy's ability to lead a team down the field. That'll give them another quick 1000 when they all start screaming.killer_ewok;1146896 wrote:LOL. We've become a topic of conversation on the Cleveland thread for making ::gasp:: predictions.

Pretty much. Also, argue over mock drafts....that works too.
But say what you will....if we improve win totals from last year....we will be a smarter fan base. That is a scientific fact. -

That's one thing that worries me. If CoA's prediction is right and we fall to 7-9, my intelligence will really fucking decrease. I'll go from typing like this, with pretty good grammar and stuff, to beeing liek thiss wif miah wurds liek thinthickbeegrad aand tiieping liek a weetard.wes_mantooth;1146967 wrote:Pretty much.
