2012 Pittsburgh Steelers Offseason Thread. Gone Fishin

thavoiceEh. Ben gets hurt, and plays. It happens...he probabaly talks about it too much, I agree.
At least ESPN isnt reporting from there live all the time like at Jets camp. -

Very debatable. Wallace is a big play guy and definitely one of the fastest guys in the league. However, overall, AB brings more to the table. More versatile. Has made big, clutch plays in the postseason and didn't fall off like the plague in the second half of the season last year.
Agree with BR about Ben. He does have a reputation as a bit of a drama queen in the 'Burgh. Even the Pittsburgh media talks about it from time to time. That being said, as BR also pointed out...he's still tough. IMO, he's the toughest QB in the league when it comes to playing/battling thru injuries. -
Raw Dawgin' itOnly in pittsburgh

killer_ewokA friend of mine who is a Cleveland Browns fan just tweeted this....
"#Browns just sold for a billion...Wow. The dollar must really not be worth anything anymore."
LOL -
killer_ewok@BuzzsawPGH: A day after leaving practice w/Tomlin said was "heat-related illness" Chris Rainey was spotted on campus w/his left shoulder heavily wrapped
Shit. Had been hearing good things about Rainey too. -

We can laugh all we want, but it woulda been better off if the Lerner's kept the team. Now we can expect them to rise up once again and be a power in the AFC North, and start beating the steelers.killer_ewok;1239009 wrote:A friend of mine who is a Cleveland Browns fan just tweeted this....

Do I think they are getting better? I *think* they are. They've got a lot to prove before I go as far as you did though. -

You obviously haven't caught on to thavoice's game yet. He keeps throwing out the "Browns are championship bound" type stuff as reverse psychology in hopes they'll keep flailing miserably. Eventually it's going to backfire on him and I tend to think it's going to be sooner than later.killer_ewok;1239105 wrote:Do I think they are getting better? I *think* they are. Just the law of averages says they will soon be good. SOoner or later, with all their picks they get, they will get an ownership group that knows wth is going on and start getting right guys.killer_ewok;1239105 wrote:Do I think they are getting better? Their karma is bad, and it will change with new owners. -

On one hand I would like to see the rivalry pick up some steam again against a decent Cleveland team that occasionally challenges for the division/wild card. But then again I enjoy watching them lose every year too so either way I won't be too upset. -
Heretic
But if you pay attention to baseball on the Reds threads, he's been pretty consistent with how they're just about ready to slump, go into a tailspin and drop out of everything. And they keep winning.BR1986FB;1239107 wrote:You obviously haven't caught on to thavoice's game yet. So he might have the Midas Touch of Reverse Jinxing. -
thavoiceYeah....I would rather them stay down, but they wont!
How are they doing training camp now wiht the new rules and such? Didnt they do away with the traditional two-a-days? Used to be one was open, the other closed.
Went a few years ago and it was a decent time and just wondered how it works now. -
killer_ewok@mikebires: David decastro & mike adams starting on offensive line for the steelers vs. Philly
-
killer_ewokSteelers-Eagles about to kickoff on KDKA.
-
killer_ewokDavid Johnson went down with what appears to be a serious knee injury. Damn. He has a bigger role in this Haley offense. Not good.
-
BR1986FBMike Adams got beaten like a drum on the one sack. Looks very strange watching this shorter, ball control passing game.
-
killer_ewokMcLendon is gonna emerge this season. Nice play there.
-
killer_ewokNice run by Dwyer.
Right knee injury confirmed for David Johnson. -
killer_ewokChris Rainey is fast as shit. Dwyer with a big run. Rushing attack looks pretty good.
-
killer_ewokLeftwich to Sanders for the TD. 10-0

Nice 1 2 punch with Deter/Redmond and Rainey. Nice to see the ground game working. -
killer_ewokRainey looks like he can be quite the weapon in this offense.

I like the new play calling too.killer_ewok;1243598 wrote:Rainey looks like he can be quite the weapon in this offense. -
killer_ewokFB/TE David Johnson has a torn ACL. So he's done for the year. Mike Adams suffered an injury to his right knee but the severity of that hasn't been reported yet from what I can see.
That really sucks for Johnson and IMO he won't be easily replaced. Hope Adams isn't seriously injured. He looked bad out there last night though. Still, you have to think he'll get better and at the very least he would provide some depth on the o-line.
