smh that is rough to read. #1 and #2 pretty much sums up why there has been so much turnover in the roster the past 2 seasons, and why the Browns have many holes to still fill.BR1986FB;1065172 wrote:COA's gonna LOVE #1....

4.4 is speedy and a 4.5 is not ,ok NFA. I care more about whether they can catch the dang gone ball.BR1986FB;1065166 wrote:Notice Blackmon is NOT considered "speedy"....

They need a burner to pose a deep threat. If you have a bunch of 4.5/4.6 guys that can't stretch the field, your offense is limited. They already have PLENTY of those guys.Skyhook79;1065252 wrote:4.4 is speedy and a 4.5 is not ,ok NFA. I care more about whether they can catch the dang gone ball.
Whether it's offense OR defense, this team needs SPEED. I think they are the slowest, least athletic team in the league. -

Who does NE have that has ever stretched the field for them? They have a bunch of guys who catch the ball. The problem is the Browns do not have anyone who can throw the ball.BR1986FB;1065257 wrote:They need a burner to pose a deep threat. Had Randy Moss.Skyhook79;1065267 wrote:Who does NE have that has ever stretched the field for them? They have a bunch of guys who catch the ball. The problem is the Browns do not have anyone who can throw the ball.
Agree with your last point. -

Didn't win any of their Super Bowls with Moss though...BR1986FB;1065272 wrote:Had Randy Moss.

Mike Sherman having his second interview with the Bucs today, sounds like he is a serious candidate now that Chip Kelly went back to Oregon.
Looks like Chilly could be the man as offensive coordinator here is Sherman goes to Tampa.
I wonder if Holmgren will call the Old Gun Slinger and ask him about Chilly's qualifications as far as calling plays in the West Coast System. -

You watch, they will "promote" Whipple from within to be the OC. After yesterday's Prince Fielder deal I'm waiting for the second shoe to drop on Cleveland sports.IggyPride00;1065313 wrote:http://tracking.si.com/2012/01/25/mike-sherman-to-have-second-interview-with-buccaneers-today/?sct=hp_t2_a9&eref=sihp

I thought I had heard they have soured on him after the poor year McCoy had considering he showed no real improvement.BR1986FB;1065330 wrote:You watch, they will "promote" Whipple from within to be the OC. Can you really promote from within on a staff that was responsible for one of the worst offenses in NFL history?
Sherman was really the homerun as far as an OC would go. He had a really good run with the Packers as head coach, and would bring some respectability to that side of the ball as he at least has a proven track record of success in the league. -

As long as they're a Lamonte client they can.IggyPride00;1065342 wrote: Can you really promote from within on a staff that was responsible for one of the worst offenses in NFL history? -
BTrevPats had Deion Branch... who was a legit deep threat, when he was in his prime.
David Givens was a great compliment, and Troy Brown was a great slot WR. Neither could be called speedy though.
Didn't Heckert have a say in the decision to draft McNabb? Or was that before he got there?
I'm intrigued by the thought of taking Blackmon and Weeden... RG3 and Jeffery/Adams/Wright is the sexier move though.
What does everyone think of Kendall Wright? He could be an option at #22, if they're looking for a WR at that spot, and Alshon Jeffery is off the board. -
BR1986FBMcNabb was pre-Heckert.
I like Kendall Wright. Gets a lot of comparisons to Mike Wallace and lord knows they NEED speed. -

Wait...were Indians fans expecting dolan to sign fielder? -

Wright will probably be the 2nd WR taken, so I can't see him being there at #22. I'd rather go after Garcon in FA, and get Sanu with the first pick of the 2nd round. Use the 2nd first rounder for a DE/LB. This is assuming they go after RGIII with their first pick.BTrev;1065352 wrote:Pats had Deion Branch... who was a legit deep threat, when he was in his prime.

I agree, speed has worked great for the Raiders. We need WR's that can creat separation and catch the damn ball.BR1986FB;1065356 wrote:McNabb was pre-Heckert.

I'm saying, imo, speed is overrated. Give me a guy that runs sharp routes and can catch the ball over a speed guy w/ average hands. You can get deep routes with your scheme and good route running. Guys like Rice and TO weren't what would be considered fast, but they caught plenty of deep balls. Speed is pretty far down the list when I'm looking for a #1 WR.BR1986FB;1065365 wrote:Ummm...that's assumed. Did I say "hey, let's get a bunch of guys who can run 4.2's with stubs for arms?" -

The whole receiving corps doesn't need to be blazing but you do need one. A bunch of 4.5/4.6 guys like Blackmon/Little/Cribbs/MoMass will limit the offense.se-alum;1065371 wrote:I'm saying, imo, speed is overrated.
