Lol, yeah I haven't been on here today.

Anyhow, I will just say what I said on Facebook....

He would be a good mentor to a young qb for a year. He is well liked and respected. But he would be a one year stop gap....just to hand the reins over to the browns future franchise qb.

Also, he is dynamic at running the West coast offense

I don't really want to waste a pick on a "developmental QB". That would be my issue more than Hasselbeck.

Not when he's looking over his shoulder 24/7 because you're ignoring the restraining order.

Lol...I am not going to lie....a hasselbeck browns Jersey would be my most amazing possession.

I'm warming up to the idea of taking RG3. I think a good player to compare him to is Donavan McNabb.

I'd be ok with it... as long as they can stay put at #4 and get him.

RG3 at #4. Alshon Jeffery at #22. Mike Adams at #37. RB at #68... maybe Isaiah Pead. LB, CB, or DE in the 4th. They can get 2 out of 3. Get the other in the 5th.

    That could work.

We'll have to see what happens this week, and at the combine.

    Unfortunately I think Jeffery & Adams are gone by 22 & 37.

    No thanks on Weeden.

Actually hearing they are pretty enamored with him.

If Weeden were 5-6 years younger I don't think a lot of people are having this conversation. I think he'd be in the mix with Luck & RG3 for a top 10 QB. Has all the tools but the age scares many.

Love his film. He is 6'4" 218 w/ a strong arm. But, if you take him you better hope he is ready to play at a high level pretty quickly. He has what, probably 8 years at most of football left in him?

Very good point and I neglected to mention that. Weeden doesn't have the luxury of having time to be groomed. He needs to "get it" right out of the chute. No Aaron Rodgers "sit & learn" for him.

Yeah, Weeden is not coming to the Browns. He will be 29 by week 5 next season. I can see a current contender taking him on as a backup though (i.e. texans).
  • Commander of Awesome
I would be pissed if we drafted him. I think if the Browns miss out on RG3 or bringing in a guy like Kolb or Flynn I would think we'd go all in for Foles.
  • se-alum
Yeah, no thanks on Chris Wein.....Brandon Weeden.

I'd be perfectly ok with this. Mike Adams started his career off slowly in Columbus but has shown consistent improvement each year. The guy definitely passes the eye test and has the physical abilities to be a good tackle in this league, plus an injection of youth at RT is sorely needed. Do they see if he's available in the 2nd or would it take the 22nd pick to get him in the 1st?

Br, what are your thoughts since you are typically anti-Buckeye?

I agree. I think that is the role that best suits him. Perhaps New Orleans would take a shot at him as a solid backup to Brees.

Mike Adams was inconsistent as hell in Columbus. Something is missing between the ears IMO.

What is with the "typically anti-Buckeye" shit? Just because I'm not all over the nuts of mediocre Buckeye players (Troy Smith, AJ Hawk, Barbie Carpenter) doesn't mean I hate them.

I've previously said that OSU consistently produces good players at certain positions (O-Line, DB).

If you look back in threads I've been pimping Mike Adams as a potential target along with a couple others for the Browns at RT.

A good coach maybe? He was a top 5 player in the country coming out of high school and dominated combines.

This was true his first two years, but the last two he has lived up to his billing. Not to mention he was playing LT for OSU and would be a RT for the Browns.

Not true the last 2 years.

Also, there are reports from the Senior Bowl that some scouts have Adams as a top 15 talent, which would make it virtually impossible for the Browns to get him.

I disagree. He had mental lapses in games that would leave me scratching my head. Not sure what player/games you guys were watching. He was a good player for the Bucks but did not live up to his talent/potential. I will say he had a better senior year, esp after the the suspension, but still isn't a top 15 player. Not even close. After the season was over there were questions on wheter he was a 2nd round pick. Tells you all you need to know about the LT prospect.
