Looks like another one of those "coach leaves town one step ahead of NCAA investigators" stories. You know, like "why in the world would Pete Carroll leave USC, where he was king of the state?" all over again. Let's say Kelly decides it's time for him to give the NFL a try. I wonder if Goodell would suspend Kelly if it is determined that Oregon was cheating. We all know he set the precedent.
Was Caroll suspended? Cannot remember. Even though Goodell was a douche and suspended Pryor.
  • SportsAndLady
Carroll wasn't suspended...no way goodell suspends Kelly if he comes to the NFL.

Because Roger Goodell is known for his consistency in punishment

Fake Pat Shurmur ‏@FakePatShurmur So Tim Tebow wants out of New York? And Josh McDaniels might become a head coach again? Well, how about that....... #OnlyInCleveland

Kelly coming to the NFL is a great story for the NFL. Goodell doesn't do the things he does to prevent a good thing from happening. He does the things he does because he knows the person has no other option.

He suspends Kelly, Kelly won't come. He can suspend Jerome Harrison, because what else is he gonna do?
  • Midstate01
Kelly will come to the nfl. Try to run a no huddle attack and Rodger will ban it for safety reasons. Heard it here first. Lol

I am sure people like IGGY would QQ, but I would take Chance Warmack.

Wow, ZERO running backs in this draft

Te'o at 17, first LB off the board. That's a shame, because I really want them to get a monster in the LB group but there just don't seem to be any in this draft.

I'd be fine with a CB, G, or QB w/ the first pick.

I think our group of LBers will be fine, especially with Gocong returning. Whether they get a G or CB with the first pick, I hope the sign a FA to fill the other need, since we don't have a 2nd.

In this draft, I'd so much rather have a late first and a second..than a top 10 pick and no second.

I'm leaning, right now, towards taking Tyler Wilson. Have him sit behind Weeden for a year, maybe two, and when Weeden needs to cash his IRA in 2014, Wilson will be ready.

He does not impress me at all, also is a walking concussion waiting to happen. Not worth a first rd pick to replace Weeden. None of the QBs really are. I'd much rather fill the guard spot, and let Trent run wild (cue mulva QQing about Trent). Or draft a CB/Safety. Both huge needs for the team. Another legit guy in the secondary will make the defense TOUGH.

I'd be on board with that. I'm not saying QB is the only option. Just that if they do decide to take a QB to groom him, I feel like most Browns fans should be perfectly fine with that. Lets face it, Weeden won't be around much longer. Than what? We're not going to be picking in the top 5 to take a Luck, RG3 type QB.

If we get an awesome team around a rookie QB, we'll be the Jets.

^Most will say "i'll take back to back afc title game appearances"

I just don't feel like building your team for a ceiling that isn't Super Bowl winners is stupid.

I agree with like_that. Wilson can GTFO, this is a weakkkkk QB class. Everyone knows how much of a man crush I had on DeCastro last season, so obviously would love to get a pwn guard. We could draft D/O line in the first round every year and I'd be happy though. Also we def need a safety/CB. I'm not a huge Ward fan myself (always seems to be hurt, and SUCKS absolutely sucks in coverage). I think we need to replace both, but def FS. Young/Hagg is a joke.

If we take wilson and groom him, assuming we get good coaching in here that knows how to do that, we'd almost assuredly be in a better position long term than if we upgraded our guard position and continue to ignore the QB position.

    My opinion of course.

He's your answer to the QB problem? We'll have the same issue next season. Its like Carolina selecting Jimmy Clausen to "groom". Next season they took Newton. I dont like any of the QBs in this years class.

Actually if I'm going a qb in this draft give me Landry jones. He improved a lot this year and will probably be the best qb in this draft. We need a corner and a safety and a guard. It really all depends on if the new coach wants a 3-4 d or not. I think it would be a huge mistake to bring saban in cause he will want a 3-4 d and we would have to blow up our defense again.

Landry Jones will fall to the 4th at least IMO.

Doesn't necessarily have to be him..just on board with the idea of grooming a QB behind Weeden for a year or two. Whomever the regime feels is the best option.

Former Eagles P Chas Henry worked out for the Browns this week. Has also worked out twice for the Lions this season.

I wonder if we brought Saban in and Haslam says Jauron stays along with the 4-3?

Give me Mark Sanchez, problem solved!
